Shakey - yes and no.... earlier pagodas have dual PCM1704 chips but not the J.. did you mean 0.47uF for the Jupiter capacitors ?... good choice on the upgrades... but CUTF output caps are worth a try... I have a maxed out Havana also.... Gorm - good luck with your sale... great DAC... the PCM1704 "J" chips are supposed to be a higher grade... either way it'll sell

  4. good morning Bruce... I too had Moondogs for almost 20yrs... and Laurels... Ron Welborne in his day had fantastic amps.. well designed and excellent parts... the DRD amps followed that... if I did not have my JFL Horus 2A3 amps I would still own Moondogs... the DRD's use Electraprint PS and OPT... the DRD kits had unfinished bases and I added the Kokopellis... yes...the DDR's are priced to sell... Al
  5. $1300 shipped from Austin, TX (fyi cost of shipping is at least $100 for 3 boxes) Welborne DRD 45 with SS rectification... these have 2.5K OPT's which allow for a conversion to 2A3 amps.... a pair of vintage RCA 45 tubes and a pair of Sovtek 6N1P tubes... manual for assembly of 45 and 2A3 amps... modifications I did : moved the RCA and binding posts to the top plate 10uF Obligatto Gold capacitor (was a Solen) metals film resistors are all Shinko Tantalum (were Caddock) added Hovland 0.1uF bypass capacitors to the 100uF Cerefine and 10uF Obligatto added Auricap 1.0uF bypass capacitor to the 50uF ASC capacitor I built these from a DRD 45 kit... the kit was complete, which at the time was not common with Welborne... but I realized 2.5K OPT's were sent instead of 5.0K... there was no way I could be sure if I sent the OPT's back for an exchange that I would get anything back in return.... already had 2A3 amps so I built the 45 and use the 4 ohm tap.... again, these have 2.5K OPT's wired to the 4 ohm tap for 8 ohm speakers and sound excellent...
  6. perhaps a pair of Welborne DRD 45 / 2A3 amps ?
  7. I think part of the issue here is people are really nice... which is a good thing... they are, for the most part, willing to provide fantastic deals to forum members... it spoils people and I think creates a false sense of entitlement... which leads to assuming or asking for stupid and insulting deals...
  8. had a couple sniffs at $1100... considered it because they live in TX... one never answered an email and one somehow thought the ALK's were included at that price, which is absurd.. anyway if anybody has serious intent let me know... I will include the cane grill cloth for the base bins if you want to match the cloth on top...
  9. " Joe is a great guy! Bump for good gear." ditto
  10. agree with the above... these can be a fun project for someone... again for the buyer I can add Klipsch original cane grill cloth for the bass cabinets... they sound great with new wire and the ALK Universals..
  11. the ALK Universal cost way more then $200 for parts alone... thats why, in my opinion, the price together is a bargain...
  12. bump will be listing on Austin craigslist and Audio Asylum by the weekend
  13. I would sell these without the ALK Universals XO's for $1250
  14. Welborne Labs DRD (Direct Reactance Drive) 300B set amps for sale - $1400 (no tubes) or $1600 with Sophia Princess mesh 300B and Cryoset Russian 6N1P tubes... $75 shipping (3 boxes) I am the original builder and owner... excellent condition... these were a kit and the cost in 2004 was $1550 with no tubes (see receipt)... quality parts throughout... build manual included.. shipping from Austin TX
  15. my Belles are for sale.. $1100... local pickup Austin TX... bought these for a project 20 yrs ago and I realize have taken them as far as I am going to... new Crites tweeter diaphragms, new original Klipsch cane grill cloth on the top hats... new 12 awg silver plated wire and quick disconnects through out... AB XO's... cabinets are scratched, all done by the previous owner... Oak Lacquer...serial 4X682 (1982)... my plan was to refinish, probably veneer... as above, grill cloth on the top hats is new but I will include original Klipsch cane grill cloth for the bass cabinets if the buyer is interested... ..
