  1. Hello forum friends, I just measured form the floor to the top of the horn it is 71 1/2 inches tall. I am curious dtel on how your DIY bass bin will work let me know that could be a winter project for me. Although the LaScala bass bin has a lot more bass than I was expecting. I have been working on the room installing a Furman Elite 15 PFi power- surge conditioner and the Denon AVR 4310. It does not look like I will finish tonight getting the room back up and running maybe tomorrow night.Tonight is my turn to water the landscape to keep everything alive in our water rationing summer here in Austin. I will be busy moving the sprinkler LOL. I spent the part of the morning listening to some old CDs. This reminds me when I went from the Klipsch THX system to the three La Scalas up front. Hugh new listing experience compared to the Khorns. Rich
  2. Hello Coytee, I really appreciate your help posting the pictures. When I first bought the La Scalas IIs I had a cabinet maker make a 6 inch black ash riser to raise the tweeter and midhorn to my ear level. It made a big difference. I talked to Roy Delgado about it and he said it probably will not make a difference to try it both ways. I don't know why but it sounds better to my ears with the riser in place?? Did you get the forth picture of the right rear corner of the room with the Klipsch license plate in the background? The subs are used for home theater only. I need to do more tweeking this weekend when I put the new Denon 4310 Ci in place. Off to the Concert. Rich
  3. Hello Cornman, I am using a crossover that Roy Delgado developed and gave me. DrWho helped me download it into the Crown XTi 1000 amps. Someday you will have to come over and listen. I never made it over to listen to your Cornwalls. I have been real busy. I would like to here a pair of Cornwalls. Rich
  4. Hello, Yes this is a great forum. Thanks again everybody. I am posting from work, I will get the camera out this weekend and try and post them. I am going to a James McMurtry concert tonight here in Austin. I wonder if I should bring the JubeScalas for the band LOL. Rich
  5. Hello forum friends, I finally got the 402-69 horns and the La Scala II bass bins all set up. My wife's health took a set back is the reason for the delay. I needed to help her she is getting better thank God. This combo is amazing highs, mids and lows spot on. I stayed up way to late last night listening. I have some pain in my jaw today from having a big grin on my face for about two hours last night LOL. I was a little nervous using the La Scala bass bins because I did not think the bass would be enough for me. The bass is clean and plenty for my ears. My room is only 15 feet wide x 18 feet long x 8 feet high. The whole couch listening area is the sweat spot now!! I want to than Coytee, bhenrix, Wrinkles, Roy Delgado and Dr Who who walked me over the phone on how to configure the amps. I could have not done it without all of your help. I will post some pics in the very near future. Thanks again, Rich
  6. Looking forward to you visit Travis, I will be in contact when I get them up and running. Also other forum members that live in the area are welcome as well. This time of year is when I stay inside and listen to a lot of audio. These 101 degree days get old fast here in Central Texas. Rich
  7. Hello, Quote: I have a brand new DX 38 in the box, never been opened, that has never been opened that you are welcome to borrow until you find yours. Travis Travis that is a very generous offer. I appreciate it but I do not like to borrow peoples equipment. I should have the 402-69s this week or next. My amps will be here Wednesday. The DX38 will be the next upgrade so I can try other amps. Although I have heard great feedback form forum members that really like the Crown XTis Thanks again, Rich Rich
  8. Hello , Quote : What part of Austin are you in? Beautiful north Austin. I will P.M with info. Claude please let me know if the Khorns work out and you have the program for them. I have always liked the 2008 khorns bass over the 2007 LaScalas. Thanks for the input. I will be shopping for a DX 38 LOL Rich
  9. Helo Coyree, The DX38 has been on my mind many times this past week. As you know I do like changing amps. This will be on the list of future upgrades already planned out LOL I needed to start somewhere. The XTis will be used for powering some passive subs that are on the upgrade list also. Thanks, Rich
  10. Hello forum friends, Quote : Rich, I am only aware of the XTI fans being on twice in over a year of use. And then it was between songs. I guess you really have to push them to heat em up. Wrinkles WOW that is encouraging I do not play anyting past -15 db THX spec 0 db will blow me and my hearing out of the room.I guess that is because I have been enjoying that Klipsch high sensitivity sound . Thanks, Rich
  11. Hello, Everybody's JubScalas look Great !! I can hardly wait. My XTi1000s will be here Tuesday. With a lot of hard work I could wire them so the amps would be in another room. I did this with a Behringer Amp that I used to have because the fan was very noisey. I was wondering do the XTi1000s have a very loud fan noise do you think they would be able to go into my A/V furniture behind the seating position with out fan noise distraction? Thanks, Rich
  12. Hello, Quote: Got that upgrade bug again did ya!! It was good to here from you today James. I look foward to having you over for a listen Rich
  13. Hello forum friends, Quote:The "top" JubScala version, the K402 on the La Scala II bass bin: should sound great! I will not be using the Khorn bins I was advised not to by Klipsch. On my part it would be too experimental not lab tested like another forum member said. Wrinkles I will P.M. you my email address I appreciate your help. I already have the file I just got it today I do have questions. I will do the same as wrinkles I do not think I will take the top off off the La Scala II. I don't know where I would store the tops anyways. Rich
  14. Hello , Coytee thanks for the measurments Quote: Have you actually ordered them yet? As in... they will arrive in "X" weeks? Or are you still in the final stages of contemplation? I ordered the 402s-69s on Monday they will be here in about two weeks or so is what Klipsch said. I already have the 2007 LaScala IIs and 2008 khorns and some Heresy IIIs Islander I am no hi fi experimenter by know means I need lab tested settings like you said Rich Rich
  15. Coytee might have something there about the 402-69 setting on top of the khorn bin. I have both bass bins if I could get the two programs to download into the XTi 1000s that I am getting. One program for the LaScala IIs and one program for the Khorn bins.Hear which ones sound better? I don't know if program is the right word. The learning curve is just beginning with one phone conversation already with Coytee. I will have to wait till I get the amps in my house. Rich
  16. Hello, That is the exact picture the I saw yesterday that gave me the idea. The same person built home made jubilees bass bins. You definitely have to be a woodworking craftsman to do that which I am NOT LOL. Rich
  17. Hello, I will try and contact the owners of the JubScalas. That is the person (Roy Delgado) that I have contacted about using the Khorn bass bins. I did not know if I should have mentioned his name is why I said person from Klipsch. Thanks, Rich
  18. Hello, I have the LaScalas II that I will be using the 402-69 horns on top. Can some of the owners contact me by P.M or phone I have some questions. What I really want to do is put the 402-69 on top of my 2008 khorn bass bins I am trying to find out through Klipsch if that is possible to do. Thanks forum friends, Rich
  19. Hello forum friends, Yes, I realize that the 402 is wider the the LaScala IIs. I got a rough measurement of three foot wide x two foot high for the 402. The LaScala II base bin is a little over two foot wide. No problem for me. I will put the Khorns in the back for surround duty leave the Heresey IIIs for 7.1 The other LaScala II for center. If I can't deal with the difference in tonal balance for the center I might have to get another 402. My first and really only objective is two channel. Rich
  20. Hello Forum Friends, Well I went in another direction. I took Coytee's advice and ordered a pair of 402 with 69s for JubScalas. Now I need to do more shopping for two XTi amps Thanks for everybody's input and help, Rich
  21. Hello Cornman, I really appreciate the invitation. It has been quite some time since I have posted on the forum. I had no idea that there was a Heritage Cornwall forum member in Austin. You are welcome to come to my house also. I will P.M. with phone number. Thanks Rich
  22. Hello forum friends, I am changing things around for something new the answer to coytee I will not sell any of what I have now. I want to keep them for a long time. The JubeScalas sound interesting since I already have the bass bins. colterphoto has me thinking about buying new what he said about big improvement over the old which is what I heard also. Where would you get two of the big horns for Jube Scalas? direct from klipsch? Thanks, RIch
  23. Hello, I need some help from my form friends. What to do next? I have a upgrade or buy something new bug. I listed what I have for 7.1 in my home theater. I have never heard Cornwalls. It is almost impossible to find some local to buy or listen . The only way I would buy would be from Klipsch or used local. I am thinking on purchasing a pair new or used. Are they an improvement from say the Khorns or La Scalas that I have for two channel?. From what little research I have done it appears that the old Cornwalls do not sound as good as the new. My 2008 Khorns sound a lot better than my 1975 pair that I used to have. I appreciate your input, Rich
  24. Hello, I want to let everyone know the XPA5 is here to stay for home theater. This amp delivers in spades really opens up my Heritage system. The only slight complaint and maybe I am being to picky is the transformers are noisey. You can here them from the seating position only at mute. I called Emotiva they said it was normal considering the high sensitivity of the speakers. The amp is built like a tank. It has a very transparent, detailed, clean sound without being harsh or bright. Bass is very clean also it really makes the Khorns go lower than my ADA PTM650 for sure rmlowz
