  1. Hey. My amp in my 4.1s must have got wrecked again for the second time and unfortunately this time the speakers are 6 months out of warranty. So I don't really want another pair of Klipsh as I think they are not that good if they have done the same thing twice! So I want to move on, however right now I'm a poor starving univeristy student with little money to spend. So I thought I could buy a reciever (lets say a low end Denon or Yamaha for example) and hook them up to the satellite speakers to provide relatively good sound until I have the money to buy a nice pair of speakers to go with the reciever. Does anyone know if this would work at all? Or work well? I only need to use the satellites for about 4 monts so it doesn't need to be perfect. Thanks for your help, Dan

  3. The 4.1s for 399 CDN, somehow I would have to doubt that! First of all they are 300 USD therefore the exchange rate is approximately 1.5 US to CDN so that would equal somewhere close to 450CDN dollars. Somehow I don't think that store would want to miss out on that money lol. Well just my 2 cents =)
  4. Oh, no I was just wondering where the knob would have to be positioned to get equal volumes from both front and rear speakers. =)
  5. Thanks, yeah I was kind of figuring that but wasn't exactly sure.
  6. Hi, I have the SB Live 5.1 Platinum card and am getting Power DVD, (I have no decoder card) and I was wondering should I use the soundcard to decode the AC-3 sound or the Power DVD? I would think that the soundcard is the one to use. So in that case what settings do I have to use in Power DVD? Thanks for any advice.
  7. On the control pod the surround knob has a min and max, I was wondering is it at min that the volume is the same for rear and front speakers or is it halfway that the volumes are the same? I should probably be able to figure this out myself but can't DOH! Oh well thanks for any help =) Stupid title, can edit it LOL!
  8. Well, the reason the prices seem "more" in Canada is simply because of the difference in the dollar (ie. 1 dollar American = 1.5 dollar Canadian). It seems to me London Drugs won't get them (the 4.1s) in for a while nor do I precisely trust them that much. (They sell everything from drugs to toothpaste to magazines to cereal to electronics.) Since London Drugs is the only place any where near where I live they are my only option The next closest reputable place would be about a 6 hour drive one way! (12 hour round trip). This sucks! Oh well.....
  9. How in the world! Dangit!! Who shipped them out of the USA? Please tell me, because if they shipped to Lebanon then they will more than likely ship to Canada! Please oh please tell me! *grins* I need speakers!
  10. Yeah, basically the only place that I can get them at (within a 13 hour roundtrip drive) is London Drugs and I just don't trust London Drugs that much. Yeah, I don't know if they will be getting them in at all, probably not. This is rather irritating not even having a chance of getting them even when Klipsch has finally made enough 4.1s to satisfy demand. Stupid Canada! *laughs*
  11. Just wondering if anyone in Canada has got the 4.1s yet and if so from where? Thanks
  12. Well, I am waiting for the 4.1s to come out and I live in Canada. Since the 4.1s will only be available from the Klipsch website for the first while and they do not ship to Canada it means I and every other Canadian who wants a set are basically left out in the cold so to speak. Perhaps if we show Klispch that there are people who would GLADLY buy off of their website from Canada they might be convinced to ship to us or at least make a few exceptions since the 4.1 will be exclusively available on the website for maybe a month. I don't think I will be able to stand waiting a month (or more? or less?) knowing that if only I lived in the US I could be listening to the best computer speakers ever made! So any Canadians who would buy from the Klipsch website raise their hands..... err... hrm... maybe just post instead *grins* Any comment from the people at Klispch too would be greatly appreciated. Answers to questions like if Klipsh could ship the 4.1s to Canada (please, pretty please with sugar on top *grins*) or how long the 4.1s will be exclusively available on the website before hitting retail stores all over (I am expecting Canadian retailers to get their fair share too hehe).
  13. Hi, Since I am waiting for the new 4.1s to come out (I am thinking early May in Canada, why can't they ship to Canada damnit) I need bass!! So, I have this old receiver and two speakers that can pump out bass (not very accurate bass but it can still shake stuff in the room *grins*). I have a y-adapater connected to the soundcard and when I plug in the cable from the stereo with the stereo on the other speakers hooked up to the y-adapter become noticably louder. This leads me to believe that extra power/something from the stereo is going back into the soundcard or something is going on as the other speakers hooked up to the y splitter go louder. I was wondering if anyone knows what is going, if its good or bad, and if I should hook up the stereo for bass enjoyment? Thanks for any advice/tips in advance!
