  1. I lied in my prior thread. The Cd Player skips due to vibration. Many times, it's while I am playing drums to some tunes. Sometimes, it skips when playing loud w/o drums. I played it and stomped my foot a little (not like jumping up and down). It skips. That said, it's a HK HD7600 CD Player. I thought CD Players were able to deal w/this type of vibration. What about the ones in cars? They seem to take alot more than I dish out playing drums. Is it time for a new CD Player? I wish not. But if so, what's a decent player that handles vibrations really well? Is my HD7600 (bought new in the late 80's) just old technology that's since improved re: handling vibrations?
  2. On the Cd Player that skips, I removed cover. Eye and track are clean - no debris causing problems. I saw your reference to adjustment screws but do not see the screws. CD Player is Harmon Kardon Model HD7600. KNow anything about this model in terms of where its adjustment screws are? Also need to know which screw adjusts what, and what direction to turn them. Thanks. Anyone else fell free to chime in.
  3. "Out of Focus" by Blue Cheer. Next: "You thought the leaden winter would bring you down forever, But you rode upon a steamer to the violence of the sun." Name that Tune!
  4. Stuck? Here's another hint. The album containing this tune has on its cover a picture of an Armadillo/Army Tank Monster.
  5. "The Road to Hell" by Chris Rhea. My earlier tune was "The Music Must Change" by the Who. Now for a new challenge: "The preacher said a prayer. Save evry single hair on his head. Hes dead. The minister of hate had just arrived to be spared. Who cared? The weaver in the web that he made!" Name that Tune!
  6. You're warm! More lyrics: "Sometimes at night, I wake up and my body's like ice The sound of the running wild stallion, the noise of the mice And I wondered if then I could hear into all of your dreams I realize now it was really the sound of your screams But death always leads into life But the street fighter swallows the knife Am I so crazy to feel that it's here prearranged?" Name that Tune!
  7. Looks like Justonemore is out of pocket, though he's left everyone stumped. Gotta interject here and post a new challenge. Lyrics: "Deep in the back of my mind is an unrealized sound Every feeling I get from the street says it soon could be found When I hear the cold lies of the pusher, I know it exists It's confirmed in the eyes of the kids, emphasized with their fists But the high has to rise from the low Like volcanoes explode through the snow The mosquito's sting brings a dream But the poison's derange" Name that Tune!
  8. Hey, Audiobliss! Congrats! You've been in this from the beginning. It's like we sort of "debugged" this game together. ......errrrrr. Don't know your tune..... yet![]
  9. Okay, Sputnik! We're gonna have to ban you for giving us all these "impossibles." [] First, Star Trekkin' off of Dr. Demento. Then, Jerry Garcia off of Panama Red when he was in the New Riders. Now, this? Just kidding. .... But I have no idea.
  10. I think you stumped us. Want to give it up and try a new challenge?
  11. Dr. Who, good to see you again. Thanks for the reply. Is there something you insert like a CD that cleans, or do I take off the whole shroud and get to it that way?
  12. That was cute! It must have aired on the "Dr. Demento Show." Don't tell me this is the same band, The Firm, that was composed of Jimmy Paige, Paul Rogers, etc. that performed "Radioactive."
  13. Okay, my CD-Player skips. I don't think it's due to vibration. It'll play fine at loud volumes.... but later in the CD, it skips.... like it's some sort of "fatigue" or something. Any way to treat this ailment?
  14. You're old, Sputnik! I'm wondering what this song is.... sounds like something out of Star Trek!
  15. Our thread is now listed in the "MOST POPULAR" category for receiving the most posts! The more people that join our game, the better it will be. Encourage others to join in on the fun.
  16. I know this one...... It's on the tip of my tongue. No more hints. I'll get it. Ah, yes! It's "The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys" by Traffic. Next (similar lyrics, different tune): "But dont be fooled by the radio The tv or the magazines They show you photographs of how your life should be But theyre just someone elses fantasy" Name that Tune!
  17. Hint: The lead guitarist is the name of the band. He is apparently a staunch Republican and is joked about as knowing only 3 chords. He has lots of good classic rock tunes.
  18. "Lay Lady Lay" by Bob Dylan. Next: "Kamikaze from the 100th floor. Swan dive to the street." Name that Tune!
  19. Sputnik, I think you stumped everyone! Want to try a new challenge? ..................not "Whip Me, Beat Me, Call Me Edna," either!
  20. Audiobliss, you were correct. It was "Never Been Any Reason" by Head East (good tune[]). I have no idea what yours is..... yet!
