That's a good question.  I had something in mind but I'm so wordy I probably didn't explain it very well.

Think of it as a repository for all the stuff we as a group have.  For instance I have a single EV DH1506 compression driver for a center project I never got together.  If somebody from the Forum wanted it I would sell it to them, but I'm not looking to sell it, if that makes any sense.

I'm hoping it can be a nice resource for the forum between those who have things and those who need things.

Thai is it exactly well said. Some of  stuff I should sell if someone need it and most of it I would l loan out to any one with in reason.

  2. OK here goes

    Monarchy SM70 Amp

    McIntosh Mc2200 Amp

    McIntosh Mc2270 Amp

    Decware SE84CS Amp

JE Labs EL-34 Single Ended Amp

    Accuphase P266 Amp

Outlaw Audio M200 mono Amp single only one

Outlaw Audio ICBM six-channel bass management crossover

    Marchand XM44 crossover

    Pioneer RT-707 real to real

Frazier Dixielander speakers with Altec horns and 909 drivers

    JBL 2404H Baby Butt Tweeters

Selenium D405 high quality 8 ohm 2 inch outlet 4 inch voice coil phenolic diaphragm driver

I can keep going but the wife needs my help

  3. I recommend a Beyma CP25 tweeter, for instance, to cross-over at a lower frequency

Yea but the Beyma  tweeters are not a bolt in replacement driver and would require modification to the tops. That's why the ALK and Fastlane Audio Eliptrac HF horn with B&C DE120 are the ones I am looking at.

While you can get the Belle to cross at even higher than 600 Hz, note that the tradeoff is mismatched bass bin polar coverage angles to the midrange polar coverage angles in the crossover band

I crossed my LaScalas over at 700Hz actively using a Marchand XM44 and ALK Universal crossovers and still think that's how they sounded the best. It could have ben the 24db slope that made the deference. I am not wanting to cross higher than 600Hz just asking if anyone had so thoughts or experience crossing Belles at 600Hz  might there any improvement crossing 600Hz over 500Hz

  4. I have been wanting to upgrade my Belles and changing the K500 squawker Horn in not a option. So some thoughts are first replacing the woofers with Eminence Kappa-15C. Then second replace the tweeters with ALK and Fastlane Audio Eliptrac HF horn with B&C DE120. And third here is the question is there any reason to not rise the crossover to 600Hz on the woofer now that the Kappa-15c easily can reach that high and lowering the tweeter to 4000 sense the K500 horn will not be changed? Also would there be any noticeable difference switching to the new A-55G Midrange Drivers?  Thanks Brian

  5. I think that most subs are way over built. It has to have something to do with the mass of the cone material and what they are being asked to do.  You are not going to get your Chorus to play 20hz at 101db even of you apply 500watts.  Check out the H frame subs they can get up and dance with little watts and have the speed to keep up with Klipsch speakers. They are easy to build and are a fun cheep project. For what is worth the Outlaw amps are a great deal and sound good. I have the earlier model M200 and keep them to drive my DIY subs when in rotation LOL

  6. I wish you where closer. I have at least 10 amps you could try. I know this is not the watts or how many that count. I have Emotiva XPA-2 with 300 watts a channel a McIntosh MC 2270 that has 270 watts a channel and neither sounds better or has mare bass than than my Monarchy SM70 which has 40 watts a channel or My Pass F5 First watt clones which has 25 watts a channel. I assume the 3.1 means you will be using a sub so maybe you have nothing to worry about any way.

  7. Why in the world are you limiting your self to amps that have 150 watts? Those speakers are 101db right. Have you ever tried any tube amps or class A solid state? I have a Accuphase amp that can do 140 watts A/B and 40 class A. Check out the RH84 three channel amp on Tom's page http://www.wdox.com/   The truth be told the only amp that ever ran out of stem with my Klipsch was Decware SE84 and only makes 1 watt and even it sounded better than my Acurus amp. It the first watt that counts

Dang Brian how did I miss this thread?  I need to run across town and take a look at some of this stuff.

    Carl

If you would like to borrow any of it you more than welcome to. I will even bring it over.

We need to get together then.  I'll show you the monster sub I'm currently building.

That's a great offer.  I'm trying to figure out a hum on a tube amp now.  If you have a quiet 2 channel amp, I'd love to borrow it for testing purposes.  It wouldn't hurt to bring mine over to your place to try either.  Thank you very much.  Send me a PM when you want to get together.

Whenever is fine. Let me know me know when your working in your sub and come learn something and bring one over.

  10. Ok some one made me a offer on a Mcintosh MC7270 I could not refuse . So I do not need that any more. Call me Captain Kirk I always need more power. But now I have a Emotiva XPA-2 gen 2 for sale. How about $600 for it. It is like new and less than a year old with original box and everything.I can deliver any of this stuff within 250 miles of me if that helps. Thanks Brian
