  1. Does anyone have the Klipsch Reference Wireless Theater System that consist of  RW-34C center channel speaker, RW-51M front and rear monitors, RW-100SW wireless subwoofer with the Axiim LINK transmitter? I am really interested in purchasing this setup, but I'm not sure it will hook up to my TV (Samsung UHD 4K)

  2. I'm looking at buying the Klipsch Wireless Theater System. This is the description from the website:

A completely wireless and easy to install, true surround sound system that outperforms any sound bar on the market. The Klipsch Reference Wireless line includes the RW-34C center channel speaker, the RW-51M front and rear monitors, and the RW-100SW wireless subwoofer. These speakers can be mixed and matched to create powerful audio systems in any configuration from stereo (2.0) to a big and bold 7.1 theater experience. Reference Wireless products connect with the Axiim LINK Wireless Home Theater Transmitter at the helm.

  3. Hopefully someone can help me understand since I'm a 2 channel guy with very limited knowledge on home theater systems. I've done some reading and discovered that an HDMI ARC port lets you use HDMI as both an input and an audio output. With that said, my TV has an HDMI ARC port. Can someone confirm to me that the Klipsch Reference Wireless Theater System will work using the HDMI ARC port on my TV?

    Thanks,

  4. Looking to part with an Emotiva UPA-2 that I purchased used from an Audiogon member. I purchased the amp for a second room that doesn't get used. The amp is in great condition and everything works as it should. I have the original box for shipping as well it would be double boxed. I will post pictures soon. Asking $300 including shipping and paypal fees.

  5. Thanks Schu for your feedback... I was particularly looking at the Classic 2 because of the "on the fly" adjustments that can be made. I can see myself settling on the Classic 1 as the adjustability is not going to be a deal breaker.

My current table is a Technics SL-1200MK2 with an Ortofon 2M Black playing through a Budgie tube phono pre-amp. My preamp is a McIntosh C46 with Aragon 8008MK2 amp. 60th Anniversary Klipschorns.

My plan is to use the Ortofon 2M Black with the VPI.

  6. I'm interested in purchasing a VPI Classic turntable. Can someone tell me if there are differences in sound quality between the Classic 1,2,3 which is now the signature and 4? I've read reviews the state the signature is the best sounding table... curious if anyone has experiences with these models?

    Thanks

I appreciate everyones comments and recommendations, Thank you!  At it's price point and reviews, I'm really thinking about trying the Budgie Tube Phono Preamp. Since my equipment is ALL solid state, will there be any issues using the Budgie Tube Phono Preamp?

  8. Major caveat on the Technics. The majority were used by djs, and were' not talking high end dj'ing but weddings, bar mistvahs etc.

In other words, many are beat to death and you should have someone with you who knows turntables before completing any purchase.

Also, many have had disco played on them and are sonically compromised as a result.

I appreciate your input on the Technics. The Technics SL-1200mkII that I have was purchased brand new in 1988 by me; therefore I am the original owner. It's in excellent condition and has always been maintained in a pet and smoke free home. I'm currently using a Denon DL-160 with great results.

I'm just looking to upgrade to something better. I hope the Ortofon 2M Black works well with it.

I've never owned anything other than the Technics, but know by the reviews and comments I've read about the VPI's, they must be a great table. That's why I stated I'd like to own one. With that said and after reading what Mallette and Tromprof said about the Technics, I'm hoping it will be staying with me a bit longer.

My system consists of: Aragon 8008BB amps. One for my 60th anniversary Klipschorns and the other for my La Scalas. McIntosh C-46 preamp, Jolida JD-100A CD player, Nakamichi DR2 Cassette Deck and Technics SL-1200mkII Turntable.

Thanks again for all the input. I'll give a report on my experience with the Ortofon 2M black once I get it.

    Thanks,

    Mark

  9. Hello all,

I looking at upgrading my photo cartridge and since my Pre-Amp is a McIntosh C46 and I don't have a separate phono preamp I will be going with a MM cartridge. My turntable is a Technics SL-1200mkII and was wondering what the thoughts were on an Ortofon 2M Black. Thanks,

  10. I have seen these 60th versions up close.. As far as finish and beauty..10+++

I know of one other pair in the USA... That is it..

If this is your ultimate speaker... and like a "weekend only driving car" you have the means to be happy for life with them.... Everyday!!

If you can manage it... I suggest doing it.

Not sure how many pair are in the USA, but I am a lucky owner of a pair. If you have never seen a pair in person, words cannot describe their beauty!
  11. Keep in mind that 'tables and cartridges are not complete substitutes in quality improvement, IMO. I believe they both contribute in different ways, though that's hard to describe. Very good TTs can greatly improve fullness, liveliness, and depth and spaciousness. While carts can do a lot of that, a very good cart will be much smoother and have greater clarity than a so-so unit, and have much less audible record scratch. Best to have both! Smile

To acheive quality improvements such as fullness, liveliness, and depth and spaciousness, can you recommend a TT and cartridge that would better serve me than the Technics SL1200MK2/Denon DL160 in or about the same price range?

    Thanks,

  12. Thanks to all you guys for the great recommendations! I think for now I will continue to use my Technics SL1200MK2 as I just ran across a great deal on a brand new, unopen Denon DL-160 cartridge that I will try out.

My turntable has a good thick platter mat, but I will also look into a JA Michell clamp. I will post my results when I get the cartridge.
