(With a big, brand new table saw and a new plywood 60 tooth blade.) But before I assemble, I have a question about how the woofer mounts to the motorboard. What is the best bolt setup again? I plan to install (4) 1/4" T-nuts on the back side of the motorboard. And then just use 1 1/4" panhead (roundhead?) slotted screws. Good enough? Thanks. ---------------- I built a pair of Oak Lascalas and I used eight 1/4"x20 tee nuts with 1 1/2" long allen head cap screws. The allen head cap screw let you tighten them up with a ratchet and allen wrench socket easily within the dog house. Do not put holes at 3:00, 6:00, 9:00 or 12:00. Turn the woofer to accomplish this. Good Luck, the dog house is the hardest part to make.
  2. John I think I am on the right track. I am using ALKs network for the Heresy. I have the tweeter on tap 4 and the squawker on tap 3. What are your thoughts.
  3. Frzninvt, That would be great. My email is tyoung@cmsinter.net. Thanks, Tim
  4. Frzninvt, Thanks for the response. How can I get the Cap and inductor values for the K-24-K. Especially since I have 2 of them hooked up parallel. I know by reducing the resistance that lowers the crossover point but only for the woofer I don't know if it changes the Crossover freq for the squawker. BTW the size is not that big. The Woofer Cabs are 15 1/2 x 15 1/2 x 17"Deep. I made them deeper rather than tall or wide. Tim
  5. If you put a speaker behind the screen it has to be perforated. These screens are alot more expensive than a non perforated. I use a regular screen and set my center channel speaker on the floor angled upward. I have had a projection system for going on 10 years and this works fine. Tim
  6. I just finished building a custom Center Channel Speaker to go with my La Scala Fronts in my HT. The Speaker consists of 3 parts. The Center Section contains a k-77-m and a k-55-m with K-401 Horn and is dimensioned after the HF section of a La Scala. On both sides of the center cabinet are K-24-Ks (Heresy II Woofers)in seperate Cabinets dimensioned similar to a Heresey II Cabinet. I have ALK networks in the La Scalas and and ALK for the Heresy in the Center Speaker. Should I be using a crossover for a La Scala instead of the one for a Heresy. Thanks, Tim
  7. I just finished a custom center Channel Speaker. It consists of a K-77-M and K-55-M with K-401 Horn in a cabinet like the top half of the La Scala. I then have 2 K-24-Ks (Heresy II Woofers) in seperate cabinets each with same internal dimensions as a Heresy. The woofers set on each side of the HF Cabinet. My question is should I be using a crossover for a Heresy or La Scala. I have ALK's in the front La Scalas. Any suggestions would be great. I am currently using a Heresy ALK network but don't know if it could be better.
