  1. I am replacing them with RBH speakers 5.1 system. Thanks, Henry
  2. Thanks again for the replies. The finish on the La Scallas is not quite as nice as it apears in the photos. There are some scuffs and they don't shine quite that much in person, but they are close. I am asking $900 + shipping for the La Scallas, and $800 + shipping for the Cornwall II's. Thanks, Henry
  3. Thanks for the replies. Sorry it's taking so long to post pictures, I am trying to upload them correctly. Regards, Henry
  4. Hi, My wife wants all the speakers out of the living room. I have a pair of La Scallas and Cornwall II's that need to go. The La Scallas are the light plywood color, 1979 version I think. They spent most of the time in a mountain cabin and used maybe 3 times a year. Bob Crites put in new caps and they sound excellent. The Cornwalls are 1985 II's and are in great shape. What should I ask for them? Thank you for your help. Henry
  5. Thanks for all the replies they are very helpfull. SCOOTERDOG, did you also get the BEC tweeters for the Lascala's? I am also going to use the Heresys for surrounds and I like what you did with the columns. Do they work well as surrounds if I am not using any others? <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Thanks again, Henry
  6. Hello, I am creating a dedicated theater room in my basement (12x22x7) and I currently have Lascalla's for mains, Cornwall II for center and heresy's for rears. My question is has anyone here had Magnepans for home theater that could give me a comparison with the Klipsch for theater and music? Any feedback would be greatly apreciated. Thanks, Henry
  7. Thanks, I appreciate all of your advice. They will be on the narrow wall with a projector screen in between so there won't be much room to work with. Now finding a center that will match is my next challenge. Regards
  8. Hello, I have a pair of Cornwall II's along with two pairs of Heresy I's that I intend to use in my basement home theater. Are the Cornwalls too big for 12.1"w, 22.1" L, 7.4" H. room to sound good? Thank you
  9. Thank you all for the great advice.
  10. I also have a pair of Cornwall II's and just posted on the 2 channel thread becauseI was having the same problem with mine, lows overpowering highs. I stuffed my ports most of the way and it helped quite a bit. Henry
  11. All drivers are working. I have them about 3 ft from the front wall and the wall on the side of right speaker is mostly windows. Thanks again, Henry
  12. They are 1986 models and no evidence they were modified. Being II's with the newer crossover and drivers may be to blame, or my epuipment might be too warm sounding. Thanks for the reply. Henry
  13. Hello, I just purchased a pair of Cornwall II's and as funny as this sounds, they are too heavy in the low end and too laid back in the top end. I have had other speakers sounding really good in the same room, including Heresy I's that I think sound very smooth and a little lacking in the lows, but more listenable. The room is around 12ft wide 24 ft long and high vaulted ceilings with an opening into another room where the left speaker is. Any suggestions on how to improve the sound of my Cornwalls would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Henry
