  1. Well I'm from Chicago, so the sausage looks good. The rest is whacked. Totally wrong. Looks like a drink I mixed in college mixed with a fishtank.

Whacked? Now Kev, us southerners would consider that an insult if we didn't know how you yankee's are?[;)] That pot of crabs has corn on the cob, boiled potatoes, seasonings and crabs. You yankees don't eat corn or potatoes or lobster or king crab?[*-)]

  2. A bit different here,

    ...........r o l l it, p r i c k it, and mark it with a ( use 1st initial of childs name. In this case> "T"),

put it in the oven, for (Toddy) and me.

    Us southerners are more personable.[H]

This is very close to the version that has been handed down to our three daughters and four grandchildren.

    Patty cake, patty cake

Baker's man, bake me a cake as fast as you can

Roll it, pat it, mark it with a T and

put it in the oven for Todd and me.

I didn't realize there were so many versions of Patty Cake. Where is Amy when we need her?[;)]

  3. I really appreciate all the input from you guys and I would have to agree with the statement that the Forte II is like the smart *ss little brother to the Cornwall.

Our new Cornwall III's are very sweet sounding, however I am honestly surprised at a side by side comparison of the Forte II with the Cornwall III's.

Most of you guys that have actually had the opportunity to listen to both sets of speakers are right on in your assessments.

I do believe the Cornwall III is a marked improvement over the previous Cornwall's, more particularly in the bass. The highs and mid-ranges are also very realistic. (This opinion is based on one previous audition of Cornwall's in a "not so favorable" listening environment.)

Our 2 pair of Forte IIs are 20+ years old and are all factory original parts. That being said, the Cornwall IIIs rock and roll. However I do believe the Forte IIs will be knocking on their back door when we finally get around to "upgrading" the "smart *ss quadruplets"

  4. Fish: Email her and explain what it means,she didn't, I think I do we'll see ?

I am guessing Dtel's wife thought it meant Matthew 4:19 and Dtel thought Fish was waiting for the clock to strike 4:20 [;)]. Am I close? [:^)]

That's what i thought. I think I read about that 4:20 thing on a post a good while back, really. I think that 4:20 thing was made up after my wild years ?

    Elden,

What do you mean "after your wild years"? You have got to be kidding! You shouldn't mislead these folks like that![;)]

  5. Almost but not quite. After all I am a legend in my own mind, and I soon ascertain whats going on, the damned truants have been holding their fire until I left town. No longer charged with having to respond to threads about music, exploding amps and hot chicks, they are free to indulge themselves in just playing with toys. Swap it, trade it, buy it, roll-around on the floor with it. Schools out and we are going to play.

Okay, okay you caught us. It sure has been fun just playing, sure you don't want to join us for awhile![;)]

  6. Dagnabit, it's been 9 months since I visited the folks back home. Made an easy flt from Tulsa to DFW. 2 hour layover, grab a bite to eat and log-on to the DFW wireless network.

tick, tick tick goes the clock and gilberts busy type-talking with his bone head buddy's here on the klipsch forum. tick tick tick, gilbert looks up at the over head and notices.... Gate Change for Laredo.... Shitzille I says (sorry snoop dog), because I've got less than 1min to make it. So I gives her all I got with this 44yr old body, and too late.... We're sooo sorry sir, I feel bad for you, (yea, me too) .....

Can I book you on the next flight... Duh! Nah, I'll just spend the night here, nothing new right....

AAAaaaah! Fini, and Travis it's your fault![;)]

    Gilbert,

I am having a "spitting Coke at the computer monitor" moment. This story beats all I have ever heard on this forum. And it is a true story nonetheless.

We need to give you the "Forum Best Story" award for this one, and to think you want to give Professor Fini and Travis all the credit.

    Nope...no sir...no addiction here![;)]

  7. Numbers are magic, this one always freeks me out;

What is the best time to go to the dentist? 2:30 (tooth hurty)

Woah... I haven't heard that joke since probably junior high, and the person who works right across from me said it just yesterday. Now that's freaky.

Amy, how you can be sure it's not coincidence?[*-)] Or something to do with us discussing numbers?[*-)] Or maybe it's both or neither?[*-)]

Strangest thing, you haven't heard that joke about time since you were in junior high, we are discussing time and all of a sudden the joke is coming at you from two different ways?[*-)]

  8. At the time of these revelations we had three granchildren (1 boy, three girls).

    Um . . .

    1 boy + 3 girls = 4 kids

Thank you WS65711, I was having an ADD moment in the story telling.

I should have written, "At the time of these revelations we had three grandchildren(1 boy, two girls), although we have since been blessed with a fourth grandchild, a girl."

    Fish, thank you, also.[:o]

  9. Seems like Klipsch at one time or another had a speaker to fit EVERY need the audiophile had..............kinda interesting really............a different level of speaker, in a certain price range...................The more I read about PWK the smarter he becomes..........All Klipsch speakers are nice......Take your pick.........

When dtel became interested in Klipsch I listened to everything he told me about the speakers, the company and PWK, he really didn't give me any choice about the "listening to him" part. He made sure he had my attention.

I thought okay, okay here we go again. He's just wanting to buy more hi-fi stuff. We purchased a mid-range Synergy set up, (2 fronts, 2 rears and a center). Even in the $1200-$1700 price range there was nothing comparable for quality of sound. I thought the "bug" had passed when we purchased the Synergys.

As dtel became more active in the forum, he talked incessantly (you guys know who you are) about KIipsch, and the Heritage line and PWK. All the while demanding my full undivided attention, as much as possible. (I am ADD so the full attention thing takes a little while sometimes, especially if I forget to take my medicine)

Once I started reading on the forum regularly I became a member. I am of course, in the minority here because I am a female.

That being said, I am completely in awe of the genius of PWK. The more I read and hear about this man, the more fascinating he becomes. One comment we heard from a lifelong resident of Hope(and not a Klipsch employee), "Everyone knew he was the town genius".

I have not seen another company as generous and caring as Klipsch.(again, I don't mean the new Cornwall III's) The relationship they have developed with ELF, a regular company sponsored gathering for "fans", a forum that mainly serves the fans(we are a good marketing team for them!!!) just to name a few.

Even the lowest of the lowest Klipsch product outpaces its competitor.

Finally, the quality of the Heritage line speaks for itself and is by far the highest quallity product line Klipsch has. I do not believe there is another product(of any kind) being made in America that can compete with the quality coming out of the factory in Hope, AR.

Just don't ask me about the "electronic" stuff.[;)]

  10. Thank You so much for those pictures, very interesting manufacturing process!

#1977...nice saw #2047...wonder what she is doing? #2056...nice color change #2104...big speaker #2121...really big speakers.

My friend #2047 is Ms. Judy McBay, she and Richard Baker, the guy in the paint booth are in charge of "finishing." If I am correct, Ms. Judy, has 28 years with Klipsch, finishing. She is the person that gets the "raw" cabinets ready for paint, stain, lacquer.

Ms. Judy personally runs her hand over every square inch of a Heritage product before it is painted, stained, lacquered, etc. I believe we were told her hands were tested and she can feel l/1000 of an inch difference in wood. Pretty unbelievable huh?

Under Two Channel, The New Cornwall III's are in the house, is a certificate the good folks at the plant had signed for us.

Surprisingly, I do not consider them to be big speakers, although most women probably would. In fact, I am honored to have these speakers in my home.

Actually, the new LaScalas are also beautiful. We saw a pair on the plant tour in Walnut Lacquer and they were spectacular.

  11. Who took the pics?

That Mr. Larry is a very good question. I will email Ms Donna and inquire, I would also like to know what kind of camera was used.

The ones in our home were taken by dtel an our future son-in-law, Johnny. The pic of the PWK logo is certainly one of my favorites. I will inquire as to what type of camera Johnny used.

The box photo(in the house) and the group photo (in the house) were taken with a Kodak Easy Share 4530, 5.0 megapixel.

  12. We brought our new Cornwall III's all the home from Hope, AR on thier sides. They were boxed, not that would make a difference other than protecting the finish.

Our Cornwall III's seem to be in perfect working order, even after riding eight hours on thier sides!!

Good luck and enjoy. Be sure to post again and let us know once you have them.

    Christy

  13. probably Oct 3-10 or something close to that. I'm going to arrive early to get to know folks, check out N.O. (what's left of it), and see the wedding site.

Going to probably ship my camera gear down there UPS a couple weeks prior, just to know that they get there safely. I don't trust Airline baggage and being electronic, doubt that I can take them on board.

    M

    Michael,

You are more than welcome to come during the week of Oct 3-10, however, we do hope you will be here for that triple wedding ceremony we have been talking about. That ceremony will be December 10, 2006, so maybe you could make it then also.[;)]

  14. I am sorry SamS, I thought dtel had responded to your question. We had three choices, black, cherry laquer or walnut laquer to choose from. We had seen the walnut veneer on our tour of the plant the day previous to dtel's name being pulled from the hat. Normally we would have picked cherry, but the walnut was so beautiful, we chose walnut.

Right after dtel won Klipsch went to work to find out what finish we wanted. The plant manager told us the walnut veneer was some of the prettiest Klipsch had gotten in a long time. Having seen it for ourselves we knew he was right on.

Also, we had seen a pair of the new LaScalas in the new walnut veneer when we toured the plant. We thought if our Cornwall's looked anything like those LaScalas they would be beautiful. And they are.

There are some more pics coming that show the grain of this walnut. The grain is matched perfect, meaning it goes up one side, across the top and down the other side. These speakers appeared so perfect in every way, that dtel looked over every inch to find a flaw. There is not one flaw anywhere. He normally would not be that picky, but they looked so perfect he tried to find a flaw. Again, there is not a flaw anywhere on these speakers. They are truly a work of art and the folks in the plant should be darn proud of the work they do.

Our neighbor who is about twelve years older than us and also does woodworking came by to see the Cornwalls. He looked them over and could not believe the quality of the work. He also said you just don't find woodworking done at this level anymore.

We spent quite a while just trying to get the proper lighting so you guys could see the grain. It was kind of difficult because we have so many windows in our living area. The pics just sent to cyclonecj are of the Cornwalls in the house. I know he will get them up for you guys as soon as he can.

If any of you want pictures of anything else let us know, we will take the pics and get them up. We didn't want to "bore" you guys with our new found "love".

The grain is indeed very beautiful! Is the finish a laquer, or oiled?

    We could only choose laquer.

  15. If you guys are still active on the forum let us know. Dtel has something he wants to tell you. You guys really impressed him at the Pilgrimage.[*]

This is another one of those small things that happened at the Pilgrimage and we can't go without mentioning these folks.

Earsonly has a total of four posts on the forum and his brother Sweetspot, well I am not sure if he has any posts. Anyway, we met Earsonly on Friday, he shared our picnic table while we ate that wonderful fried catfish dinner.

On Saturday evening, we had the priviledge of meeting Earsonly's wife, brother and sister in law. We sat at thier table during the concert. When Trey announced the second drawing was about to be held, these four people began chanting dtel, dtel, dtel, you are going to win a new pair of speakers, dtel, dtel...and all the while they were chanting, they were waving thier hands at him (kind of like a preacher praying over you)

This chanting went on while Trey was gathering the troops from in the farmhouse and getting his daughter to come on stage and pull the name from the hat. It seemed liked few minutes of chanting, sort of "trance like". Then, the strangest thing happened, dtel's name came out of the hat.

These four people were really pulling for dtel's name to be pulled. It was a very unselfish act on thier part and we should not have waited so long to tell this story.

All we can say, is "You guys are good, real good". Once again, a big thank you to all of you.

I am wondering if this isn't one of those "strange happenings"? I sure hope you guys answer this post.

  16. Wow, what a great Pilgrimage! Thanks to Me Loves Klipschorns for

giving people a chance to hear them unchained. Thanks to Dtel and

Dtel's wife for all the fun. Congrats on the Cornwall iii"s. A Giant thanks

to Amy, Trey, Steve,Jim and Mark and Joy! It surely is a FAMILY event

at Klipsch. The whole thing was a lifetime event. We arrived home safe

and turned on the K-horns and jammed. Maybe someone will get a shot

at the 60th anniversary Klipschorns. Kudos to the people that traveled

from so far away. Happiness to all and may GOD Bless.

    Earsonly,

We are hoping that you and/or your brother (I think his forum name is Sweetspot?) are still active on the forum. Please let us know if you guys and your wives still have your "earson",[:)]

  17. lol, just giving you a hard time [;)][<:o)]

I don't think you could give dtel a hard time right now. He is so happy I don't think anyone could "pee in his Cheerios" as his sister likes to put it.

You can't seem to "wipe the smile" off of his face. I still think he has a hard time believing the events during and after the Pilgrimage.

BTW, the grass is getting real high outside and I can't seem to get him away from the new Cornwall's long enough to cut it.

The speakers just had a chance to "cool off" in the last two hours. We haven't listened to so much music in two channel in a long time. Even played the DVD concert videos in two channel.
