  1. Woodog,

David was a great guy to deal with and was excited to get the KHorns to say the least. He also has the tubes and , more importantly, the room to do them justice.

    Malcom,

It is easier to type in a message and come back a couple hours later than to turn a screwdriver, lol.

I am just curious and wanted to know, that's all.

  2. I am currently looking at the DVDO iScan HD+ after hearing some very positive things about it. I am wondering if it is worth the price tag.

    Current systems includes:

    NAD T763 6.1

    NAD 5000

    Panasonic PT-AE700U

    Fi X (for 2 Channel)

    Sony DVP-S9000ES

3 La Scalas and 3 Heresys

    HSU Research VTF-3 MK2

    and some other stuff

    Thanks-Keith

  3. Just curious, lol.

I am done buying speakers. I am going to stick with 3 La Scalas and 3 Heresys. All just happen to be 1977 vintage and was curious to the crossover in the Heresys.

The cool weather in NC has me pumped to finish this project. It has kicked back into HIGH gear after the discouraging heat wave in NC.

Yesterday was bittersweet for me, sold the K-Horns but picked up my finished LS Center that my distributor finished for me. I think it is as good as you can possibly get a La Scala to look and I am taking a pair to do the same thing to in a couple of weeks.. Will post pics later.

  4. I am going to listen to these locally on Friday. I was going after a pair of cornwalls and the seller offered the Cornwalls but told me I should listen to these first. He said that he preferred "100 to 1" over his cornwalls. I told him that if that was in fact true, I need to hear these.

Any opinions on this model vs. heritage speakers? Also, does anyone have a good idea what fair market value? The pair I am going to hear is "in pristine condition, about 20 years old, finished in walnut veneer."

    Thanks-Keith

I could not agree more regarding this auction. I emailed the seller regarding serial # and pictures. He replied with a few pics. The cabs are in nice shape, NOT new condition. The pics of the back of the cabs showed a lot of wear and dust, not exactly new condition. Also, the price is per speaker.

  6. Sorry Dave,

I just pulled the trigger on a pair of La Scalas in Maryland, so I am no longer interested in any trades at this point.

If anyone is interested, I can deliver or meet on my trek to Maryland to deliver the KHorns. If interested, send an offer my way. I can get pics sent to an email, but you can also search previous posts with the pictures available.

These will be posted on Audiogon in a couple of weeks, but would much rather sell to a forum member.

Dave, if you are interested in a purchase of the Khorns, I am picking up my center La Scala in High Point, NC in a few weeks to make a trip a little shorter for you. Your mint Corns will be easy to sell on this forum, I can assure you.

    Thanks for the interest.

    Keith

  7. That is my dilemma. I would definitely sell the La Scala to go with three cornwalls if I were to choose that route. I am also selling Khorns (unfortunately) so I will have some dough left for a nice sub.

I have put so much into refinishing my center, I am leaning towards La Scalas across the front.

    Thanks for the input.

    Keith

  8. I am having a tough time deciding between the two. I had Khorns planned for the mains but it did not work out and I already refinished a La Scala for use as a center channel (absolutely beautiful gloss black that would make Steinway jealous).

I already have heresys for rears effects for 7.1 in place.

    Any thoughts?

  9. All original, very nice cosmetics. A few very minor veneer ships but all can be easliy repaired. Face and tops are near perfect.

These were going in my attic HT to fit snugly in the corners, but due to necessary alterations along the roof rafters, the fit will be too tight. A tough dilemma, build my attic to code or keep the Khorns. Argg. Damn building inspector - I knew I shouldn't have pulled a permit.

Entertaining trades for Cornwalls, La Scala, or Belles.

Search pics under previous posts if interested. They are snug in my office and it will be a huge ordeal to get the serial numbers. I will do that in a week or so. Just trying to gauge interest before I move these beasts.

Send email to keithmcg@nc.rr.com if interested.

  10. The Khorn will be very snug and I could reframe the side walls to six feet without much problem. I am going to add another layer of sub floor with green glue.

I got a nice case of sticker shock with the quotes I have received, so I going to take my time and do it myself, except subbing the drywall and electrical. I am estimating a four month project.
