    CF-4

Damoon, yea metting would not be a problem. have you ever heard or seen the infinity rsIIIB? Have you you heard the cf2's? THANKS Kennth lett
  2. trey, dean going to upgrade some filters or something like that. it shouldnt devalue them. he also mentioned room placement.mine is 14x24. but i'm breaking down my equipment rack and spreading the la scalas further apart. they are the best sounding speakers ive ever heard. just low level listining is not as envoleing as i am use to. i didnt think i would like the black, but it doesnt look like stained black birch. it almost looks machine made. i guess it some kind of lackeur. but they really look good. i'f my mod does'nt give me some low level hapiness i hope we can work something out. dean left a message to megan saying i have ak-3networks instead of al-3 networks. i'm not sure what this is about. but i'm almost 100% postive that these la scala's have never been touch. they already sound so much better just moving them apart some. i originally set them up on either side of the pioneer pro television then the equipment rack. after moving them and toe in (ref the manual) pretty big change. any way i'll keep you posted. thanks kenneth lett i dont have the original manual . i had to order one and they sent me like a 1960's type deal. but i do have original box and styrophome for easy shipping. thanks kenneth lett. if you want to call 919-7760-4822

    CF-4

damoon, i might be interested in the cf-4's. i'm getting an upgrade to my lascala,s and if it does'nt work out i like the epic series. i live in sanford n.c shipping probably cost atleast $300. but it would beworth it if i cant get my la scala's the way i like my email is lettsales1@hotmail .com phone nr is 919-776-0482. i dont know if you would consider a trade. but i have a beautiful pair of infinity rsIIIB just had two new mids and four new woofers installed. ($1,100) just for parts this is one of the best sounding infinity's ive everheard. and they are about 4.5' high about 20'' wide and only about 4.5'' deep. so the can stand wright up against wall. beautiful workmanship and big sound. ithink there about 85lbs each you can look them up on infinity web page. to get accurate specs. ive never heard a speaker that thin sound this good, these were very expensive i think i paid like $3,000 10 years ago. emit r tweeter is killer. if its not your bag. no big deal. i just dont have the $800+shipping until i get my la scalas right. give me a call if you want to talk. ive got cf-2 also wich sound really good. and would give you the klipsch sound in a smaller package. i really like the epic cf series. lets talk thank kenneth lett
  5. meagain, my la scala's are 1995, i dont know all the techinial names for the drivers and crossovers. i think k55m and type AA.dean said they were the good stuff. my room is 14x24. i think the 8'' riser will help because it will get them up to the point where they dont come into contact with a loveseat(about 6' away ,it'snot a fullblock)my listing distance is about 13 feet.my system is setup on the 14' wall. room kinda nuetrail carpet, big curtains, soft loveseat and couch. not to bright or warm. when people say k horns are the talking about aspecific horn are klipschhorn speakers? not to bright but im learning thankls kenneth lett
  6. fish that makes sense... no one has offered a trade. but ive also decided to tweak these la scalas. room placement. risers. crossover upgrades, to my knowledge no one around here will let you try rf-7's with out buying them. if i had the extra money i still have to many speakers in my house. (is that possible) did you read the review in hometheater magizine the dude took a tour of the klipsch factory. and audition the new reference line he said the highlite of his trip was listening to the la scala's. he was amazed. i beleive page 56. if he was so impressed i dont want to give up on the lascalas. thanks for the suggestions my lascalas are perfect execept at conversanail levels.
  7. meagan, thanks for the input, i dont know what causing the boredon at low voumes, but i'm using a denon poa 2800 200wpc outboard amp, that i once sold. and had to buy it back because everything i purchased couldn' touch it. it improved every system i added it to. everone has convinced me not to give up on the la scalas. so i'm breaking down my equipment rack spreading them further apart, also having a riser (8'') custom made. ive heard this improves sound quality. the riser are going to be made to match the dog house so it will look just like part of the speaker only taller. what do you think this will look like? hopefully good. dean has heard of my problem he said ive got the good horns and crossovers. but he's sending me a upgrade crossover he thinks will solve my problem. he said he experienced the same problem. i beleive with a set of klipsch horns. what is keeping you from turning yours up? has any one had any ideas? have you tried raising them? I can turn mine up to deafining levels with almost no distortion. also i had a nad amp that you could turn almost any speaker up. the louder the better. very different amp sounded killer at loud volumes. but thin a low volumes. hope we both get our stuff wright.... i get dissapointed and want turn mine on, if i cant get the quality i once had.
  8. Iv'e really enjoyed this thread. I'm still confessing to be a newby and don't even belong on the same fourm, knowledge wise. All i know is it's good to see so much passion about sound and music. The secound part of all i know is my 95 la scala's don't sound like i'd hoped. but im relying on dean and people with his knowledge to help heal my dissappointment. yes i'm a beleiver. iv'e owned 7 different models of klipsch. Iv'e strayed away and always came back. can't find anything at this price point that makes me smile and tell my guest "hush listen to this" ..... Thanks for all the help. mod or no mod "ITS ONLY ROCK & ROLL" and i love it......
  9. greg thanks for info. i noticed you'r logo "got tubes then its all good" i beleive dean is going to be able to help my la scala's. he mentioned a tube preamp is pretty sweet. ive had loads of equipment partly due to my ignorance, and lack of research. for years i went on the 'buy and try system'. once you've heard good sound in you'r home everything else is a big dissapointment. can you recomend a site where i can learn about a tube preamp that would help the la scalas. i cant afford preamp and amp at this time besides that denon has kicked a lot of good namebrands to the curb.thanks kenneth lett
  10. i didnt understand about the 511, or going outboard. i just have la scala's with a denon poa 2800 200wpc amp. thanks for replying sorry for my ignorance...
