  1. Scottwest, Great picture. But, How did you mount your Center?? Tooms
  2. Mart, What was the outcome??? How does it sound?? Big Tooms
  3. Where do you put the wonderfully huge center channel w/ a DLP TV, 50 + inches.
  4. Dr Who, Won't there be an issue w/ the sub's higher frequencies being directional??? No fan of that either. Tooms
  5. Don't forget the main or front L + R pre amp outs to the subs for added bass.... I would use the previously mentioned y connector for the sub pre amp out to each sub. In addition run each front L+R pre amp out to the other input on the subs....
  6. I am in the market for some Flat Panel Speakers. When I went to a local Klipsch dealer I hear a huge Audio hole from the SLX's and the sub. I think it is with all flat panel type speakers. I wanted to put a plasma on the wall w/ sexy flat panel speakers but, I cannot get buy the hole on the sound. Am I crazy?? I have a 2nd home theater w/ KG 5.5's, KV 3, KG .5's and KSW 15. I think I am spoiled. Is there a way to fill the hole??
  7. Foxkat, I know it is not the surrounds. When a local shop repairs the coil, do they have to replace the cone as well. If so will it change the sound/efficiency of the speaker??? I know Klipsch nolonger makes the KG 5.2 woofer, could I use a KG 5.5 driver?
  8. I am getting a mid range crackle. Klipsch no longer makes the active driver on my 5.2s'. Is it better to have them repaired at a local speaker shop or is it better to purchase 2, 10" drivers for KG 5.5s. Thanks, Tooms [*-)]
  9. My 10' active drivers in my KG 5.2s' are blown. I called Klipsch and they no longer produce the 10' active driver on the KG 5.2s' and that I might have them repaired by someone else (aftermarket). Would I be better off w/ a KG 5.5 driver vs. an aftermarket driver???
  10. Jolly Green Giant, I purchased a pair online 2-3 yrs ago and paid $200.00 for the pair. That might have something to do with the interest. Big Tooms
  11. Speedball, Thanks, I usually have keen eye for the obvious. But, as I can see, not always. Once i find out, any idea how to get them repaired? Thanks, Big Tooms
  12. I have a pair of KG 5.2's and on certain tracks I get a crackling sound from the mid range. I cannot tell if it is the tweeter or the 8" driver. How can I figure this out? And how do I get either the tweeter or the woffer repaired?
  13. Tim, I'm surprised it took some time w/ your HK rep. They have known about this for years. I had my issues back in 2000-2001. Mike
  14. That same thought came to me as I hit Post. Just the same, I was curious to see what the forum had to say.
  15. Wow!! too deep for me. Here's my question. HK AVR500, KSW15. 15 foot Radio Shack (I think, not Monster or anything)RCAs connecting both L&R&Sub Out to the back of my sub?
  16. I own a KSW 15. It is on a carpeted cement floor in a finished room in my basement. I see several other down firing subs have a flat platform on the bottom. Would I get better response w/ a peice of plywood or something under my sub other than carpet?
  17. Tim, I had the same problem w/ the AVR500 a few years ago. After several months w/ Customer Service, I called the PR Contact and he addressed the issue. It has something to do with the Logic 7. Is it only in Logic 7?? The receiver was replaced and do not have the problem any more. Mike
  18. I have an HK AVR500 and had crackling / high pitch distorsion issues w/ my center channel in Logic 7. Try changing the surround mode to something other than logic 7 and see if it still happens. I went back and forth w/ HK technical help for 6 months with no resolve. I have 2 friends who had the same receiver and the same problem. I went to a circut city and was able to produce the same problem there. I called Public Relations and spoke to someone. I asked them to listen to Dave Mathews Crash CD in logic 7 and call me. HK took the 3 receivers back and sent us new ones after they fixed the problem. No issues since.
