Along these lines, I too have a set of the 83 Walls w/K51V squawker. Someone suggested a set of heresy's, and another person said use the Cornies's as flankers to compliment a set of Klipschorns.
Advice/suggestions for optimal setup please. NOT SELLING THE CORNWALLS!
Strictly for 2-CHANNEL audio ONLY, NO sound surround or Theatre applications!

I would post up pics of the Cornwalls, but they have a pair of BOSE 3-2-1 speakers sitting on top, and I would hate to make our viewers ILL. [*-)]

Along w/being a DJ at a Disco, I also played at wedding receptions, etc.
Remember, Billy Idol "White Wedding", so the era wasn't entirely dominated by disco, but IMO, the women are to blame, and of course, the men were soon entrapped for obvious reasons.[
]It was the best of times, and it was the worst of times.....depending on your outlook!

When people ask this question, I always say go listen to various coaxials. Generally speaking, you can get a pretty good idea from car audio sound displays.
In that price range, maybe Alpine, Pioneer, or Infinity's. No offense, but in that range, don't expect top quality, but they'll do the trick. Power handling capabilities are generally not that high, but if you are just pushing them w/OEM HU, you'll be OK.
Watch your ohmage on what you select. Personally, I would check the FORD or TAURUS forums "car audio section".

Looks like we have consensus.......Disco Sucked, but I made a ton of money spinning records partime while in the USCG and getting some Poo-tang.
Of course, my daily listening habits included HARD ROCK......Edgar Winter, and the whole package of Rock n' Roll bands/soloists. So easy to BURNOUT on Disco, and to this day, when certain songs play................time to turn the dial.
Thanks for everyone responses and keep "Boogie Fever" at bay.

This Thorens jumps all over the place, even properly set up. I guess my wooden floors are just too bouncy.
Get a B&O tangential, as it's the only TT I have found that holds!

IF you decide to proceed, I do suggest you acquire an impulse noise reduction unit that will eliminate pops/scratches during playback without diminishing the signal to badly. Be forewarned, if the LP's are in BAD condition, then you'll hear several audible silent skips in the reproduction of the source material. If you haven't been around LP's, then PLEASE review/listen before purchasing.

Hey, I can't help it that the crazy disco era (though short-lived) infiltrated my life in the late 70's. And you can't tell me that there aren't some members that got caught up in the rage of dancesongs.
So, do you still have your collection of leisure suits, platform shoes, gold chains, cocaine spoons, 45's, LP's, and extended LP's?
For the life of me, I'm torn on whether to part w/my DJ collection of 45's and EP LP's

I used to DJ years ago and used all sorts of brands, but the cartridge is KEY to quality reproduction.
Had an old AR, and then Pioneer, Techniques, and Marantz. I love the Bang and Olufsen (B&O) products but not sure if you can locate a used Beogram or not for the price you are seeking.

x800.....digitally remastered LP's or any obscure (hard to find) Import versions. Preferably unwarped, and unscratched and will pay a premium if the right selection.
Specifically albums from the late 60's to mid-70's

Several of my friends have XM, and while it is very clean, uninterrupted music (or whatever your pleasure), in rural areas the signal does drift, and when it does it SUX!
Kinda like cell phones before all the relay towers were put up to provide FULL range of coverage.

Funny, I remember racing one back in the early 70's during my red-neck years. He ate me alive in my SS Chevelle turbo-hyramatic tranny. Fully loaded w/speed control, A/C, power windows, AM/FM.
Those were good ole' days. My true (2) loves: cars and audio

I have NEVER had any good luck w/CC or BB, and now ALWAYS stick w/local car audio installers if you want it done right. Many include FREE INSTALL w/purchase.
Personally, I would check around for the best bargain.
BTW, auto starts are HOT and have been for the past (2) years. Everyone here locally is slammed w/installs.

The internet makes it waaaaay too easy, similar to what I am dealing with at work these days. Everything is automated, and fundamental knowledge is lost due to technology.
I post because (I perceive) my questions are archive questions (which I do a search on first). If I cannot locate the answer I seek, then I seek the professionals. Presumably, the Klipsch forums, who should be the authority on such matters.
Heck, people always ask....what's the best car speaker? People don't want to spend time researching, when they can await a response from someone else. Additionally, the forums serve as a quasi-family atmosphere whereby people converse and exchange information. A tech call somewhere is generally impersonal, and a one-time ordeal.
Lastly, w/o the forum, you get one persons' response, and must take that as gospel or seek another opinion elsewhere. Public forums can introduce a variety of responses, and can be validated by a host of members.
