  1. My ProMedia 2.1s speaker without the sub/volume controls is making a buzzing/rattling sound. I've had them since October 2007. This is the second time that I've had this happen to a set of ProMedia 2.1s. The first time this happened around a week after I started using them. Klipsch exchanged the defective set for a new one and I haven't been having any problems until now. I just sent a message to promedia@klipsch.com and we'll see what they say. Here's a copy in case your interested:

    "Hello,

I purchased a ProMedia 2.1 system from Klipsch.com on October 7, 2007 Invoice # 8137553. The system was defective and Klipsch quickly sent me another. I believe the The RA # was 70223 on October 16, 2007 for that. But now, that system is having a similar issue that the other one had. The speaker without the sub/volume controls is making a buzzing/rattling when it produces sound. This system has never been abused physically or sonically beyond it's design. It is not operating the way it should. Is there anything that you can do to help fix this problem?

I appreciate your help. Thank you!"

Klipsch used to be a company whose products I really really enjoyed and trusted for quality. But, I have had to make claims on my Custom 3s twice and now my ProMedia 2.1s twice. I hope my RF-7s and RSW-15 don't start acting up on me too! I know that the Reference line is in a way different league from their computer speakers. But, I don't expect my speakers to start falling apart after 2 years either.

I'd like to hear anyone's opinions. Criticism is appreciated. Praise is also nice. I like [:D] too.

  2. I got mine from a seller on Audiogon.com ............................

So you got one, Toasted? How do you like it?

I was definitely going to contact you if I needed to sell mine, which is still quite possible. I recently went through a divorce and am most likely moving out of this house and into an apartment, which, most likely, means the sub will have to go.

If and when it goes, someone is going to get a great deal on it.

Yes, I did find one. I love it. Sounds amazing. But I might consider buying yours if you decide to sell it so I could run stereo subs. If the price is right of course. [;)]

  3. Ooooh shipping is gonna be pricey. I got mine from a seller on Audiogon.com and I paid $100 for shipping, but it ended up costing the guy $200+ because he was kind enough to double box (almost triple box) it for me. And that was from, I believe, Indiana to Colorado via UPS. But don't let me discourage. [:D]

  4. I have a cherry RSW-15 that is currently having the driver replaced at the klipsch service center in Philadelphia under warranty. I will be listing it on this page for sale as soon as it is returned to me. It should still have 3+ years left on the warranty.I am located in eastern PA and would like a local sale but would be willing to ship.I do not have original box but will cross that bridge when time arrives.

Any idea how much you will want for it when you decide to sell?

  5. Ah! I am getting annoyed with local pick-ups for subs. I don't

understand why it's such a big deal to ship them. I'm not trying to

flame you or anything, I'm just generalizing. It seems like every

RSW-12 or RSW-15 that I find is for local pick-up. I understand that

58 lbs., or worse 85 lbs. can be difficult to move, but what if the buyer provided

    generous compensation? [;)]

  6. I've already spoken with that seller. It's for pick-up only because he doesn't have the original box. I'd gladly pick it up but it's in Illinois and I'm in Colorado. Sort of a long trip. He said he'll order the original box from Klipsch but it will cost $379.42. Plus the shipping costs to have it shipped. I don't really feel like dishing out $400+ just for shipping. Thanks though!

  7. I got a pair of RF-7's and an RC-7 about six months ago and I couldn't be happier. Of course, now I need a sub to match them. I want one that sounds good for music and movies. Everything is in a medium(ish) sized room, but that might change. I've really only looked at RSW's and SVS. Please give me some more knowledge on this subject...
