  1. Has anyone tried a 52/62 center channel with heritage L&R fronts? Timbre match?
  2. That's an interesting option I could consider at upgrade time. I have the wall space but have a walk-out basement with great outside light and am concerned about being able to view a projected image without making the room pitch black. It does seem like the center speaker should be as close to the screen as possible, ideally behind. The L/R channels seem like they should be close to the sides of the screen as well. Since I've only watched one 5.1 movie so far and only the fronts and center to boot, I've got some learnin' to do. Thanks for your input. George
  3. I'm using La Scalas as my L/R and Heresies as center and surrounds. I'm just in the process of building out my HT and have the option of locating my center above or below the screen. Has anyone experimented with this and have some opinions? All I've found is if ceiling mounted it should be inverted to avoid reflecting the tweeter off the ceiling. Anything else? I've also wondered if raising the Scalas on risers or angled platforms would have any effect? Thanks, George
  4. I was buying some used Mcintosh stuff from a guy back in the 80s and he had those JBL100s. I was really happy I had my 1976ish La Scalas after hearing those tubs. Maybe it was just how he had them set up. Bought my Scalas new and they still sound great. George
  5. I'm also wondering about placement in a rectangular room with either LaScalas (current) or Khorns (wanted) on one of the narrow ends. According to my original LS material the ratio should be something like 1 to .6 which would mean placing them on the longer side of the room. Any thoughts? Also, if the room is actually L shaped do you build a stub wall false corner for the LS/KH? Thanks for your informed responses.
