  1. I noticed that the HK 430 doesnt have sub outs or a variety of inputs. Is there anyway to get a sub out on these receivers? my sub doesnt have the high level inputs to connect to. Infact my sub amp is an old receiver that powers my two kicker xpl's in a custom ported box. If any one can help thanks. ps is there anyway to get a remote for this thing!
  2. Is there any way to hook up both units to one set of speakers? Im running KG4's for my fronts. I heard that the HK 430 will give these speakers the sound im looking for over my Yamaha. I was looking to use the HK for stereo setup and my Yamaha for HT setup. Is there anyway i could hook both units up to the KG4's so all i have to do is power up one unit for the source i want? Thanks
  3. I see a few of these for sale. Has anyone used this Yamaha? Does it have the same characteristics of other Yamahas? I have a HTR-5240 from Yamaha and i dont think it pushes my KG4's the way i would like them to be. Would this Yamaha sound thin and too harsh for my KG4's? If anyone has used one or has one let me know. Thanks
  4. Im looking for the twin powered receivers. If you have one you would like to sell please post it on here. Thanks
  5. Im looking for a good but used Denon receiver. Post your receivers your selling on here please
  6. Is there any other place to find old Harmon Kardon receivers besides Ebay? Im looking for an old 730 or 930 to put with my KG4's. If anyone has info let me know
  7. Will these receivers work with 6ohm speakers? Where can I find them for cheap? If anyone has used this combination of Kg4's and HK let me know.
  8. I don't know what to go with. I listen to alot of music but I also like to watch movies. In my dorm there isnt enough room to run a good surround system so I will settle with a 2ch set up for right now . I was looking for some vintage receivers. My friends dad has an Onkyo TX-2500mkII with an audiosource EQ and some smaller JBL bookshelf speakers. This system has alot of base and is very loud with out distortion that I could hear. What is your guys' opinion on the Onkyo TX-2500mkII if anyone has heard it or has one? Would it be a good receiver to hook up to my KG4's? What other vintage stereo receivers would be a good choice for under $75? Thanks
  9. Would an 1803 compare to the 3300? Its way cheaper and still has alot of funtions.
  10. What is the price for a used Denon AVR-3300? Not the price a dealer is going to give me but what someone would ask for one? Has anyone seen these go on Ebay before? Help me out! Thanks
  11. Has anyone had experience with this receiver? Im kind of scared to purchase this receiver to hook up to my KG4's. It is really cheap(under 250) and used but is said to be in mint condition. I think these were made until 1999 or so. Does it have a warm sound that Denons are known for? Would it provide plenty of bass over my Yamaha 5240? Any information on this Denon would help out alot. Thanks
  12. Would this receiver power my KG4's too much? It says at 6ohms it will do 150 watts rms. Is this too much for my speakers? Is this Denon a good receiver?
  13. How durable are the KG4's? Do they last long being pushed every now and again? Or how about parties? Should the take the beating of heavy bass?
  14. I turned off all eq settings and turned down the wave volume controls on my computer. the distortion still remains. I put in a CD into my sony DVD play and let it play...it distorts but not as much as my laptop but it also lacks bass then. Would it be my Yamaha receiver? Do Denon's tend to be cleaner than Yamahas? Would it be a good investment to purchase a lower costing Denon(around 300)?
  15. No one in my dorm has a decent stereo. The only receiver that I could hook it up to is a Kenwood. I don't know if that has clean watts at all. I dont know what to do with my laptop. Its my main source of music. Should I just turn off the EQ and enviroment settings? or should I try and make them sound better?
  16. Yes I am using my computer as a source. Im in college and this is my main source of music. It has a built in EQ and so does my winamp player but the winamp is disabled.
  17. I have listened to my newly purchased KG4's. They sound good compared to my MTX's but I have noticed I can't turn them up very loud. I dont know if the distortion is coming from my Laptop EQ or if it might be from my receiver. I have a Yamaha 5240. I listened to some JBL bookself speakers that my friend has this weekend. He has an older but high level Yamaha and the JBL's sounded sweet and didnt distort as much as my KG4's did. Im confused.
  18. Why can't I find specs for the VSX-1014TX on the Pioneer website? What does this model have for specs?
  19. Does Pioneer make a good quality HT/Stereo receiver? Im looking at either the 814K or the 914K to power my KG4's and Yamaha surround system. If anyone has a Pioneer similar to these let me know what you think. Thanks
  20. I would like to know what is best to use on my oiled Kg4's on the cabinets and also how would I clean the woffers with out causing damage to the speaker its self.
  21. I have been leaning toward Denon for a HT receiver. I was told save money and go with B-stock items. Don't those problems that they fix end up coming back? Is it really worth my money to buy one? I would rather buy new unless I get some input that tells me to buy otherwise. What is the report on B-stock receivers? Thanks JC
  22. Can you turn off the crossover points? On my Onkyo I had lastyear you couldn't. And yes I ment $300. Im just a college kid on a budget.
  23. I have been looking at upgrading from my Yamaha HTR-5240 to a new Denon receiver. Looking at the specs of the new Denon I found that it has an internal crossover. Searching for other receivers I have found this in many of them. Why do new receivers have crossovers in them. I want the most bass out of my front speakers when I listen to music with out the use of a sub. Are there any receivers out there under $300 that don't have crossovers that will handle my KG4's? Thank you
  24. Have any of you who own the KG4's touched your crossovers ever. I was just wondering if this would be an improvement that i might want to try. I have heard with other speakers it gives it some subtle improvements but i wasnt for sure about the KG4's. Thanks
  25. I was just wondering the opinions of people on this website. Do any JBL speakers compare to the KG4's interms of clarity and bass output?
