  1. Awesome. Now I have to hold out and see if I can get this thing done for cheap. It would be nice if I could get it because I am a little wary of pulling the face plate (motherboard) out of a nice, perfectly used klf. Thanks for your advice, Levi
  2. Red, I sometimes have trouble articulating my thoughts. I know all about HornEd's center channel mods (thats why my sig. is "always looking for a single klf 30), but I thought maybe a 20 is close enough to a 30 in timbre match. In your opinion, I should wait for a single 30 to come around, and pass on this 20. I know the timbre match wouldn't be the same between the 20 (center) and the 30's, but it would have to be a better match than the 7.
  3. Redtop, Its early, but it looks like this may go at a bargain (cosmetically screwed). My question for you (or any others that want to chime in) is, "How much of an improvement would the 20 be over the C-7, when I am running 30's in the front?" I have been waiting for a single 30, but I am starting to grow a little impatient. I like the 7, but it just can't keep up on dvd-a and sacd at decent volume levels. Thanks, Levi
  4. WOW, I am truly blind!! I can't believe I didn't see that article on the main page.
  5. There is a VW commercial with some reference speakers in it.
  6. You might want to check out ecost. They were showing a refurbed 2200 for less than $300. I cannot comment on this dealer or their reputation, as I passed on that deal. It will at least give you a place for comparison.
  7. I run a Sunfire Cinema grand with my KLF's and have never had a problem (knock on wood). I have the amp connected through the balanced inputs and it performs much better than my Adcom 5500, that I had hooked up previously. Hope this helps!
  8. Steve, Are you willing to split the system up? I might be up to another trip to CA for those 30's. Let me know! Repeat Business, Levi
  9. Adcom claims that the 5500 can be bridged down. It has never clipped in the 6 years that I have owned it, but it has also never been driven this hard. I think I will take Michael's advice unless anybody else has ran this at 4 ohms with success. Levi
  10. Thanks for the info guys!! I ordered the parts today. Rob, wouldn't it be better to wire the sub parallel to get 350 watts out of the amp (bridged). My ceilings are high (we live in AZ, hardly any basements), but I am not a bass freak, so this should work great for me. Thanks again, Levi
  11. I am a noob, so please be gentle, Here is my situation, I recently purchased a TG111 and a Cinema Grand. I am thinking about using an Adcom 5500 for a Adire Tempest sub. The TG has a crossover and sub LFE outs, but do I need a seperate XO? Also, would the tempest Adire alignment be a good sub for a KLF (30's L&R, C-7 center, 20's surround) 5.1 system? My system is in an open family room that measures (18*16*20 h*w*l). I double posted this in the Home Theater Forum because it is a processor question also. Thanks in advance, Levi

  13. Phred, If you still have these, I really want them. I live in Phoenix, AZ, and can't find a pair around.
