  1. ..................or.......

You could always do like me and buy a SVS PB/Plus2, or do like TheEAR...... and buy every subwoofer ever made by mankind.....and incorporate every one of them simultaneously into your soundsystem.....[;)]

When it comes to subs...... The EAR'meister is da man!!

    The EARmeister indeed.

  2. The Last time I was at one of the last local Klipsch storefronts, I wanted to audition an RT-12D, naturally they didn't have one, as well as any of the Heratige line.

Naturally the salesman tried to direct me to "BETTER" than Klipsch B&W Nautilus's, He kept saying, "Those Klipsch speakers will run off of a 9 volt battery". I told him that was a good thing, there very efficient. He went on rambling about how much better B&W was. That's when it dawned on me. I know why there's no Klipsch on the floor, They'd sound better then those B&W's and are half the money. If the cheaper speaker isn't on the floor, then the only comparison that can be made is the salesperson's word. Again, Klipsch needs to MANDATE that all dealers claiming to carry Klipsch, must maintain an inventory on the floor. They sell themselves.

This is a very good point that you bring up.

  3. I applaud your efforts.

But just remember, all of that power tends to flow downhill which provides additional momentum to the little electrons (after all, why do you think the transmission lines are higher than the house service entrance) and why the drop runs downhill from the line transformer to your house.

But if you have your amplifier higher than your wall outlet, the little electrons are going to need a boost. Sort of like giving them a phone book to sit on in the chair in order to reach the table. So maybe a fancy cable with pretty insulation can't hurt if they can give the little buggers a boost?

You can't overlook the little things! **

    (**Like logic!)

"and I did not pay over a $100.00 for any that I have"...Anything over about $20 including connector for an AC interconnect is suspect.

Mark, does this mean that I must place my amp. on the floor?

Please advise because my TV is also higher than my electric outlets.

  4. Oh I know David, I think we agree on outrageous cable tweak pricing and I just was saying good stuff can be found at reasonable prices you just have to shop around a little. [:D]

"...you can get a great cable that covers all the basic electrical anomalies at or under $150.00"

If we are considering $150 reasonable for an AC cable, we are still in the land of "outrageous cable tweak pricing".

May I suggest you "shop around a little" bit more.

    [;)]

You tell 'em Mark. There are many better items to waste money on than cables.

  5. The answer is obvious. Clearly, without question there's $1,901 more parts in the higher priced power cord. No doubt it weighs 1,900% more than that cheap arse cord. So cough up the money or your system will suffer from a dramatically serious loss of range, focus, detail, depth, clarity and downright purdiness. Hah!

Yea. And it don't rain in Indianapolis in the Summertime.

  6. you gotta be kidding - this isn't even snake oil for interconnects - it's a power cord?

I can't see how it moves electrons any more better. besides, what kind of wire is the electricity flowing in before it gets to the wall outlet? before it gets to your circuit breaker panel? upgrading the last 3 feet of conductor is a joke.

    You're right.!!

  7. OK, I know this company makes a fine product but I still have a hard time believing the Anaconda Helix is $1901.00 better than a Venom[:|] How exactly does one put that in perspective say to the sound difference in one another? I mean after all we are talking conductive wire here, no moving parts or electronics for that matter[*-)]

    shunyata anaconda helix

    shunyata python helix

    shunyata taipan helix

    shunyata copperhead

    shunyata copperhead

    shunyata venom

    Starting at $2000

    Shunyata
    Venom
    $99

I would never buy a cable that was named after a snake.!!!!

  8. What I like is at the very beginning of DVD # 1.

It starts out with some surrealistic images and some mumbling sound for about one or two minutes. You get lulled into it. Then it cuts directly to the boys starting into their first song. As the cut-over occurs, I get goose bumps and find myself reaching for the volume control to turn it up as loud as I can stand it. (which is pretty loud.!!) ......then someone checks with me about seven hours later to make sure that I turn off my system before I place my anti-dust towels on my equipment.

  9. Just watched Disc 4...some good stuff...Super Bowl show didn't sound like that, when broadcast here, no way......All in All, I'm happy with this DVD Set....Sound is Good,Not the same as Four Flicks..Let's drink to the hard workin' people...[Y]...Worth the money in my book...

Does Four Licks have better or worse sound?

I haven't listened to enough of the new one yet to offer an opinion.

However, 4 Flicks doesn't seem to have discrete 5.1 but maybe rather simulated. It sounds good but I can't hear the distinct 5.1 sound separation. It has 5.1, just not discreet, as far as I can tell. Anyone else have an opinion on this?

I like that SuperBowl show. To me it was real exciting to see all of those people under the undulating lips. And to know that, at that moment, the whole world (at least the part that matters) was watching my boys play.

  11. It taste's like sage and dirt.

It's not only the snakes you need to worry about though, black widows, brown recluses, scorpions, huge yellow jacket wasps, tarantula killing wasps, and trap door tarantula's also readily inhabit the area. If those don't get you the thorn plants and prickly pear cacti will. C'mon down sometime and we'll see how brave you are.

What a wonderful place to live.

Though I can't disagree with your inference as to the harshness of the South Texas bush country, it does take an open mind to see the beauty hidden within places like this.

Somehow I just knew that you would say this.

  12. [

As for talking with snakes, you are obviously completely ignorant to the fact that all a nimals display what is commonly refered to as body language. If you can't or don't understand this fact, what is the point of my carrying this discussion any further. You are oviously a mere antagonist, to which I would gladly oblige you, bring it on tough guy.

We are all ignorant, only on different subjects. I don't mind being ignorant about animal body language.

If I can't or don't understand this fact, then what is wrong with you helping me our and educating me?

I am not an antagonist. But I do try to be humorous and make this forum interesting.

As far as bringing it on................. I would be very careful saying that to a guy named ROC.!!!!!!

  13. It's Klipsch Magic.!!!

Please remember that our ears are human. They can only hear so well. How much better can other speakers sound compared to Klipsch. Could they actually sound so much better that they are worth the added thousands of dollars? I don't think so. Utopia in audio/video is an elusive, impossible goal to achieve. Seeking it will just drive you crazy. (That's how I got to be the way that I am)

Roc, It is driving me crazy. Only two years ago, I had a cheap Kenwood receiver and some small bookshelves. Now, with my McIntosh amp and RF83's, I find myself constantly thinking about upgrading. Most recently, I bought Cardas speaker cables (1200.00) and a power cable (265.00) I hear no difference. I kept the products, but where the hell does this thinking process end???????????????

That's when I tell astute new members such as yourself 'Welcome to the Madness'! [;)]

    Michael

    Perfect timing Michael.
