H/T but when I do any critical listening, I always end up listening in stereo. Maybe an HT receiver with a decent preamp... so that normal operation using HT is simple, but when I'm listening critically I can use an external power amp.

Recently added RF-7's and have been enjoying them. Then I Bi-wired them and I'm very pleased... I've been looking at the posts on preferred receiver match ups, I currently am running a Yamaha RX-V2200, and was intrigued by the high current power amp discussions. I have a Hafler p5000 power amp in my studio (325-watts per channel at 8 ohms). Sooo I plugged into the preamp outs and took it for a spin. Damn! A very noticeable difference in clarity through-out the frequencies. After much drooling, I plugged the speakers back into the Yamaha... Needless to say I'm now searching for a new receiver..
