That and his asking price is on the high side and in Cornwall territory.

By the way, I am right here, no need to use the third person.
In response to this I did a little bit of ebay research.
Cornwall completed auctions:
Pair 1 - $850 with minor cosmetic damage
Pair 2 - $455 (reserve not met) for dirty speakers that have an obvious liquid spill stain on them as well as some damage to the trim on the front of the speakers. Hardly what I would call "excellent" condition as the seller claims. These look pretty abused to me.
Pair 3 - $745 (reserve not met)
Now for the Forte II completed auctions:
Pair 1 - $555 for very dirty, and potentially moldy grills (and who knows what the interior is like if the exterior is in poor shape). Mine have never seen a basement.
Pair 2 - $521 for a pair with two crushed rear cones.
Pair 3 - Opening bid $687, no bids, perhaps because the seller described them as "minty".
Pair 4 - $790, but includes ~$100 (per sellers estimate) in cables.
Pair 5 - $500 (this pair seems to be an anomaly - good condition, and a low price).
Pair 6 - $484, and a whole slew of stains from using it as a drink table.
Pair 7 - $282 all banged up cabinets, replacement/mismatched components.
Pair 8 - $462 Another case of a crushed rear cone, and a chunk out of the cabinet.
So, there you have it, this is not an exhaustive list, and before someone comes out of the woodwork with a pair in "like new" condition for $25, this is just to illustrate what I used as data to price mine. You are getting a pair of speakers in excellent condition that will last a lifetime if not abused like some of the ebay examples. Again, any questions, feel free to ask.
