  1. Had a great conversation with the gentleman that owns Sound Anchors in Florida concerning the terrible feet that the RF-7 uses. He directed me to the "cradle style base" for the Rf-7. Does anyone have this for their RF-7s? It's a great design that uses 2 x 2" steel for the sides and the speaker is sandwiched between the plates and whole whole base is spiked...Each stands is an impressive 20 lbs. Just wanted to throw this around in the forum!
  2. Hi, Does anyone have a picture of the RF-7s done in the Maple Veneer? UE has the cherry in stock with an attractive price, but really like the look of the veneer sample Klipsch sent me in the maple. Any thoughts on the Maple welcomed! Thanks!!
  3. Hello To All, Does anyone have any experience with listening to Klipsch (mainly RF-7s) and comparing them to PMC (Professional Monitor Company) speakers? Thanks much!
  4. Thanks for replies. It's my fault in not explaining it better. If I output the Dolby Digital signal in a PCM output, like that owners manual states I will only be outputing a 2 channel signal. Does this signal include the left and right surround information also with the LFE channel combined into the two stereo channels?
  5. I know this is off the wall in the mighty Klipsch forum, but does anyone know how the Dolby Digital 5.1 sound coming from an Over-The-Air Set Top Box is handled when you use the analog L and R outputs from a show like the Super Bowl or other events? Does the STB downmix the channels? Thanks!
  6. Hi, I know that both of these amps are terrific and some people on the forum have said that the B&K go together with the RF-7s like "milk and doughnuts!" Just curious what people would recommend for two channel listening? The specs between the two companies/amps are very very close. Would be looking at the 3BSST or 4BSST (150/300 watts respectively) or the new B&K Reference 200 watt monoblock Series 2 amp. Thanks much!
  7. Hello, Just curious what's the better size for spades to connect to the RF-7s. 1/4" or 5/16" from WBT? Thanks much!
  8. Hello, I know there are tons of threads on this subject, but wanted to get some opinions of this idea? Two Bryston Amps, Two RF-7s, and ONE Bryston BP-10 Electronic Crossover. The BP10 crossover had high and low pass filters and output levels. By using this would I defeat the internal crossover of the speaker, or would I have to remove this to take full advantage of the Bryston crossover? Looking for PRO vs. CONS of this system. The two amps would be 150 watts for the high freq and 300 watts for the lows. Thanks much! Rich
  9. Hello, I'm set on the THX Ultra2 and would like to get some opinions on whether I should go with single 120 watt monoblocks to each of my 5 speakers, ort with 300 watt monoblocks. All will be Bryston amps. Thanks!
  10. Hello, Any word if Klipsch will be replacing the RF-7 with an RF-75 model anytime soon? I see that the Synergy line got a "redo". I'm still torn between an all RF-7 system or a THX Ultra2 system. Seems logical that the RF-7 line will be replaced since it's been out for over 4 yrs. Thanks!!
  11. Hello, Is their a specific distance that this sub should be from the back wall? I would only have about 6 inches behind the woofer. Thanks!
  12. Hello, Close to pulling the trigger and have some WAF issues between these two speakers. Will be using Bryston amps and Pre/Pro with either, but would like some opinions/views from the RF-7 owners on their product and anyone who could give me an honest opinion on the main differences that they see between the Klipsch and the Def Tech 7000s. My wife and I love both of these speakers, but one of us likes the horn loaded tweeter sound and the other enjoys the bi-polar sound of the Def Tech. Thanks in advance! Rich
  13. Hello, Would like to know what the benefits of having two RSW-15s vs. one RSW-15 in an all RF-7 surround set-up? Thanks
  14. Hello, I would like to know what the opinions are of placing the 650 Left and Right speakers on top of the subwoofers? The WAF would be higher if the sound would not be a problem vs. placing the 650s on stands. Thanks much!
  15. I'm looking at the Bryston PowerPac 300s or their 7BSST (600 watts per channel) or the 4BSST (300 WPC). For my preamp I'm looking at the Bryston SP 1.7. From what I've read on the forum, the RF-7s love current and I know that the PowerPac 300s provide approx. 40 amps of current and the 7BSST is over 60 amps per channel. From what I have read, 600 wpc is total overkill... Thanks
  16. Yes, I was thinking of either 300 or 600 watt monoblocks to each of my two front RF-7s.
  17. Hello, In the process of purchasing an the RF-7 suite and would like to have some opinions on the differences in "sound quality" that I would hear in using a 150 watt amp, a 300 watt amp, or a 600 watt amp. I'm leaning towards seperates including Bryston as my #1 choice. I know that the Klipsch are very efficient, but they also like their power. Thanks in advance!
