  1. So is it safe to assume that as long as, excursion is kept to a minimum (visibly), then there should also be less movement and less heat? But then you say that, underpowering a speaker is bad as well (clipping comes in when you try to get too much power out of the amp, and it just can do it)? You can hear amp clipping, I have never pushed this reciever to this level, so should I be fine as far as the volume I have played it at so far (no clipping, no distortion, etc) , and assume that I amnot over/underpowering these speakers? Besides if anyone has ears that can take what I have heard then it won't be long before you go deaf. Thanks Klipsch for a great product.
  2. Thanks BigDaddy, this is what I have assume, any other opinions are welcome as well.
  3. I have a Yamaha rxv-661 which outputs 90w per channel 7.1 I have a rc-52, and a pair of rf-52, SWS sub. Theoretically I assume since each speakers handles at least 100w rms, then it should be impossible to blow these speakers with this reciever. But i know thats not how life works, because of bass overheating the voice coil. But then again I wouldn't want to turn it up to this point because I would be deaf in no time. What I am asking is what really causes a speakers to be blown. I have the cross over on the mains and center on small/90 hz to keep excursion down. So should i be safe even at higher volumes, cause I just want to test to see how lound can they become before they distort a little, which I have achived ear bleeding volumes, but they still manage to stay clear. Secondly If the speakers are still clear is it safe to assume that no harm is being done, such as an overheating voice coil.
  4. I am finally 3.1/5.1 of the way finished. rc-52 and now the pair of rf-52 Whoever said that the rf-52 bass response require a sub, must like to hear everything shake around which these can do alone. I have completely turned off my sub and there is still enough bass to be felt and heard without any stuggling. More so i might not have the largest environment but these have no problem filling this area. I also read on the forum that the f-3 sound better that the lower rf line. NO! they don't I have yet to hear and ounce of distortion out of these, while as my friend who has the f-3 BB discount, and he turned them up, and the speakers just popped trying to reproduce the bass. Their is also a huge tone different between the two lines, but this is all just my opinion.
  5. I have a rc-52, and I am looking to purchase my mains now. The room that this will be in is medium to small in size (20'x30') I have been looking at the RB-61 (I test the the rb-51 and loved them, and I also assume that the rb-61 will be even better) or RF-52 which i haven't heard (and worst case the rf-62(which I have heard in magnolia home theater, and i like them)) I do have a sub which can make up for the lack of bass(i.e. I won't be pushing bass out of the 5 1/4 or the 6.5s). What I am asking is for the money (will the rb-61 (one 6.5) suffice for spl(even though i was satisfied with the rb-51, or are the rf-52 sound better than both the bookshelfs mentioned.) I really don't wanna spend over 550$.
  6. Hey come on now what about that backseat action. Epiphany is a good cd overall.
  7. nevermind its turned out to be a nick in the wire.
  8. Quick Question? I think I may need to purchase a new amp(reciever), cause with some songs, my pioneers(vsx-516) overload comes on, at the range of -30 db to -20 db. I think the klipsch pulls a higher current that the cheap pioneer can't handle.
  9. The voices had already started, but the size of the room won't let the voices in.
  10. I must say first "real" klipsch system. I also have the promedia Ultras, but the just don't compare at all. Yeah Atlanta traffic is crazy, but I guess you have to get used to it. Its funny though, I don't even know if I want the Rf-62s now, cause i love these just that much. And I'm sure the rf-62 handle a lot more, but they are also five times larger.
  11. Pioneer VSX 516 (its a cheap reciever), but its amazing. I was going to get the rf-62, but these continue to amaze me, the more and more I listen to them. Even without adjusting the crossover they don't distort at -25 db. And that more that loud enough.
  12. i just bought a pair of the rb-51, and I am stoked about the performance. How is this much bass even possible, I don't even run my sub, and I get more that acceptable bass. Clarity is amazing, all I can say is thank you KLIPSCH for making these amazing bookshelfs. And to think I was about to get the B-3's.
  13. hey fordguy, do you still have anymore for sell.
