should the rears be set to large?
You might want to try this as the Reference speakers would have a little more output then the rears. The is the FUN thing about all this, try different setting for a few days and see what sounds good to YOU. That is all that really matters as one persons setting might not sound good in someone else's room.
also what mhz should i set my sub to? i currently have it set to 80.
You can really set the sub as high as it goes, that way you will get everything played thru it. Since I don't know how your receiver setting determines the cut off for the Large vs Small settings.
should they be facing down towards me when sitting?
If all else fails then I would try to direct the speakers more to the listening position. Like others have stated, to looks like the rear speakers are shooting right over your head while seated at the back wall. Maybe if you can find some stands that work better without so much shelf to block the sound and adjustable to find your needs.
the denon is horrible to adjust for a newbie like me. any suggestions would be great
I will try to look up that unit and see how it works to help you out any more, if needed.
Just remember, have fun and enjoy your setup. What sounds good to one person doesn't make it common law for everyone.

I do, when I can get a chance.
Sad to say, most of the time the speakers are playing either a CD or the radio while doing things around the house.

I have stopped burining $50 dollar bills and I am now burning $25 dollar bills.
Wow JB that was a fast change from the original $100 to $50's and now from $50 to $25's. Don't burn them all they just might be worth something, one day....

It is amazing how much it changed the sound. It took a long time trying to achieve the sound only to have it taken away in minutes. Needless to say the furniture is up for sale !
You can go thru the setup process all over again to achieve that same sound with the new furniture. Isn't this a FUN hobby.... []

Welcome to the forum....
How are your rear speakers set up, Large or Small? How are your RF-35 set up, Large or Small? Does your receiver have a mic to calibrate your speakers for you?
Only thing is you have the center and surrounds trying to keep up with the better main speaker, Reference line. If you don't have the auto adjust in your receiver then you will have to adjust the main speakers lower and the rear speakers higher. Everyone system is different and likes a different sound so you will have to play and adjust to your liking.

BTW, nice looking setup...

James - Didn't know that, how do you sign up to get free codes emailed to you?
It looks like they are only doing it with text messages. I just asked the gf if she got any email codes and she said it stopped some time ago. It figures that it switched over to text messages.
If you sign up on-line, thru RedBox.com, you can get a text for a free movie on the first Monday of every month. It doesn't have to be an Android or IPhone phone for it to work, just check out the service carriers that it works with.

You can take a look at Bush Furniture, I purchased my stand and a/v rack about 3 years ago and it's still going strong and no problems. I know you mentioned no glass but they have others that looked real nice also. I got those ones to kind of match my cherry RF-83, the wood on those stands are solid wood segments.
Also, any chance that you can build something yourself? It would be a lot cheaper and be exactly what you need.

can't really tell what the connection is in that picture. good luck in your search.

A picture of the cable connection in question might help.
Is the unknown connection at the TV or the separate cable box?
What other connections does the unit have that this unknown cable connects to?
James

Wouldn't make much sense not to.
Just did a test and thru a little trial and error it does pull up the search phrase in just the title, I was wrong...

blockbuster has gone out of business in my area, the last of the two stores left just closed down.
After my first post I did have to go and see if there was still one near me. I found the one about 20 mins away, the kiosk is about 5 mins and at the gas station that I go to.

Although Grooms thread on "Book of Eli" is on the first page, it's interesting that if you are in the Movies and Music thread, if you search for Book of Eli, you get no returned threads. Even searching in the main Forums Section, if you search for it, the only thread that comes up is the one I started. Not sure why that is.
I believe the search function only looks for things within the thread and not at the title of said thread. In the one the Groom started the title "Book of Eli" is only written once and over a month old. So your thread would be seen first and if you would keep flipping thru the search pages I'm sure that one quote would come up.

If you've got the Android (and maybe the IPhone) you can get free rental codes for Redbox as well.
You can also get them emailed to you, unless they changed that. Then again I never used Redbox before, but my gf did from time to time for her son.

Adios Blockbuster.
Funny that you mention that cause I just seen a Blockbuster machine, just like Redbox, the other day.

I'll eagerly await another post by him saying to get off my high horse, that I'm crying, etc...etc...
hahahahahahahahaha, I'll write it up right now....

I say if you like the sound of the speakers keep them and don't let others tell you what's "better".
If you have some time take a look at the HT picture thread, there are some that hid their front speakers behind a screen wall like you are talking about.
Also if you get the equipment yourself you can do the research to find what you like and don't like.
Remember, it is YOUR setup and have fun....
Also, Welcome to the forum...

I don't understand why you felt compelled to come in here and tell everyone off for being upset that someone ruined a movie for lots of people
Were did I tell everyone off, just cause I thought it was funny people were crying about the comment? Really, if that's the worse thing in your life to cry over you are well off. So someone made a comment about the ending and didn't mention anything before hand, wow get over it....
BTW don't think I've ever had a problem with you
No problem with you either...
So don't know where your beef is, but like I said no worries. You the man!
You da man....

dbeare, Welcome to the forum....
Sorry to hear about your problems with the CS-700 subwoofer. I don't have the item, have you tired calling Klipsch Tech Support to see if they can help in this matter?
James

Why would that be so hard?
Don't know and don't care.....
Why are you being an *** about it anyway, its a movie that just came out why would you spoil it for everyone anyway?
Cause it was written and I wanted to speak about it...
I don't think I've seen anyone with this type of attitude on the board, why are you taking hits at people that justifiably should be upset when the guy posts the end of the movie, regardless of what section its posted in?
hahahahahaha, can you see from that high horse....

Man, I'm the total opposite. I have a land line that I don't answer but use for work and job leads. I always have my cell phone on, 24/7/365, and next to me. I use it for email, text, calls, internet when I'm out and need it, google maps and games.

But seriously who goes into a home theater forum and posts complete spoilers for movies?!!?!?!
Maybe the same reason that a movie is talked about the the Home Theater section, which should be for questions about Home Theaters and setup. The same reason that there is a Music and Movie section that already had a thread about the movie.
I love how everyone is crying about spoiling the movie for them, now that's funny...
