  1. I just purchased a pair of the SS-1 and i don't know how to place them on my wall. the couch is placed against the back wall and i only have one side wall to the left of the couch. would it sound good if i placed the left speaker on the side wall and the right speaker on the back wall or should i place both speakers on the back wall.
  2. what do you guys have your sub setting set to on your sub. like the sub level and crossover settings that are on the sub itself. i just don't want to set mine too high and blow my sub. thanks
  3. i am using an Onkyo tx-sr602. it is a 7.1 a/v surround sound reciever. it has 85 watts per channel. i used the line level input on the sub and connected it to the subwoofer output on my reciever. my front speakers are floorstanding 3-way loudspeakers with a 12" sub in each along with a 6-1/2 mid and hornloaded tweeter. i am also using a rc-25 klipsch center channel. i have not set any settings the speaker setup was supposed to do that but it said i had no sub connected. i set my crossover for my stereo at 100 Hz. it is set at 110 Hz on my sub. also i only have one front speaker hooked up because the left one is getting repaired. thats all i know thanks
  4. I just puchased an MTX 12" subwoofer. once i hooked it all up i did the automatic speaker setup on my onkyo reciever and when it was finished the setup said that I had no subwoofer connected. please let me know what the problem is. Thanks Dom
  5. i have hooked up my dvd and cd player to my revciever using digital coaxial cables. is it bad to also have the analog cable connectors also. my dvd is also using an s-video cable as well as my tv. my question is will having the analog cables hooked up to the dvd and cd player prevent me from enjoying digital sound (PL IIx, and Dolby Digital etc.)?
  6. how are the RC-25 as surround speakers. are they loud enough, how do they sound. i am using RC-25 as center and i have 2 floorstanding front speakers with a 12" sub a 6.5" mid and a 1" tweeter in each floorstanding speaker. i have no subwoofer. are the RC-25's a good choice. also the RC-25 only has power handling of 75 watts but my reciever produces 85 watts per channell is this a problem? thanks
  7. Is there a way that I can connect two subs to my stereo. Do I connect one sub to my reciever and then connect the other sub directly to the first sub or is there a way that I can connect two subs to the same reciever. I want to do this because I heard of a deal at a store that said buy one sub get another one for free. so instead of spending a lot of money on a huge sub I wanted to buy 1 8" sub and then get another one for free and hook them both up to my home theature system.
  8. Where can I get the SVS PB10.
  9. I am looking for a thumping subwoofer. I only want to spend up to $350-$400 at the most. what is the best choice. I also want to go with a 10" or bigger. I want a klipsch but other brands will do because of my price range. any suggestions? Dom Allen
  10. I have two 3-way floorstanding speakers with a 12" sub, a 6-1/2" mid-range and a 1" tweeter in each floorstanding speaker. I also have the Klipsch RC-25 as my center speaker and I have no subwoofer. should I set my Center as small or large. I don't want to blow my center if I set it as large and play movies too loud. but I love the way "Large" makes it sound as opposed to setting it as "small"
  11. how do I fix a crossover problem. do I send in the broken crossover to the manufacturer and have thme send me a new one or can I fix it.
  12. I took both tweeters out from both speakers and the tweeter on the speaker that is having problems the two wires that connect into the tweeter seemed to be very loose when i plugged them back into the tweeter. when I plugged the wires into the tweeter they were so loose that when I placed them back into the spot where it sits the wires just came unhooked. is there a way for me to use plired or something to tighten the metal part of the wires that hook up to the tweeter so they stay on,(is this whats causing the the tweeter to be playing so low I cant hear it.) Also I unscrewed the you screw the speaker wire into (the wire that connects the speaker to reciever) and there was a fuse on the inside of it, it didn't look like it was blown but it was a little cloudy inside of the fuse.
  13. I want to get a subwoofer and I only have 300-400 dollars to spend. I really like the RW-8 because it is a klipsch and it is only $350 or so. My floorstanding speakers have a 12" sub in each of them. my reciever has the option to do a double bass which will play all sound for sub frequencies on both the floorstanding and powered subwoofer during movies. my room where the stereo is is about 400 sq. ft. will the RW-8 be loud enough by itself or should I do the double bass thing and play the sub in the floorstanding and powered sub. thanks in advance, Dom Allen
  14. I have 3 year old DCM floorstanding speakers, (three-way speakers, 1 tweeter,1 midrange, and 1 sub.). After 4 hours of taking the speakers apart and switching recievers and fooling around I found a problem. at first I thought the problem was the tweeter being blown but now I think it is the wires and connections within the speaker itself. I switched the tweeters between the two speakers and the tweeter works fine on the other speaker so it is not blown. I play all of the sound on the speaker that is sounding broken and the sub is the only part of the speaker that is playing sound. I put my ear up to the tweeter and I can faintly hear sound coming from it but the sub is playing at normal range so for me to turn the volume up to be able to hear the tweeter the sub would be playing too loud and would blow. This is all of the info that I have found out and I just want to know what you guys think is the problem I want to know what to tell the manufacturer so they can fix my problem. thanks, Dom Allen
