  1. I thought you said mid 2007 a while back, dang that's a long wait...
  2. Looks are important, but here it is..." All of the drivers on the front baffle are recessed; this is important to reduce diffraction" This is from a review of an Axiom bookshelf...
  3. I've read stuff before, but am still not sure... does mounting a speaker flush affect the sound? I thought I read that it prevents diffusion or something like that... I really don't know.
  4. Is it really that big a deal? Does it make that big of a difference?
  5. Dude, is the Gotham there yet?? It's 1/2 way through 2007....
  6. Nevertheless, that is fine work EAR. How are you planning on finishing it?
  7. Like this? 8. Hey, spot me one of them subs too while you're at it homie []
  9. It works just fine though Jay, you just absolutely HAVE to predrill, and maybe countersink if you want it to look a little better. EAR: You are lucky, I wish I could go around finding speakers in the garbage, but there is no such chance for me. Also, I thought Blaupunkt was crap. I know their new stuff is, their new car audio at least. I've heard it many times at the local Fry's and it really stinks.
  10. Ear, I am jealous of you craftsmanship. I built the crappiest boxes ever for some Cerwin Vega VMAG 693s. But at the same time, they were the first boxes I've ever built, the table saw we have doesn't cut straight, and I didn't have a working drill press to drill holes for screws, so I ended up piling a bunch of scraps on top of pieces as the glue dried. As a result of that, the pieces didn't glue together straight. The worst part of all though, is that one box had a gap between the baffle and the end of the box so large, I had to fill it with popsicle sticks and lots of glue. To add insult to injury (not really injury) the boxes were so small, there was no bass and I have ended up cutting the back entirely off one box in an effort to make it as close to freeair as possible, which did help quite a bit. The boxes were like, .2 cu ft too.
  11. I'm gonna cry cause you make fun of mee!!! 12. Don't forget goggles and ear plugs! Really, I am jealous. Using a saw that can take your arm off in an instant is so much fun!! And I, for one, LOVE the smell of burning MDF (that was from a hole saw).
  13. Hmmm, OK, fine. I'll believe you, but back ON topic, does anyone have even close to the number of subs as EAR? I know I don't. Granted, we do have a Toa KD-3 which can put out the low end, but isn't a sub, so still 9 for us.
  14. Oh, excuse me for being a stupid southerner...
  15. OKAY Jay, I really don't think it matters that much. We live in completely different areas. Who really cares?
