  1. Nice rick,

I wish i still had mine but life had other ideas.

I worked for along time and in 2002 i walked into the local harley dealer with 7100.00 cash and loaded the sporty on the truck (they would not let me ride it out without a license) I took it home, unloaded it fired it up and went for a ride, (First bike i had owned), I never did get a license put over 10000 miles on it over the next couple years, sold it to buy an flh, sold that to buy a road king, sold the road king to buy a house. bought and sold 3 more bikes after that. after all that I liked the sporty the best (its the only one i miss)

    Joe

Hey Joe (hmm, makes me want to play some Hendrix now :) ),

I've always figured you must own or have owned a sportster with your username...

The only thing I regret is trying to save money on the luggage rack. The one I got was $50, and there was another one for $100. The more expensive one is the same, but it is longer, going all the way to the rear seat mounting bolt. I think mine looks funny with that gap in between it and the seat. I'm going to get the longer one soon...

Just curious, did you ever get that motorcycle license? :P

  2. Glad your enjoying your Sportster Rick, I think I have convinced myself to hold on to the one I got. I too would like to experience a Harley and just hope the experience is better this time around, just gotta wait for the weather to break.

I hear ya on the weather!! In 2012, I rode up until Nov 26 before storing it at my mother's for the winter (I didn't have a place to keep it where I lived at the time). In 2013, I rode up until Nov 10th before the weather turned here. But I now live where I can keep it stored inside, and thought for sure we'd get at least a couple of mild winter days to ride. It hasn't happened, and I'm sooo ready for spring... :emotion-21:

  3. Current faves, subject to change

Guy:: James Brown (runner up: George Clinton)

Gal: Rickie Lee Jones (runner up: Eva Cassidy)

    Band: War (runner up: P-Funk)

Oh yeah, dead last band: the Beatles

I have got to get some Eva Cassidy music in my collection!!

I heard a beautiful song this morning on my local PBS affiliate's jazz station on HD radio. I had no idea who it was, and as it turned out, it was Eva. It was just beautiful to my ears...

"Songbird" is her best album with a version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" that will thrill you to the depths of your soul. Originally issued cd but there is a quality pressing on vinyl.

    thebes,

That seems to be the most recommended of her albums, and it is most likely the first one I'll add to my collection... :emotion-21:

  4. This list is longer than the favorites

But I'm confused, most that come to mind are NOT musicians OR singers, the only thing they are is an artist at is being marketed, the real talent is the people selling these "actors", apparently.

I also noticed that this list has quickly grown longer than the favorites thread...

I agree on the latter part of your post as well, though I'm not sure they even deserve to be called "actors"... lol...... :D

  5. Kanye West (wouldn't know one of his songs if I heard it but he has to be one of the most classless individuals walking the earth).

I couldn't agree more. I wouldn't know one of his "songs" if I heard it either, but every time I see his face on TV, he looks like such an angry, miserable human being...

  6. Worst of the worst...

Ha Ha!! I was just getting ready to post mine, and saw that your first 2 were the first that came to my mind as well...

    Male - Justin Beeber

Female - Miley Cyrus (or lady Gaga)

Band - One Direction (though I'm not sure they qualify as a band, I don't think any of them play any instruments?)

  7. Current faves, subject to change

  8. I thought it could be a fun topic to find what other forum members' favorite music artists are.

If you feel inclined to do so, list your favorites in these three categories: male artist, female artist, and band. Please, choose only one of each category. I know it can be tough, like trying to name only one favorite song/album, so think hard... :emotion-55:

    Here's mine:

Male artist: Johnny Cash (my overall favorite)

    Female artist: Linda Ronstadt

    Band: The Rolling Stones

Edit: I just realized that it's probably not too hard to figure mine out, as Linda is my avatar, Johnny is in my sig, and The Stones are my background pic in my profile (plus Keef's in my sig as well)... :)
