  1. If possible I would wall mount the TV above the LS. Have a custom in-wall rack for all your components or in a closet or room that you're not using. Then depending on how much room you have up front, I would do 4 subs up front, 2 on each side of the center La Scala.

  2.

Can vouch for this. I used to use F-20s in a basement and the bass was huge. Then I moved and put them in a smaller room and it was much less, and then when I upgraded to RP-280F even less. Room response is weird.

Yup! Before buying my Forte's from the previous owner he played a few tracks and the bass was amazing! I thought he had a sub playing to. When I brought it home and had it setup the bass was non-existent! It sucked! Lol...

  3. I've had mine for only a couple of days and so far I'm loving it. It is mated to a Marantz nr1403. Room environment plays a huge role in how it sounds. I first had them setup in my living room for initial testing and listening and it was nice, well balanced & smooth sound. Not much bass though. I then moved them into my bedroom, which it replaces a pair of Fortes and it was extremely bright. Still no bass, but it was overwhelmingly bright. Audyssey has tamed a lot of the brightness and harshness. This brightness was also present with the Fortes before Audyssey. Brighter and "thinner" than the rp-280f's.

  4. The boxes was sitting at my front door when I got home from work. On to the pictures.

Initial impressions vs the La scalas (living room):

Not as deep and wide/huge sounding.

Has better treble clarity. Smooth and crisp. Bass takes it over the La Scala. However La Scala has it beat in every other category.

Initial impressions vs Forte 1 (master bedroom):

Deeper and wider sound stage. Bass is a lot deeper and hits harder than the Forte's. Bright just like Forte's.

That's it for now. There's a huge sound difference from my living room to my bedroom.

    Living room setup:

    Marantz sr6011

    Emotiva XPA-5 2nd gen

    Nvidia Shield

    Bedroom:

    Marantz nr1403

    Computer

All files played were flac or .wav. That's it for now.

  5. Your room is about the same size as my bedroom and I just placed an order for a pair of rp-280f's and a rp-450c center channel. I'll give my feedback when I receive them. I currently have a set of Forte I's in that same room I am going to do an A/B comparison between them. The plan is to move the Forte's into the garage/man cave and keep the more modern Reference Premieres in the house.

  6. You want to know where Pat_in_ Dallas_Fort_ Worth is located?  [emoji14]

I probably shouldn't be such a smart arse.  I've been through the DFW airport and it's bigger than my entire home town in West Virginia.  B)
