  1. Switch the green and purple plug in the soundcard...does the hiss now come from the front speakers? Do you have a headset you can plug into the rear channel of the soundcard to listen for hiss? Make sure you have all your volume controls that you're not listening to muted (esp Mic and CD Audio). ------------------ Amy ProMedia Tech Support promediatech@klipsch.com 888-554-5665
  2. Yes, it's one of the perks of working for a speaker company
  3. One thing I will share with everybody: no, I'm not blue!! What else can I share briefly...I came to Klipsch last summer with a lot of computer experience, and have learned buckets about the speaker business since. And yes, I love sound systems!! --The Blue One
  4. A guess for someone in Texas...$18-$25 for ground, which is usually a 3-day delivery. I'll mention the wording of our home page link to marketing and the webmaster, thanks... --Amy
  5. Send me an email. Because you're new, I hope the others will take it easy on you...this topic has been covered to death on the boards! Be nice, everybody! Amy promediatech@klipsch.com
  6. I don't think we're planning to hold back on shipping to our Canadian distributers. Contact me when the 4.1s are released, and I'll let you know for sure then what the status is. ------------------ Amy ProMedia Tech Support promediatech@klipsch.com 888-554-5665
  7. The V2-400s are no longer available on our website. When the 4.1s are released, shipping varies depending on where you live and how soon you want them. ------------------ Amy ProMedia Tech Support promediatech@klipsch.com 888-554-5665

  10. Yes, some of those screws are on ridiculously tight. However, you do NOT need to remove the stand to get the CP-1 on, it just makes it a little easier. Just push the pod back as far as you can against the stand and slide it forward. It can be done, trust me. I've done it several times! ------------------ Amy ProMedia Tech Support promediatech@klipsch.com 888-554-5665
  11. From what I understand, the CP-1 will be a web purchase only product. --Amy
  12. We have brown boxes for online customers and online retailers. Most retail stores prefer the "shelf-friendly" fancier boxes. Obviously, the plain ones are more economical--that's all. If we happen to run out of the brown, you'll get the white. --Amy
  13. This is some thread! I'll do my best to wrap it up... kqew: It is possible that the store you're going through for your replacements is giving you preamps from the same batch. Although we haven't positively narrowed the problem down to a specific batch, it's certainly possible. Contact me by email and we'll work something out where I can send you one from our warehouse and see if that will take care of it. And please discontinue the rude language--it won't be tolerated on this board. Movie Freak: Are you going through one store in Canada for your replacements as well? We could try the same solution for you. It's really best to go through Klipsch directly for any warranty purposes as opposed to retailers. This way, we can keep a history of the problems you've had, test the parts returned to find out the cause and note the specific batch numbers, and work out solutions for special cases/circumstances. If we don't have documentation on problems, it hard to work out a plausible solution. I hope this helps. If anyone has questions or comments for me on this issue, feel free to email me directly. And as always, contact me about any warranty issues. There's almost always a solution to these issues that will please everyone involved ------------------ Amy ProMedia Tech Support promediatech@klipsch.com 888-554-5665
  14. The CP-1 does not have a power button; it has a speaker disengage button (a "mute" or headphone only button). The only way to power the V2-400 completely down is to unplug them, or turn off any surge protector they might be plugged into. ------------------ Amy ProMedia Tech Support promediatech@klipsch.com 888-554-5665

  16. There is an option for v2-400 in Model Number (not a 2.1 option, however...I'll get with the webmaster on that...) If you ordered from us, you should have gotten an email confirmation with an order number. If you no longer have it, send me an email with your full name and city, and I can look it up for you. If you got them through Compaq, just put "Compaq." ------------------ Amy ProMedia Tech Support promediatech@klipsch.com 888-554-5665
  17. The model is v.2-400, there is no serial number. Just put your order number, or the name of the place of purchase in that field. Thanks! Amy
  18. I'm here! Just getting back to the board... It does sound like a preamp problem. How long have you had the speakers? ------------------ Amy ProMedia Tech Support promediatech@klipsch.com 888-554-5665
  19. Have you tried muting all the volume controls that you're not using? Does the hissing come from all four speakers? When did you purchase your pros? ------------------ Amy ProMedia Tech Support promediatech@klipsch.com 888-554-5665
  20. Yes, the CP-1 consists of the volume control pod that sits under the "master" speaker and the cables that run from it. Since your warranty does not include accidents, you would be wise to go ahead and buy the CP-1--more features and better quality for just a few $ more. ------------------ Amy ProMedia Tech Support promediatech@klipsch.com 888-554-5665

  24. Can you play the same song off a CD or with a different player and see if you get the same result?
  25. Does it occur when you play all types of media? What about when the computer is off? Does adjusting the connetions to the satellites, or the DIN plug, make any difference (louder static, no static, etc...)? ------------------ Amy ProMedia Tech Support promediatech@klipsch.com 888-554-5665
