  1. I have a virtually mint Akai GX-630-SS, direct drive, Reel to Reel deck for sale. Last month is was professionally restored by Luis Galvez at Stereoadvior in Sacramento California. Luis was trained by Akai to be a factory authorized technician back in the day. He was the old Pacific Stereo's technician for R2R decks in the San Francisco Bay Area. There aren't many of those guys around nowadays. I have the receipt of the work that was done which I will include. The deck plays and records perfectly though I have only recorded two track. Everything works as it should. It's a stereo/multi channel system with four channel/four track or two channel/two track play and record. The GX glass and ferrite heads are virtually indestructible. It will accept up to 10.5" reels, 3 3/4 and 7 1/5 ips. I will include a 10.5" metal take-up reel with two hubs and a 7" plastic take-up reel. I don't think you will find a nicer one of these beautiful decks. They say "Tape is the new Vinyl" and I agree. It is the best and most accurate way to listen to recorded music IMHO. I will have it professionally packed and fully insured by FedEx. Local Pick-up is welcome in Redding CA. For local pick-up only, I will included several home recordings I received with the deck. Most made in the early to mid 70's. I will include a downloaded copy of the operators manual and throw in four quality 1 meter patch cords. This is a beautiful machine and will give you many years of great music! Why am I selling it you ask? My wife and daughter decided "we" need to take four of our grandchildren to Disneyland this summer. That Mouse can certainly drain the old bank account! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask, thank you! I am asking $650.00 plus shipping. I can do Paypal or Postal Money Order for payment.
  2. Any chance you will be coming North in the near future, say The Bay Area?

In case it gets removed, here's the text. "Yesterday my Pa was driving a load of turnips into town and I accidentally fell off the truck. I decided to just wait where I was for his return trip. A man approached me and said he was the wallet inspector and needed to check my wallet for counterfeit money. I gave him my wallet and he looked through it. He said several of the bills looked suspicious and told me he needed to take my wallet into the station for further examination. Does anyone know how long a wallet inspection takes? I've been standing here all day waiting for him to return. Signed Billy Hill"

https://redding.craigslist.org/msg/5587358722.html It gave me a chuckle even on a Monday!
  5. I am the original owner of this DAC and it has served me well for a couple of years. Recently I purchased a Marantz CD player that will support Apple devices so I no longer need the HRT. It works perfect and is big improvement in overall sound quality IMHO. It is designed for the iPod, iPhone and iPad. It has a 34 bit converter that supports 32K, 44.1K and 48K sample rates and an on board 2.1 amp charge management system. It keeps your device charged and you are using AC instead of the battery. I used it with my iPod 4 touch with great success. I tried it with my wife's iPhone 6 and the latest iPad and it works great with those devices. It is also designed and manufactured in Southern California. It comes with the original box, wall charger and cable, older Apple connector for the iPod/iPhone 4 and original patch cord. It will be double boxed with extra packing material for safe shipping via USPS Priority Mail. I'm asking $100 which will include shipping to The Continental US. I prefer Paypal Friend's And Family or Postal MO. Thank You
  6. I love my 2270 but it's not as purdy' as yours. The laid back top end makes it a perfect SS choice for most Klipsch speakers IMHO. GLWS
  7. I am reducing the price to $300 shipped with both quads of tubes. I would do $250 shipped with one quad of your choosing. Thanks!
  8. I should mention I am selling this to help with a restoration of a Marantz 2270. Decided to go with vintage SS.
  9. Maybe someone more skilled than I can look at the pictures and answer that question. Maybe those big yellow caps underneath? As I mentioned, the tech that did the work is not able to tell me what all was done or when. I do know it works and sounds great save for a bit of scratch in the volume knob. A friend of mine said that may be a solder joint but not sure.
  10. The craziness continues. I am offering this back up for sale.
  11. Hello, Sorry, I don't have information on them any longer.
  12. The amp is sold. Thanks to everyone who posted and showed interest.
  13. Thanks Craig, I appreciate the information!
  14. I found a couple of Raytheon 6BL8's, Japan, that I put in the amp. I have been listening for about an hour without issue. They will be included as well. All the pre-amp tubes are GE or Sylvania JAN 12AX7WA's and test very good. One Sylvania tested as new on both sides on my friend's Eico tester. I have it in the phono section. That is the tube on the far left when looking from the front. Attached is a picture of the old parts. Thanks!
  15. Thanks guys, I appreciate the props. To sweeten the deal, I will throw in a low hour quad of Sovtec EL84M power tubes. I will make sure there is a strong balanced 12AX7 for the phono section. It's a bit sensitive to poor tubes. I'll dig around, I thing I have a couple untested 6GH8A's and 6BL8 driver tubes. I believe those are interchangeable. I will try to find them.
  16. HH Scott 299a integrated tube amp. Cosmetically it is in very nice condition but no case, sorry. A friend of mine who is an excellent tech. did the restoration. He replaced most all of the caps under the hood. He hung one filter cap, the rest are original and working fine. He also replaced the bridge rectifier with diodes. He had to fashion the left front lamp as the original was missing. It's a bit brighter than the original but looks and works fine. I will include the old parts. Tubes are a quad of very good testing Reflector power tubes, equivalent of 7189's, drivers are Scott labeled Amperex, low hour JJ 5AR4, 12AX7's are strong testing vintage US tubes. It sounds and works great with no noise that I can hear. I will pack it very well and ship via UPS ground or FedEx, whichever the buyer prefers. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I would like $500 for it which will included shipping to the lower 48 and insurance. Payment via MO or Paypal Friends and Family. Thanks!
  17. Crazy hobby, something has come up and I have decided to keep the Dynaco.
  18. Thank you duder, that was my thought.
  19. I am selling my PAS 2 that has had some restoration work done in the past. It works and sounds great and is in very nice condition. This has the silver face, same as the PAS 3. Cosmetically, there are a few scratches and part of the back label is missing. All the important information is there. Sonically, the only minor issue is sometimes there is a bit of distortion when turning the volume knob. I acquired this from a long retired electronics tech. who's memory is sadly failing. He couldn't remember all the information on the restoration or when it was done. Most of the caps have been replaced with orange drops. There are a couple of larger yellow caps underneath. It still has the selenium rectifier and other original components. I have tried all the inputs and, again, it sounds great. I will include a very good testing quad of Telefunken 12AX7's. I will also throw in two strong testing RCA labeled Mullards and a pair of vintage JAN 12AX7WA's. I have others we can discuss. I'm asking $300, $250 for one quad, OBO which will include packing, shipping and insurance via FedEx ground. I will try to any questions the best I can. Thank You!
  20. I just missed out on "The Posting has been deleted by it's author."
  21. Strange how this thread about Tom Brady being a cheater has morphed into red heads washing cars? Not that I'm complaining but I just can't quite wrap my head around it. Now if Gisele Bundchen was washing cars.........................
  22. Destroying his cell phone is the act of an innocent man, right??? IMHO, he's guilty as the day is long and deserves everything he gets. It was noted by some of the guys on ESPN that Goodell works for the owners. It is likely they, except Kraft, are tired of getting beaten by The Pats and all the violations recently.
  23. I would take $1K for them if you come and get them in Redding, CA. Thanks
