  1. Nice, I love my Hammond organ/Leslie. Such a sweet sound, the perfect blues/jazz/rock/reggae instrument, it just fits in everywhere! Ok, just a couple update photos from moments ago (it is all connected to vinyl in some way ). The quality of these speakers shows in a number of ways. The 12" woofers are NOT screwed into the MDF rim, but machine screws into T nut hardware, NICE! The second shot is of the USA made banana to spade jumpers for the screw terminals on the rear panel. More in a bit.
  2. Sounds good to me, got my breakfast and coffee going as well, music in a bit.
  3. Yes Dave, I am with you on that, I believe that they may just show up today... Watching the tracking and hoping to see 'Out for Delivery'. Really excited to get these together and sitting back to enjoy some music after the project concludes. You'll all be the first to know! 🍷
  4. Thanks Paul, I wasn't too concerned with the resistors, they are wire wound ceramic. These speakers were used for background music all there lives. never pushed....well, that will change of course now that they are in my home/system, we'll see how they do 😆. I will keep you and our friends informed. The caps are now sitting in an Amazon facility that is only a half hour drive from my home!, yet they are saying it will still take 3 days to get here. Think I need to make a phone call .
  5. ....and Side B through the cover . Jazz just seems to go with dinner. I'll check back in again soon!
  6. In a jazzy mood during starting my dinner prep and cooking. Spinning this one on the new table mat. Side one cued up!
  7. I was awaiting my new caps, and probably because of the floods etc. in the south, my latest tracking showed a delay from today to SUNDAY! So, sadly, the speaker project will be on hold for a bit longer. Just took these two photos as they sit on my kitchen island. These are the SuperScope S-212 from 1974 made in California, which are really in very nice shape all around considering they are 50 years old! My next featured play will be a TRIO of Linda Ronstadts Nelson Riddle arrangement recordings, probably on Sunday after these gems get the crossover caps installed . Lower photo shows the crossover with it's large axial cap sitting in it's metal holder. They will stay in place, and the new ones will be installed and ty-wrapped to them to keep things original.
  8. Hello Paul and friends! Hope you are staying dry, cool or warm depending on where you are. Here in the NE, slushy snow on the ground, temps have gone from single numbers to 40 degrees F. and will be higher with rain over the next few days.. Needless to say, foggy day here! Anyway, I fell in love with the silicone mat I picked up some time ago for the REGA P6 table, so I ordered a second one for the U-Turn and that just arrived. Here is a photo just taken. I will spin some vinyl on it soon. But right now, waiting for my Amazon delivery of some special capacitors for my newest speaker/ crossover restoration. More photos to share in a bit. Enjoy the music !
  9. Last one for now.............a real classic from my graduating year / high school 😊
  10. NIce!, Enjoy. I don't have a subwoofer with this system. But in another room, the Velodyne F-1500-r is still in use. That baby coasts on down to 15Hz. Great for that last octave of the pedal pipeorgan .
  11. HA, Wondrous Stories playing right now.....I'm with you JJ.
  12. Side B..........what I find amazing is how much more 'mellow' this album is alongside Big G. This one is less harsh and more full bodied. Kind of interesting considering they are 10 years apart in release Big G = 1987.
  13. Here is a shot of the albums TRI-fold inside and rear artwork.
  14. Transported back to 1977............Even the inner sleeve is yellowed around the edges. Side A up now.
  15. Big Gen on the U-Turn, Side A is up and spinnin' Listening space vibe.
  16. Ok friends.....returned from the market, all foods put away, caught a youTube subscrip and now time to sit back and enjoy these with my tea. (yes, that is a Dunkin' winter mug ) First photo here: dug these up from the Audio Showroom library. Going for the One is an original purchase of mine from the original release date.
  17. Very good! I am in a prog rock mood myself. I got my SUV warming up and I am about to head out for my usual Friday trip to the Market. When I return, some prog and tea.... see you all soon !
  18. .....Side 2 ..... all for now, more again soon!
  19. Time to............................
  20. Side 4.......................... and Ortofon 'Blue' = budget price point, great sound
  21. 'Endless River', Side 3 disc 2.....
  22. Thank you. Funny thing is, there are two fireplaces in this home across two floors. Spent big $$ having a brand new chimney installed, and NEVER used the fireplaces, basically for looks. Here, my primary heating is with refrigerant. Nat GAS furnace is very expensive to run vs. the 42k BTU of heat pump system which costs less then half in the dead of winter.
  23. Side 2, disc ONE in progress..... Even Mr. Bird Head is here listening today
  24. On the U-Turn.............and a wide shot. I took down all the Christmas deco, but put up my WINTER garland hung on the mantel, and it will stay there till spring. 😊
  25. Hello my friends..........been meaning to just sit back on a cold winter's morning and spin these new and classic re-issues on the Bang and Olufsen gear here in the livingroom. Cup of tea and away we go.
