  1. Thats a no-brainer... Get the Heresy III speakers. There might not be as much bass, but it will certainly be cleaner. The soundstage should be much improved over the RF82 as well.
  2. I'm going to go ahead and refinish my Cornwalls and try to avoid the new ones... I would like to have a pair that I purchased new, but... There aren't any dealers in the DFW area that actually have a pair in stock to listen to...
  3. I am interested in opinions from those that may have "upgraded" from Cornwall I speakers to Cornwall III speakers. I currently have a pair of 83 Cornwall I speakers that contain the B3 network, K33E, K52H, and as of now, the CT125 tweeters. The cabinets are in decent shape, but I plan to refurbish the entire speaker. I have new B3 crossovers from Mr. Crites to go w/ the speakers, and plan to remove the laquer, fix the imperfections as best as I can and refinish them. I would also like to clean up the inside, upgrade the wires, etc. I guess there are two parts to this question... (1) Should I continue down this path and perhaps make a few updates to these current Cornwalls? (2) Should I just throw in the rug, sell these either as-is or refinished and order a pair of the IIIs. I am driving these w/ a Denon 2807 receiver, but I do plan to configure some sort of setup to allow tubes for music only listening. Lastly, are the IIIs bi-ample? It seems every review I have seen has been absolutely positive about the IIIs, but I can't find anyone who has upgraded and posted a comparasion between the two. Perhaps that should tell me something...
  4. The RF-83's have been sold. I'll possibly have the RC-64 available in a few months... Thanks for all the information. JS
  5. I did screw up on the description. I relisted it from the "combo" auction that didn't sell. eBay would not let me change the description as there was already a bid on it. So, I did what I could and also emailed the person who had bid to let him know about the error... The RC-64 is acutally working pretty well as a center for my Cornwalls at the moment... Who knows what the future will bring, but I am looking for a K-600 and a K-52H to match my Cornwalls. I already have a Ct125, crossover and a pair of 8" drivers that I think will work OK. I have to build it to fit dimensions very similiar to the RC64...
  6. Well, I had it listed w/ the center and had it posted here way before that. Nobody bid on it and nobdy made any offers... I am using the RC-64 now and plan to keep it for a while. I am going to try and build a center channel to match the heritage, but that will probably take some time and I don't want to be without.
  7. I have had numerous emails and a few phone calls. I have already moved the cornwalls downstairs for the time being. The RF-83 speakers are now sitting in the dining room awaiting the sell. I haven't been given a deadline, but like I said, they are in the dining room right now... I do have a bid on ebay right now, and I am hoping a few to raise the price up a bid towards the end. Right now, somebody is getting a GREAT deal on these... Wish I knew more...
  8. I've had quite a few interest emails, but no commitments. My wife is allowing me to use our Cornwalls again, but I have to sell these as part of the deal. They are listed on eBay w/ a 1250 starting bid. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:11&item=280132675080 jim@jkscott.com 972.342.1171
  9. I've lowered the price to $2250.00. Thanks, JS
  10. I have updated the page to reflect the warranty information. Also, I am officially listing these at $2500 for the pair. There is a link to a craigslist posting below. http://dallas.craigslist.org/ele/363273684.html Thanks, Jim
  11. Any updates to this? I am researching building a Hersey I center to match a pair of 84 Hersey Is I picked up off of eBay. I plan to find and use the same mid horn the Hersey's are using, and will replace the tweeters in all three w/ ct125's. I'll also update the crossovers from the original 84 units. I'll probably use two 8" drivers to replace the K22 and will put all of this in a sealed enclosure no more than 10" tall. The width and depth are not really an issue - within reason.
  12. el jobez, I would prefer to sell these as a set, and not just the center. We'll see how things go after awhile... Thanks WS65711, that kinda stinks on the warranty thing... I read over the info in the manuals and couldn't find this. Oh well. It is what it is...
  13. Thanks for the compliments guys. They are great speakers and I think the whole setup works very nice in the LR. I wish I could keep everything, but... I am just hoping someone in or close to Dallas will see this and they will go to a good home.
  14. I am moving some things around, moving my theatre to a dedicated room, and have purchased a pair of Hersey's to go in our family room. This means, I have no room for these RF-83 speakers... They are mint condition, not a single scratch or anything out of place. I am wondering what I should list them at, or if there was anybody here interested in them. I am in the northern part of the Dallas area, and I have no intention of shipping them. Below is a link to the page I setup for them. http://jkscott.com/forsale/speakers.htm Thanks!
