  1. It makes you feel something:

    Something so familiar...except death,

excitement about a new pair of speakers, looking forward to tweaking them...its all too real and definately could happen to any of us.

    My prayers.

Unfortunately, I lost three grandparents in a row (within 3 weeks of each other), so death is all too familiar with me.

  2. I swear that at this time of the year, Klipsch-fans seem to die out on the purchases.

I remember back in January-March, I checked Klipsch speakers daily on every used audio site...

and when I used to try to sell my Klipsch, I would always get immediate responses...now its just stagnant.

  3. The SoundBroker is right,

that thing is daunting. I went down to his place and it makes you feel small and insignificant standing right next to it! Hopefully Ill get a chance to hear it once its completed....

then Ill write back on the forums about how my chest was compressed and my heart stopped from so much subsonic goodness!

  4. No, it isnt a servo sub.

It merely has 'comparable/superior' room correction that is a huge factor in subs because room size/shape/layout plays such a huge role in bass performance.

  5. Apparantly there are:

6 12" woofers, 64 2" inverted-dome midrange drivers and 40 3/4" titanium-dome tweeters per speaker. I think they msrp for 30k a pair and need a minimun of 75watts to drive them but can handle up to 2kw...so you have to buy a couple of mcintosh 2kw monoblocks which run you at 30k a piece.

They are rated at something like 16hz-20khz.

    Here is a better picture.

  6. Those rf102's are definately the highest rated in the reference lineup. No wonder so many people dont like to downgrade from a 102 to a 83...thats a whole flipping 19 points!

  7. umm my family of three uses around 100-150 a month.........

You realize he was quoting $400-500 a month in Canadian currency. That only equals to about $120 in US. It also costs more to pipe electricity through frozen wires than thawed. :-) (I hope you all realize I'm kidding. I lived in Canada for a while and I loved it even though I'm from the desert. And my electric bill is only like $85.)

The Canadian dollar is worth 1.10:

    400cd = 363usd.

  8. 2k for a pair of Cornwall III's?!

    THATS AMAZING!

anyone who thinks that is too much, doesnt value Klipsch enough, nor all it has done for the audio industry. Thats ridiculously good pricing...i would buy 3 sets of these for a nice home theatre setup, at this price, if i were close by!

    MSRP for these is 3500.

  9. Relax,

I am 19 and bring in new audio gear monthly...

you have to accustom your parents and if you convince them that this is part of your job, it works. Its the only reason they have tolerated it so far...

on second thoughts, its time to move out.

They are so against it that I even have to pay for the gas if I borrow their van (my little car just cant fit a pair of 'scalas)
