  1. Yup I'm getting one. Hopefully I'd be lucky enought to get one on launch day via pre-order. If not, it's OK because I still have my 360.

Anyways, I'm getting it for blu-ray, Tekken and Metal Gear games. For some reason, I never really got hooked on GT series.

  2. When I lost you, I was the one who loved you the most. But between us

you are the one who lost more...For someday I can love someone the way

that I loved you...But you will never be loved again the way that I

    did.

    lol....that was cheap!! [:D]
  3. The Philips component switch didn't work out for me so I returned it. I

keep on losing signals for some reason with the display sometimes

showing washed out colors. Might be a faulty port or something.

Kept on looking for an alternative and decided to get a "powered" switcher instead. I got this unit

and it was an excellent buy imo. No lose signals at all. My Sony Bravia

HDTV unit tells me the signal input I'm getting whether it's 1080i (HD

Cable box) or 480P (progessive scan DVD player).

I got it for $56 free shipping from Buy.com. Just $6 over my budget - hehe.

  4. Any recommendation for an INEXPENSIVE component switch? Basically

looking at the price range of around $50. I really don't need a high

tech one. Only one that works. I bought a new HDTV and it only has one

component input so I need one to switch between my Cable HD and my DVD

    player. TIA

  5. My local costco (NJ) have them on sale too now for the past 2 weeks on

a pallet. Have not sold out so far so I guess the saturation point has

been reached and the unit is now more available.

    BTW,

    PS1 launched 1995 retailed for $299.

    PS2 launched 2000 retailed for $299.

So PS3 launching 2006 will also retail for $299 (but multiply it by 2)? hehe

  6. I was disappointed with this movie. Didn't like it at all. I guess it

has something to do with Viggo Mortensen as the leading actor. Somehow,

I still him as the Aragorn from LOTR so he didn't appear credible to me.

But hey, at least now I know that Maria Bello is not a true blond. [:D]

  7. See "Target Practice" Newsweek 3.20.06 page 32.

Yup I read that article. Really a weird person ain't he? Imagine

working for the president and as a sideline, you shoplift at Target!

    Geezeee......

  8. Well, it's not exactly on purpose...

Think about it. The final hardware structure for the 360 until

about August (the betas were shown at E3, but those weren't

final). So they had from August to November to get as many as

they could produced and distributed (not a lot of time at all).

This is compounded when you consider that this is a completely new

custom chip...there are ALWAYS manufacturing issues with new chip dyes,

and they process is constantly refined over the first few months to

reduce/eliminate dud chips coming off the line (the dud factor is

always high at the beginning of manufacturing of a new chip).

This is I guess the main reason why you have those overheating, game

freeze, and other problems some users are encountering with the unit.

As a matter of fact, Microsoft already had support articles in their

website prior to launching the unit.

    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;907588

    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;907586

    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;906652

Also, ever wondered why the unit came with a microsoft offer for a 2

year extended warranty? Makes me really ponder. But all is well for me

until I get any of those problems so I'm knocking on wood. I would most

likely get the extended warranty too before the 90 day basic warranty

    is over.

Well I anticipated it and it did happen. Last friday, my unit froze so

I turned it off and on again. Then I got the dreaded 3 red lights on

the ring of light which meant that the unit was encounterting a

hardware error or something. Tried the MS troubleshooting article but

it did not work, the unit is dead. I called MS support and will send me

a box to return the unit for a fix/replacement. And it had to happen on

    a weekend..bummer!

  9. Anybody have a opinion on the winner of 2006 oscar

for Best Picture . . .Crash? It certainly wasn't that

    popular at the box office.

Watched it last night....Mannnn,,,,THAT WAS SOME MOVIE!!!!!!

Yeah....I liked it a lot. The plot, the characters, how everything

intertwined[*] with one another. I give it 10 thumbs up!!!! [:D]

ADMIN EDIT: SPOILER ALERT Don't scroll down if you haven't seen the film.

    [*]The

only thing I couldn't figure out, and I think became off based with the

plot is when a righteous guy (Ryan Phillippe) all of a sudden became a

hater in one day (after saving a black man)?

    Amy's 2 cents: I think the point

to that wasn't that he was righteous and all of a sudden became a

hater... I think the point was that he honestly didn't consider

himself a racist or think he had a preconceived notion about

other people, but when faced with a pressure situation like he was,

instincts came into play. Turned out he wasn't the man he

thought he was, and he DID have the mindset to think the worst.

    He was naive about himself.

That's what I got out of his story line, anyway.

    ************ My spin *********

Well that was a huge and immediate turn around for

that guy either way imo. All in less than a day. He was a little

confrontational in the car which was a throw off from his character

based on what was shown from the start of the movie (he was against

running after the wrong SUV, he was clearly against what his partner

was doing, he reported it to his superior, etc).

At that fatal scene, he was clearly anticipating for something to happen. He clearly got what he wished for.

  10. My Sony DVP-NS70H connect to my TV via HDMI. I use an optical cable connecting the unit to my Yamaha Receiver.

Only thing is, when I watch a DVD, I have to lower the volume of the TV

to zero. I can't mute it because I always see the mute message on the

screen and I can't selectively disable the audio from the HDMI. When I

got Star Wars 3, I wasn't impressed with the sound at all. It was only

after watching the whole movie that I noticed I was hearing most of the

sound coming from the TV itself and not the receiver.

  11. Years ago, I was waiting in the hospital waiting for my Girlfriend (who

is BTW now my wife) finish her evening schedule as a nurse. I was

inside the car when a woman approached me. She looked distressed and

told me a story about her child confined in the ICU and needing some

medicines. She showed me a presciption and was asking for some help of

any sort. Of course I was skeptical but on the other hand it may be

true all along. Eventually, I gave her some money. My take is that if

it was true, I would have helped her in my own little way and that was

good enough for me, if not, I wouldn't be the one answering questions

come judgement day. I couldn't bear the fact that I could have helped

somebody that time around and didn't do anything about it.

    Kudos to you!
