My living room is 20x14x8 and was great when the HT was lengthwise. However, since this in a 1000sq ft apartment and it's the only living room, the space wasn't being utilized very well and we had to move everything around. I attached a diagram of the new setup to this post. Sorry some of the dimensions aren't exactly to scale, but thats the general layout.
The problem is right in the middle of the center couch there is a giant hole in the bass response. I don't have an SPL meter so I can't say how much, but its definitely noticeable. Am I correct this is due to reflections off the back wall (the room is untreated at the moment) cancelling the wave? I was reading about bass cancellation online and it seems like that's my problem, but I don't know how to fix it. Maybe the side couches are also absorbing it somehow? I should mention that all the bass is generated from the RF-35s at the moment. I was planning to buy a PB-12 subwoofer in the near future, but I doubt more bass would solve this problem.
Any suggestions are welcome.
