  1. Unfortunately this is the best setup for the room, otherwise I'd take it into consideration. I did a test this afternoon though and am a lot happier. By moving both my RF-35 towers into the corner of the room (by the audio rack, where I plan to put my sub) I was able to simulate the effect of one, and poof the null spot is gone! Deep bass like I was used to. So I think that my best solution is to get a sub to fill that void.
  2. My living room is 20x14x8 and was great when the HT was lengthwise. However, since this in a 1000sq ft apartment and it's the only living room, the space wasn't being utilized very well and we had to move everything around. I attached a diagram of the new setup to this post. Sorry some of the dimensions aren't exactly to scale, but thats the general layout. The problem is right in the middle of the center couch there is a giant hole in the bass response. I don't have an SPL meter so I can't say how much, but its definitely noticeable. Am I correct this is due to reflections off the back wall (the room is untreated at the moment) cancelling the wave? I was reading about bass cancellation online and it seems like that's my problem, but I don't know how to fix it. Maybe the side couches are also absorbing it somehow? I should mention that all the bass is generated from the RF-35s at the moment. I was planning to buy a PB-12 subwoofer in the near future, but I doubt more bass would solve this problem. Any suggestions are welcome.
  3. Sorry, that drawing is not entirely accurate. I uploaded a new version. As you can see, there is not room enough behind the couch for speaker stands because they'd block the walkway (north room is small room + kitchen).
  4. I just bought some RS-3II surrounds but I can only mount them on the back wall behind my couch about 7 feet up (due to walls and windows). The problem is my couch/loveseat sits very low, so it's difficult to hear them over the mains/center that are at ear level. What's the best way to angle them down without mounting something permanent? I live in an apartment that I may or may not live in next year. I sketched a quick layout of the room at the link below because the forum wouldn't let me upload it directly. http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/apac020/livingroom.JPG
  5. That's not predictable, but its not important either. They're just reusing him as a character. It's supposed to be like the old team, except Sloane was so much more effective as an actor when he controlled SD6. The only reason they put Sloane as the leader is to add more drama into the pot.
  6. Ceiling? Perhaps there is a way to mount them on the ceiling behind and to the side of your HT so they angle towards the listener.
  7. You had the seller ship through US mail? With something as rare/expensive as an academy, spend the extra $30 to double box and send through a carrier.
  8. Warning** my rant may contain spoilers How in the HELL was that even close to awesome. Have you seen the first 2 seasons? Those were awesome. For some reason, god knows why, ABC decided to ditch the whole "bad ***" aspect and turned it into a glorified soap opera. I miss the plot twists, conspiracy theories, etc that the show used to have. Now everything is predictable. Not to mention that with a show like this, you can't just switch agency divisions and then give us the same EXACT characters EVERY TIME. It's boring. ABC killed a great show. What a waste. /rant
  9. I bought my RF-35s (cherry) on ebay as factory closeouts for $650. One of the speakers was perfect, but the other had some cosmetic damage on the bottom as if someone had dragged it without the feet. I contacted the seller and she agreed to refund me half of her $100 profits on the pair. Cost me in total $600 shipped. They sound great so for that price I can't complain.
  10. Hm, that's tough. A quick ebay/audiogon search tells me you'd be hard pressed to find a center for those towers. Have you considered using the acoustic research towers in a seperate 2 channel system and developing a Klipsch HT?
  11. I don't know anything about those Acoustic Research towers, but you should keep the most powerful speakers as your L/R mains. Since the ARs are towers I'm inclined to keep them in front. If I'm wrong and those synergy bookshelfs are better then by all means stick them in front and get a Klipsch center. The SC-3 seems like the most logical option since the driver is the same as your mains.
  12. You should probably find the center that matches your fronts. Those front 3 speakers need to have the most similar drivers.
  13. Try swapping the cables into each others ports. When I hooked my xbox up for the first time via component, the colors were really messed up. Turned out the colors on the xbox cable didn't match up correctly with the TVs.
  14. Funny, but I don't believe that is you. I've read that before.
