  1. I like that. Its better to say what speaker, I don't see a speaker dear. Than asking for forgiveness is a blind issue.
  2. I updated my system with a Krell 400 ix integrated amp, Marantz 8260 SACD Player, Marantz 6000 Tuner and Monster 2600 Power Conditioner. I have a set of ref 3 speakers. I know they are not the best but they sound really good. I don't want to make a drastic change in looks since my wife will notice that so I thought about Ref 5s. Will it make a 1500.00 additional difference since I about tapped out for now. Its hard to stop when you are either ok or close.
  3. Any experience with this player?
  4. I recently bought the following: Krell 400 ix integrated amp my wife had no idea. Man,if she did. Marantz 6000 Tuner. got away with it Marantz 4260 SACD no clue Now my genious high end audio store pushed the Monster 2600 clean power box. Did zip. Looked different. The surge did come as my wife did an Italian Pizza Dance after figuring all those little lights spelled new. She called Tony, the cousin, who said 350.00 power box, and Oh baby 2500 Krell amp. I hope I never hear Monster again in this forum.
  5. Thanks. I like your handle. Grew up in the 60s with hair down to my back before my wife decided to change the outside.
  6. I need to stop this buying spree before my wife finds out. Last week I bought a Marantz Tuner and Krell 400 xi integrated. Now my NAD 322 sounds lousy and my tuner amazing. Well, CD time. The dealer will take back the NAD with a 20% restocking kick but better than chasing a buyer. They recommend the Marantz Multi Channel SA 8260 cd which with the return factored in is $725.00. I can squeek that out but no more. Anyone have any experience with these Super Audio Models. Will it be better than the 300.00 NAD 322 BEE. Mark
  7. I purchased a Krell 2oo watt integrated amp. The ref 3 hasn't given me what I feel the amp can do yet. I don't have a lot of money for big dollar speakers but heard good things about Paradigm Studio 40 Speakers. Anyone have any idea if they outperform my current Klipsch Rf 3 before I spend more money.
  8. Ref 3's.I just started raising the bar Friday buying a Krell 400ix Integrated, Krell SACD and McIntosh Tuner. I will be able to update my speakers in 2010. I had an Adcom amp and pre but it was harsh and closed in.
  9. Don't try to erase and go back while typing a topic. Example, my last ones. Next time I start over. If anyone can give me help with my prior topic I would appreciate
  10. I have a Krell 400xi integrated amp and Velodyne sub.CHT 8. I hooked my Klipsch line level but can't help wanting to hear the amp and not send all the bass to the amp.I want touslittle extra thump. Can I send the signal to the speakers and use the preamp intakes to connect and get a signal from the amp. There are seperate inputs for a preamp on the amp. Or is there another suggestion. Thanks folks.
  11. You might be correct regarding driving my Ref 3s but the Krell did open up the speaker tremendously. Maybe I'm easy, the Adcom just sounded so enclosed and Krell better mids and seperation.
  12. The Krell integrated amp made a big difference. I am hearing sounds out of Springsteins album I never heard with my Adcom or Denon. This stuff gets expensive but it makes a difference. My ref 3 speakers sound better than better ones at freinds homes, theirs driven by Onkyo and Denon components.
  13. NAD 322 CD Player. Just bought it. Funny, the speakers and unit cost half of the amp. Am I nuts.
  14. I have adcom 506 pre and 5400 amp driving my Klipsch. Lower volumes are lifeless and upper harsh with little in the middle. I'm a poet. I went to the local saylavee money upgrade audio dealer and plopped 2800 on a new Krell 400 integrated amp and Mcintosh Tuner. Please tell me it will show me the class sound I am looking for.I'm out of money, kids college.
  15. What is the best two channel amp for 700-800 dollars to drive my ref 3 speakers. My preamp is an Adcom GFP 750.
  16. I have an Adcom GFP 506 PREAMP AND Adcom GFA 5400 amp with a NAD Disc, Klipsch Ref 3 speakers. Speakers are biwired and all conductors are top notch monster. I can't get the sound I feel the speakers are capable of. I don't have thousands to spend but in this forum Advent preamps were not recomended while their amps were fine at the pricepoint. The Adcom GFP 750 preamp though was highly recomended and compared to preamps double the price. I just bought the pre as a demo and can replace it with a 750 with a Marantz tuner as a seperate. Can a preamp make an audible difference. Since I hate the tuner on the Adcom that has to be better. This will run $500 more for the pre and $400 the tuner.
  17. I have Klipsch RF 3 speakers, Adcom GFP 506 Preamp and Adcom GFA 5400 AMP. All my wiring is monster and my speakers are biwired. I was told on this forum the only preamp Adcom had that was excellant was the GFP 750. I have an oportunity to trade in the GFR 506 and will replace it with the GFA 750 and seperate Marantz Tuner.I find the tuner on the 506 is not very good and I am not happy with the sound of the amp and preamp combination I have now. Will the change make a difference?
  18. I own Ref 3 Klipsch speakers and pushing them with Adcom amp and preamp. I am using the best Monster cables and dual wired the speakers as suggested. I ran two combined to the amp and split to both sets of posts on the speaker. Is this the best setup for two channel stereo. I am not getting the clarity I get from my Infinity RS 5 speakers I have set up in another room to the same Adcom setup. Any suggestions.
  19. I own an Advent GTP506 preamp, Advent GFA 5400 amp, Velodyne CHT 8 sub and Klipsch Ref 3 speakers for two channel music only. The sound is very powerful, almost overwhelming bass. I set the controls low and leave the bass from the preamp at o but its harsh and very bassy. Any suggestions on how to set this up to bring out the highs and make the bass smoother. I also have a Denon 3803 seven channel amp sitting in my attick since I felt seperates were better then one unit seven channel for music. Any advice!!!
  20. I am running Klipsch Ref 3 speaker, Adcom amp and preamp and Velodyne sub. The instrumentals are good but Clapton, Stones etc sound more backround while instrumental is clear and pronounced. I have 125 watts and two channel sound. What up with that?
