  1. Yes I use a sub with my khorns with GREAT results. I use a REL stentor sub that feeds from speaker leads (not the LFE from the preamp) It is set to come in at 50 hz and handle everything down from there. AWESOME
  2. I have a nice pair of 85 khorns. I am buliding a new house and would like to build a custom entertainment center for home theater in a large basement room.I would like to build the khorns into the cabinet covering the bass bin and top to match the rest of the cabinet. Has anyone attempted this? Do you have any pictures? suggestions?
  3. I have been through several brands of speakers over the last 10 years.Vandersteen,Martin Logan,B&W,Polk. I recently sold a Polk SRT (Their TOP of the line $10000 system).I switched to Khorns with a REL Stentor Sub and Heresy center.I left a post at club Polk describing my pleasure and suprise with the superiority with heritage Klipsch system. It was not intended to be a slap at Polk, but someone there was thinking about purchasing a SRT system and asked for feedback from owners. You would have thought I killed someones firstborn. And the fact that I think a Klipsch product is superior ,not to mention the model I prefer is using 50 year old technology, blasphemy. Why does Klipsch not get the respect that it deserves?
  4. I just picked up a pair of khorns in walnut.Serial #s 8512450 & 8512452.One speaker has a few chips on the top corners of the bass bin. Any advice on how to repair?
  5. I would buy the best REL sub (used) that I could afford. Probably a statium. I have owned just about every sub( M&K Klipsch Vandersteen Sunfire Velodyne Polk) nothing comes close
  6. Thanks for all the replies. So far I am thrilled! I have gone from Maggies to Martin Logans to Polk SRT and now sonic nirvana with the khorns. I do think I will be looking for tube power in the future as my parasound amps are overkill. The hiss from the tweeters is more than I would like and with the REL stentor sub I really have no worries below 50hz. For those of you not familiar with that sub it is nothing short of amazing.I know where I can get a nice MAC 225 for around $1200. I will probably give that a try in the near future.
  7. I pulled my tweeters from and old pair of heresey,s. Sure enough they played great. I hated snipping the factory connections but I guess its nothing a soldering iron can't fix. I also had to exchange the faceplates as the horns have an adapter that allows it to fit in a wider hole. Nevertheless I am playing.Looks like I need new diaphrams for the tweeters. I will put up pics later.Equip I am presently using. So far I am very pleased! 8. Just got my dream pair of cornerhorns delivered today.85 's in walnut. The tweeters(K77) don't seem to be playing. How should I check. Diaphram? Crossover? My stupidity?
