  1. What about a Carver XI 1150 at 225 wpc or XI 1850 at 370 wpc? These are power beasts for the buck and I seem to remember hearing Carver making great products. How do they stack up next to Adcom and Rotel?
  2. I recently scored a sweet deal on 4 KLF-30s in excellent condition but I will only need 2. My plan is to run a stereo setup strictly for listening to music. Now I need to decide either to buy an amp or a receiver with built in amplifier. I've looked at Denon and Onkyo receivers rated at 100 watts rms but the KLFs are rated at 200 watts rms so I worry not enough power might damage them. Does anyone have a recommendation for the least expensive way for me to do this and give these speakers plenty of clean power? Also I will be selling the 2 extra KLF-30s if anyone is interested.
  3. Yes, prices, finish, and condition would be good and I definitly would be interested in the klf 30s. For the right price I'll take it all off your hands. Would you be willing to ship to GA?
  4. Thanks for the quick responces. I know tons about car audio but for high end home audio I definitely need guidance. My budget is based on whatever puts me in a concert without paying concert audio prices(under $5000 for receiver, towers, rears, center, & projector). I plan to buy in steps starting with receiver and front towers. I will then get a mini projector followed by center channel and rears. My plan was to pickup either a high end HK or Onkyo receiver from Circuit City since I work there. I figured high end HK or Onkyo would get me into excellent sound. I already have a 15" Definitive sub that will shake the rafters. It overpowers my Infinity surround so I figure it will do the job for low end. The towers should be amazing for stereo sound since I listen to alot of music, mainly rock, but also be excellent for home theatre use. I loved my roomate's Chorus II's mainly because listening to them reminded me of being in a concert which I guess makes me partial to vintage for the towers. I also liked the fact that when played extremely loud the sound quality was still excellent. I want towers that match or better those abilities. Let me know if this info helps and anything you may recommend.
  5. About 8 years ago, my roomate had a pair of Chorus IIs that blew my mind. Since then I have wanted a pair for myself once I could afford. I've been doing some research and watching products on Ebay such as Chorus IIs, KLF 30s, etc. and am trying to decide which pair of rockin towers would be best for my theatre/entertainment room in my new house. I love the fact that the Chorus IIs produce enough bass that no seperate powered sub is needed. A vendor on Ebay currently has a pair of klf 30s for $1800+ shipping new in the box. Seems kinda high since they were around $1900 while still manufactured. I would like to know the opinion of the Klipsch family before I make a purchase. Which pair of Klipsch towers should I go for and where should I get them? My roomate ran an American International amp I believe and it produced 1000 watts which I am told was overkill for the Chorus II's. I also would like to know what receiver and amp I should run speakers like these with to ensure the best performance?
  6. My husband wants a pair of Chorus II's and I am searching for them. Does anyone have any they are willing to sale?
