  1. The serial number stickers on my Forte's are coming loose and basically are only held on now by a staple at the top and bottom. Is there a preferred method/product for sticking them back down? Thanks
  2. Recently passed away - I was just getting ready to toss it into the dumpster and thought there may be some useable components inside it. If anyone wants it, I will send it to them for whatever the shipping cost from Delaware is. PM me if interested. EDIT: ***GONE***
  3. Just in case someone else with this question comes along.....there are NO speaker level inputs on the RSW-12, line level only.
  4. That combo price is much more attractive than for the combo I cited SteelerFan, thanks. I just got a price of $3060 for those items, that includes delivery and there isn't sales tax here. I have about a month to think on the situation. Before I started reading this forum, I defined bright as something that made your eyes squint, not your ears....having owned 4 KG4's combined with a Yamaha R9 receiver for around 15 years, I can certainly relate to the audio definition! I have to admit, all the Klipsch/Rotel owners who have used the term "warm" to describe their setup has my undivided interest I initially planned on an HTIB and would use the KG4's in the family room. Then I realized that after listening to TV and movies on the above system, that even with surround sound, an HTIB just wouldn't do. Another thing is that I bought Forte's - after doing a/b comparisons with my KG4's, I fear that they just are not going to suit me in the HT. So if I proceed with this purchase, I guess the KG4's are going to the family room afterall, and I'll have to get another pair of Forte's or Chorus' to finish off the HT (and now audio room). Geeze - I think I am now officially ate up with the addiction
  5. Thanks for all the input! I just found Rotel's MSRP list - Wow!! Opinions here and elsewhere seem to lean towards Rotel, but by no great margin. OTOH, the price difference looks to me like Rotel should blow Outlaw out of the water. (Outlaw 950/770 ~ $2500 w/shipping vs Rotel RMB-1095, RMB-1080 and RMB-1068 ~ $4700 without shipping). I guess Im down to choosing between the Outlaw 950/7100 or 950/770. Thanks again, Gun ;=-
  6. Has anyone auditioned the 950 with both the Outlaw 770 and a Rotel offering? I like the fact that the 950/770 combo is made by the same people and that the 770 is already a 7 channel amplifier, but it seems like Rotel is the preferred amp on this forum. Any input will be appreciated. I will be using all but 2 of the following: An Academy, RSW-12, 4 Fortes and 4 KG4's. After testing, one pair will go to the family room for 2 channel use. Thanks, gun
  7. It was as if the power cord was pulled from the wall, it just shut off. This was at rather low volume and did so without any smoke or smell. Its just as well it happened now, I had planned on sending it to the shop to try to get rid of some of the "Rice Krispies" in the controls and replace the memory battery as soon as I bought a multi channel replacement for it.
  8. I went with the Speaker C lug option. All sounded wonderful for the hour or so it worked, then the R9 bit the dust Oh well, now time to decide between a Denon 3805 and a separates setup. Thanks for the input. gun
  9. Thanks, I think "speaker-level inputs" finally clicked in my mind. I thought that the rca jacks on the sub were only for sub out from whatever source. This is just temporary and I already have 4 speakers connected to the receiver so this is what I am thinking..please correct me if its wrong. I can run speaker cable from my speaker "C" lugs on the receiver (A & B in use already) to the rca "in" jacks on the subwoofer, but will not be able to filter the frequency being sent to the main speakers this way. The only way I could quickly and easily use the filter would be to tie the wires from each pair of speakers together and connect them to the rca "out" jacks on the sub....would this damage anything? Thanks again gun
  10. I just bought a RSW-12 for my upcoming HT. I currently have an old Yamaha R9 receiver without any subwoofer connection. How can I connect this sub and receiver? I read elsewhere that I can connect it to tape out...just want to verify this before I start connecting anything. tia Gun
  11. I have space, the room is 14 X 24. However, I'm not finding any KG2's available anywhere. Also, I have already changed my mind on the Yamaha and am leaning towards a Denon 3803 or 3805. Thoughts on dropping the KV3 and getting an Academy and Forte's for the front and use the 4 KG4's for rears and surrounds? TIA
  12. Thanks. I have already started my search for a KV3. That will save so much money over what I had expected to buy that I need more advice now lol I just bought a new house and am moving in a couple of months, so I think I may as well set it up for 7 speakers from the start. Would another pair of KG4's be in order or should I drop back to maybe KG3's for one of the rear pairs? The "Yamaha reiver - model undetermined" in my first post should currently read "RX v2400".
  13. Hi all, I think I am about ready to take the HDTV/HT plunge. I currently own four KG4's and like them much. I am torn between trying to use them in a HT setup or just selling them and starting from scratch. What would you do in this situation? If you say to use the KG4's, in what placement would you use them and what other speakers would you recommend to use with them to finish off the HT? I have toyed with the idea of just getting a HTIB setup, but then it dawned on me that I've been listening to these KG4's hooked up to a Yamaha R9 @ 165 RMS and a hifi VCR for over a decade and DVD for a couple years. I'm afraid a HTIB system just won't suit me after the intensity this setup delivers. Anyone think this thought is sound? Thanks, Gun Other planned items: A Yamaha receiver - model undetermined, a Panasonic 53", a Denon 910 DVD Player and a Dish 921 DVR.
