  1. Although it seems like a good idea, adding any more bass to the already perfect Pros (not biased here! ) will probably overpower the sub. You can do it, and will get lots of bass, but you might end up returning a couple of products...
  2. I'm sure they'll announce when/if they are going to release them when the time comes.
  3. Just wondering, but how much is a non-warrantied regular shipping preamp?
  4. So the Pioneer drive is good? What software should I find to go with it?
  5. makes sense, but...the CP-1 is an upgrade, not a replacement that you shouldn't have to pay for. How bad does it hiss?
  6. yeah I wonder why that is? Anybody?
  7. Thanks Seb. I'm just hooked on the slot loading thing. I'm sick of the trays. I already have three... Are there any disadvantages to a slot model, becides the extra $10 or $20?
  8. Yeah just talk to Klipsch at the number/email that I gave you.
  9. In my experience it's been that it only outputs to the front 2 speakers, but I could be doing something wrong.
  10. Seb, how much was it, where did you get it, and what came with it?
  11. Thanks. $75 sounds good. There's no warranty with bare drives, though, is there? How much did you pay for it?
  12. Which preamp do you have (one that came with it/upgrade to CP-1)? Talk to Amy in Customer Service. The number's below. ------------------ Klipsch Rules. ProMedia Tech Support # 1-888-554-5665 promediatech@klipsch.com
  13. Okay! I'll edit it! $125 sound okay? Unfortuately, I'm not very patient when it comes to waiting, Is there anything I could grab at best buy? What about software packages? Also, I don't think I'd need a hardware decoder, right? My system is a AMD 500 with a Voodoo3. Thanks!
  14. No it's not a real problem. It's probably dust or dirt in the pots of the preamp. The CP-1 will eliminate this problem (or at least get rid of most of it), I haven't had any problems yet with either of the preamps that I've owned ('original' and the CP-1). There's several solutions to fix it, and you can find those by searching for "scratching" or "static" in the forum search. One solution that's worked for me is to put a cheap air cleaner in the room, and that eliminated it for me when I had the 'original' preamp. If you don't mind it, you're fine. If it gets awful, you can't stand it, and you've tried every solution you can find, then you can call tech support at the number above. Hope this helps, Sam
  15. Does this happen just randomly or when you adjust the volume? If it's with the volume only it's probably dust in the pots (the knobs), and could be fixed with a multiple number of solutions. Search for "scratching" or "static" in the forum search at the top. If it's just random, you might also want to check for sorces of interference, and move your speakers away from the monitor. There's other ways for doing this too, but I'm not familiar with all of them, and at the moment don't have much time to write any more down. If nothing works, you can either wait for another reply or call or email tech support at the number below. Hope this helps, Sam ------------------ Klipsch Rules. 16. I try to do some composing, but I'm not very good at all with it. Also, being a high school student, I don't really have the time or money to do any serious composing, but I'd love to. Paragon, I hope this board hasn't overhyped the Pros too much for you (although they're near perfect speakers for the price ). Enjoy your new set of Pros!
  17. I am looking for a good quality DVD drive (for the computer) that's under $125 for use with the Pros. The cheaper the better, but I still want some kind of software bundle. Thanks in advance!
  18. Paragon, how can you stand it? How can you stand being a reg on this board and not own a set of these things? If I had to post to this board every day and not own a set of these, I would either: a) Go crazy or Steal a friend's set How do you handle it? You must have excellent self-control.
  19. Weird, I've never heard of this problem. Just adding the CS email address and giving this post a bump... ------------------ Klipsch Rules. ProMedia Tech Support # 1-888-554-5665 promediatech@klipsch.com
  20. I still have the Voodoo 3 that came with my lemon compaq. I have the Pros, what else matters? Besides, I don't know of a game (currently) that I can't run!
  21. I'm thinking any more bass to the Pros would definately be overkill. ^---What Seb said
  22. My advice is buy it and see what you think. The CP-1 has a higher gain and will make the Pros seem much louder. Also, the "on/off" switch isn't really that, it's just a speaker input mute, which is basically the same thing. If you're worried about power drainage, the Promedia sub hardly uses any power at all. Personally, when I purchased the CP-1, I noticed a difference in sound quality vs. the old preamp. You can aways return it if you don't like it or don't think it serves your needs.
  23. I'm not sure about another sub, but if you put the Pro sub under a well-constructed desk, it'll greatly enhance the sound.
