  1. If it isnt a simple fix, I would definitely contact my local dealer, and make arrangements for a replacement. Providing it's a recent purchase, you can simply return it to the dealer and make an exchange. Good luck.....
  2. Im not familiar with your T-1000s, but this was the first thing that came to mind:) As for my RC-62, I cant say that there is anything I dislike about the speaker. It is everything I hoped for in a center channel speaker. I also bought RF82s for fronts, RF52s for surrounds, and I use a small pair of existing wallmounted speakers for backs. I run everything through a Yamaha RX-V2500 and a SVS PB12-plus/2 is serving subwoofer duty. All in all, Im very pleased with my new Klipsch additions and dont have negatives to report at the moment. Which center channels are you considering?
  3. I would probably just stick something small in there to make it a tight fit. LOL I'm too lazy to go through the hassle of returning to the dealer to swap grill covers or speakers for something trivial if I can solve the problem by inserting a small piece of folded paper, cardboard, or anything handy to create a rattle free fit. Just stick small inside that wont be visible from the outside:) However, if it's new, you're definitely well within your rights to exchange the product. HEH...... I had a problem with the door leading down to my basement rattling when movies play, so my solution was to shove a piece of cardboard in the door jam, and the problem was solved....hahahahahahah A folded piece of empty toilet paper roll works wonders!! Sometimes I'll go weeks without going down into my basement, and when I finally do....... that damn piece of hidden cardboard falling when I open the door always catches me by surprise:)
  4. If I had to do it again, I would have bought a projector instead of my 65". My HT is on a lower level 'walkout' level, and the room is plenty big, but there is A/C ductwork that extends L-R across the center of the room, and the ceiling is 14" lower along that line. I was worried that it would interfere with a projector, so I took the easy way out and got the big TV instead. In hindsight, I think I could have found a way to make it work. When it's time for me to replace my current TV, I will find a way to make a HD-projector work in my situation. I guess all I would have to do is hang the projector so the lense is 14" down from the ceiling......LOL Considering my room is a finished room, finding a way to deal with the wiring is also a concern. I dont really want exposed wires running along my ceiling.
  5. Woah..... I just had a terminator flashback:)
  6. My 2 cents...... I'd be looking at the RC-52 and RC62 if I was in your shoes because the new models have been improved from what I have seen. The 25 and 35 are being dropped. In fact, I was just in your shoes, and I purchased a RC-62 this very week, and I FREAKIN love it!! WOW...I'm in pure heaven with my new Klipsch!
  7. Ahhhhhhhh yes.... I remember 1985 well. That was the year purchased a pair of Cerwin Vega D-9s. HEH Woah....those mutha's could take a beating!
  8. Thanks for those links. Those are very helpful. Im in big trouble though because I dont even know how to evaluate my room. geesh.... I guess the first step is buying a meter, but I wont know what to do with it once I have one.
  9. Mild, Some movies purposely go for the grainy look. War of the Worlds is a good example, and it is no accident. Paul
  10. OMG..... Look at my drunken 1am rant..... LOL Message board rule #1: Never post messages while in a drunken stuper. Im probably not the best person to give impressions of the speakers because all I can really compare them to are my old CVs. Obviously the Klipsch are on a whole different level and the detail and accuracy is much better. Demo night was a lot of fun, and I intend to do a repeat performance again tonight. A nice added touch on the RC-62 is that it has an adjustable screw so you can angle the speaker significantly up or down to point into the listening area. My TV is over 5' tall, and I couldnt angle my old center speaker as much as I would have liked, but that isnt the case with the Klipsch. I have the back raised a full two inches and it still sits stable without a hint of it wanting to slide.
  11. Yea, I've read that link before on another forum. Unfortunately......My idea of doing home improvements, is running the sweeper. I dont mind hanging things on the walls providing it doesnt require much work, or cost much money:/ The DIY projects arent something I'd do, and I'm too cheap to pay someone $1,000s to do it for me....LOL Im screwed...
  12. Yea, Ya gotta love those racism themed movies...ugghh. I'd take something like "Batman-Begins" over that crap every time.
  13. Geesh... The more I read about this subject, the more confused I get. I'd like to do some treatments too, but I dont know where to begin:(
  14. I have a 65" and sit about 12-13' away. I think a distance of about 2.5x the diag. is the sweet spot, but hell... what do I know....LOL If I had an 8' screen, I'd probably sit in the exact same spot:)
  15. I finally converted to Klipsch today:) I bought a pair of the brand spanking new RF-82's for fronts, a pair of the new RF-52's for surrounds, and the RC-62 for the center. The 82's are on order and I wont get them for another week, but I did get plenty of time to play with the others tonight, and I'll have to say that it was fun:) For "DEMO NIGHT", I watched the Fifth Element and 'LOTR-Return of the King'. WOW..............What fun!!!!! Wow...that RC-62 his HOT, HOT, HOT........ That center channel speaker ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! The sound & detail is incredible!! I put the RF-52's up front until their big brothers arrive, and they carried the load just fine, and I was impressed with the detail they delivered as well. Im an old schooler who's had behemoth Cerwin Vega D-9s serving front duty of my HT since the beginning of time(I've owned them since 1985)............LOL I moved the D-9s to 'surround sound' duty, and I'll have to say they didnt disappoint....hahahahaha I confess that they do an admirable job for HT, but the detail offered by the Klipsch is at a different level. (duh?) The old CV center channel speaker and my old surrounds are now officially in the basement. BTW...... I still think it's funny having 100lb behemoths serving as surround sound speakers...hahahahahaha The bigguns will be moved to the garage system as soon as the RF-82's arrive and I move the 52's to their proper place:) Once my 82's arrive, I'll have the loudest garage system on the planet!! hahahahaha It's not like I spend much time in the garage, but at least I'll get to crank some JAMs in the garage each spring when I do my thorough cleaning. I have a retired 125wpc Pioneer that's waiting for those baby's in the garage!! As for my HT setup, I still have crappy Bose serving "Back" channel duty in my 7.1 setup, but hey.... It's only the back and they fit the space, right? At least sound comes out of them. My SVS PB12-Plus2 no doubt compliments the entire setup well, and I cant wait to watch a few movies tomorrow night:) YEA BABY, GO KLIPSCH!!!!!! Im a happy new customer, and glad to join the club! Once my wife finishes crapping her pants over my recent Klipsch purchases, I'll toss those Bose-'backs' into the garbage and finish the setup right with Klipsch backs:) Ahhhhhhhh yes... Life is good!!
