The svs subs will sound great with the Ultra 2's. But I think a 5.1 would sound much better than a 7.1. The ks-525thx surrounds will cover the back area easily. The 2 svs subs will be much, much stronger than the 2 klipsch subs. Sound the same in speed and accuracy. Same prive too.

Hi, I am selling my awesome THX ultra 2 front and side speakers. I used them for about 8 months. They are in very good condition. Some minor scratches on the bottom of a couple from placement. I purchased them from a dealer with the 5 year warranty. I have all boxes and packing material. I am selling because I have found my favorite all time speaker for good price and I am going that route. I hope I am making the right decision since it has been a while since I heard them. I will take $2500 for all plus shipping. I will only ship to the continental US. Thanks

I think all the disney movies are some of the best sounding movies. I have to agree that most of the THX dvd's do sound really good. James

I am not a troll, That carol cable looks really good. Does the oxygen free cable lasts longer, as I know cable sounds the same. If it lasts longer I will maybe buy the cobalt in wall which is oxygen free. You are right about the extension cord as sometimes It produces noise, only sometimes, sounds great though. James

What does troll mean in this case? Thanks for the input, I will scrap the extension cord, anticable(magnet wire) ideas and go with a true in wall cable. I can afford the expensive stuff but won't spend more than $1.00 /ft. Thanks

I have 2 sets of cables that I have been using. I never really a/b'd them before until tonight and yes and did hear a difference. I compared my Outlaw IC's with my Silver IC's and had them hooked up for 2 channel only. What I noticed is that the Outlaw's were brighter. Not harsh but maybe if I turned it up a little it would be. The silver IC's were similar but not as bright. Then I had my wife listen to the difference(she did not know which cable I was using). She also can hear at higher frequencies than I can. She basically said the same. She liked the silver's better and thought they had more dynamics too. I wish I can find the guy on audiogon I bought these from, they were about the same price as my outlaws but I cannot find anymore, too bad, I need some more. My question is I thought silver was supposed to sound brighter and not the other way around. Can anyone explain this? It is very hard for me to hear a difference between speaker cable,I never tried silver, but I did hear a difference between these. James

I have the 650's. Have you guys tried magnet wire? I don't know if it will be suitable for in walls. I would like to use 10 or 12 gauge, fits my connectors well. Has anyone tried extention cord and then speaker wire to see if there is an audible difference?

BTW, I am using 10 gauge extension cord right now with great results. I don't know if I can or should use it for in walls.

That is difficult to answer since it is my opinion. I liked my M&K speakers for the best of both worlds. I went with klipsch THX ultra2 because it was better for movies and for music it depends on who is listening. To me nothing beats the THX ultra 2 for movies except maybe the heritage stuff(never heard them and more expensive). To me for 2 channel audio it sounds like the vocals are about 5 feet dead center from my listening position 14 feet away. Very clear without any harshness.

What I mean is I want a good signal to pass through to my speakers(thx ultra 2) without any loss, or as little as possible. The speakers will be in the wall behind the screen. No cables will be visible.

I am building my theater and wanted to use in wall speaker cables. Do you guys know which would be the best? I am not interested in expensive wire, these will not be seen. I am looking for a transparent wire that is safe in the wall. I have looked at cobalt($1.05/ft), Kimber($1.25/ft), and anticables($1.25/ft)I am not even sure if the anticables can be put in the wall. I am now using the ADA suite 7.1 and a sherbourn 7 channel 200 watt amp. Very nice. Does it sound better than the Mac stuff?. I think it sounds very similar with more power and better dynamics now. I saved alot of money. I am very impressed. I would highly recommend this stuff with klipsch. James

Thanks, right now I have the brightness all the way down and according to my thx optimizer it is still too bright. I will keep you posted and take some pics when I get the theater finished. Just bought the seats. James

I have it set up for a 110 inch screen right now and hdtv never looked better, and it is not even adjusted correctly.

I have a sony 1272. The room will be windowless and dark. That projector's default settings are for 120 inches. I doubt I will even have a 150 inch due to the ceiling height.
