  1. Please see post in the Home theater forum. Thanks, $250 plus shipping and handling from zip 96795 if I can sell them this week. bdbaba
  2. Aloha All, I just found a pair of Chorus on island for a great deal that I could not pass up. Even though I love the Fortes, I think the Chorus are keepers. I have just listed the Fortes on CL in Hawaii as I would much rather sell them locally. However, I want to offer them here for any Klipsch guys that might want them. I am not out to make a killing. I have them listed for $400 on island, but if someone wants them here, I will knock another $100 off for you guys to help defray any packing and shipping costs that you will incur. REMEMBER that these are being shipped from Hawaii so it will cost some money. FEDEX GROUND is probably the best way to go if you want them insured. If not, Yellow freight might be cheaper if we just call them household goods--not sure though. Please see the pics. They are perfect sonically, but the cabinets are not perfect. As you can see the last owner did the potted plant thing to the top of one of them, and a "coffee cup?" to the other. Never bothered me as I just kept some pictures on them to cover the tops. The sides look pretty good. I am meticulous when it comes to packing speakers, so do not worry about that. Still not sure if I am going to sell the K-Stacks. If I do, I will sell them here for $200 for the pair. These will definitely take your Fortes to the next level. I think they are about $350 new. I was going to have Chris remake them for the Chorus--I still might--but they sound so good I am not sure it is worth it. Thanks for looking. bdbaba
  3. My Bro has both a C7 and a KV4. He has CF3s for fronts. He has switched back and forth many times. He told me he cannot hear any difference at all. I do not think that you can go wrong with either. You can pick up a C7 while you wait for a KV4 to show up, then sell the one you like the least. They hold there value quite well. Hope this helps. bdbaba
  4. Off in 6 hours. Never mentioned that they were Forte 2s or Academy in the ad. In Flint, MI.

  6. Aloha Roc, It sounds like you have some bass suck-outs in your room. I have the same problem as well. My Mirage BPS400 Subby used to just overpower me with bass in my last two places, but now it just gets lost. I have improved upon it with placement somewhat, but I need to do some serious room enhancement, which I have been too lazy and cheap to do. It sounds like you might want to do the same. I guess one of those Audissey EQ thing-a-ma-bobs might help as well--I have never heard one at work, though. The guys here probably have tried all of these things and will have more and better advice then I. Sounds like you are going to have a killer setup when you are finished! J.
  7. Aloha Cal, I am happy to hear that you are feeling better, and that you are still enjoying the speaker! Have a great night. Jeff
  8. Aloha Roc, "Popbumper" is Chris Munson's moniker on the boards--I assume it has to do with the fact that he is into building pinball machines. His X-overs take the place of the original stock X-overs. On my original Fortes, they improved the tightness and amount of bass I hear in y system. I assume they would do the same for the Forte 2s. I have never heard the 2s, although I would like too. If you give Chris a hooar, he will tell you much more about them then I can. Many others here have bought X-overs from him or have had him build custom boxes and the like. There are quite a few pairs of Forte 2s on ebay right now. I have not seen any on audiogon lately. Have you checked craigslist.org in your surrounding areas? Cheers, J.
  9. Hey Wayne! I have been away from the forum for awhile. I just read through this thread. I am glad to hear you are doing well after the surgery. My wife and I wish you all the best. Hope to get together with you in the future again. Also, I hope that Academy is holding up well. Much Aloha!!!! Jeff
  10. The X-overs...They are pretty easy to attach--if I can do it, anyone can!
  11. Hey Roc, Great choice to go with three fortes across the front. Here is a pic of my front three original fortes. They all have been "Popbumpered" with Chris Munson's X'overs--see other pic. I highly recommend them. Nothing too fancy with my setup. The wall behind is my screen--painted with a bunch of coats of Behr ultra white. 118" diagonal 16 x 9 image--144" diagonal with the widest cinema scope films. I highly recommend a PJ as well if you have the wall space. Nothing like a big picture. Ebay is a great place to look for fortes, but also keep your eyes open on audiogon.com as well. They do come up there, and many times at good prices. Maybe someone on the forum will want to split a pair with you--I split mine with Chris. Good luck. J.
  12. My Bro has CF3s. He has both a KLF-C7 and a KV-4. Currently he has the KV-4 in the system, but he told me that he can't hear much difference between the two. The KLF does look nicer, as it matches his other speakers, while the KV is black.
  13. Oppo has a new one out--the 981. This also does both dvd audio and sacd.
  14. Nice job Chris. Are you doing the networks for them as well?
  15. Aloha Cal--You Rock! Hope all is well. sunprairie--One other thing to consider is ease of placement. I have the Panny AE900 right now-- it is now being replaced with the AX100 that just received a screaming review. These PJs have lens shift which makes them very easy to place in a room. However, LCD does seem to have the risk of image retention. DLP does not. I would go over to avsforum.com and check in the display devices then digital PJs under $3500 section--unless you have bucks, then go to the over $3500 section. There is more info then you might want over there. There are some great new PJs that have just come out and others that are coming out very soon. The 1080p PJs will be out soon as well--waiting to see prices on those. I do like my panny, but I think I like the DLP image a bit better from what I have seen, and I like not having to worry about burn in. However, with the place I am living right now, having the lens shift was the deciding factor. Cheers.
