  1. Well my first experience with the Klipsch, was with the RF-82s Good thing the guys that had the display were metal fans.I played some Opeth blew me away at the quality of the speakers, then some Tool, that song The Pot even better, and then some System of a Down.
  2. HERE IS SOMETHING THAT WILL GO BOOM!!!!! LOL Velodyne Digital Drive 1812
  3. Yeah I am going to be going to college quite soon actually, after much debate,in two channel audio forum section, people saying go Outlaw,go Harman/Kardon,go Rotel, and such, someone mentioned,Pioneer.I checked them all out.and the Pioneer top model VSX-84TXSi from the elite siries looked the best 140watts per channel,to 7 channels,Faroudja DCDi HD Video Scaler,MCACC controlling the speakers with the mike, the levels and such.THX Select 2,HDMI, well everything I need and it was 1500$ like half the price of the Denon with the same features. SO THANKS TO EVERYBODY THAT HELPED ME!!!! If I have any other questions,i'll be sure to ask you guys in the forum.
  4. Wow you guys really go at it huh? lol Good times anyway,Does velodyne go best with a certain receiver? What reciever brand do you guys find the most impressive,I will give three options that I like and may consider buying,The DenonAVR3806,PioneerVSX-84TXSi,and the OnkyoSR804, I will hook up a RF-82 surround system to it,I want one that will run the sub well, for movies and music. I know alot of people say go seperates,But I am not knowledgeable about seperate amps and such.I will just be going good ol LFE or with the split for left and right channels, idk if that even makes a difference?Going with the left and right inputs? So basically does anyone have a perferance on receiver brands? I know the Denon is not THX Select2 Certified, would that make a difference in surround sound quality?
  5. Ok I know that a reciever is a important part of home theater...after researching for myself I have came down to three models. First the DenonAVR3806,Seconed the PioneerVSX-84TXSi,and last but not least the OnkyoTXSR804. Ok now that the models are out,let me tell you what I will use them for.First I will be using Blue Ray,from the PS3. For movies and music.I will have a SamsungHLS5688W HDTV,and be using digital sat. service.I will run an entire 7.1channel system using the Klipsch RF-82s RC-62 center,RS-52 surrounds, and a 12in Velodyne sub. So I would like opinions from either owners,or someone who knows about these receivers. Or maybe someone could reviews the stats on the site, and tell me which would be best,I really have no clue on which one would reproduce the best surround sound, and still have plenty of kick for music.[]
  6. Wow really it has all those features.Hmm...and isn't like pioneer a more respected name than onkyo? Ok so you guys are helping me,but now I have to do more research.lol Harman/Kardon,Outlaw,and Pioneer. Those are what i've been hearing thrown around the most.I will have to check their specs. Thanks, I want a top of the line reciever without having to spend 3000$ or 10,000$ on it. Budget like 1200$ sounds alot better to me.I do want to run an entire RF-82 system on it,maybe even up to seven channels. So i'll check your reccomends out.
  7. Sounds like you know your stuff. Do you know anything about onkyo recievers? I was looking at the TXSR804 I can get one at around 900$ I haven't heard it,but I know onkyo have a rep,in being one of the best you can get.105watts per channel into 8 ohms at 0.08%THD.THXselect2 certification,1080p HDMI switching.Sub zone 2 output. So on, it seems good, its not like yamaha where it is deceptive with the wattage display. It actually has 7 different pre amps at 105watts each am I correct on that?
  8. What are the dimensions of the RC7??? meaning woofer tweeter sizes? is it anything close to an RC-62?
  9. I recently bought a Velodyne DLS4000R 12" sub. and want to buy some RF-82s would that sub pair well with the 82s I love the clean sound of the velodyne, for being under 1000$ it is alot more than I expected.
  10. Wouldn't the Onkyo be better than the Harman/Kardon your running??? Onkyo has a seperate output for a zone 2 sub even.Of course hdmi video switching, thx certification, and so on.Someone tell me if I am completely full of it talking about Onkyo. I thought they were one of the best recievers?
  11. Hmm Harman/Kardon being new to this why is Harmon/Kardon such a good reciever??? is it wattage, imaging,or what? What are yours or anyones view on Onkyo? Be honest I want to be getting a good reciever,to power the klipsch. So Basically what makes a good reciever?
  12. Ok I have heard a few things about recievers, but overall I am clueless, any one know of good reciever brands??? I have heard that Denons work better for klipsch,I like Onkyos their kinda what I wanted to go with. But idk if the one I was looking at has enough power to really get the speakers rockin. The Onkyo TXSR804 puts out 105 watts per channel to 7 channels.I know the RF-82s peak at like 600watts.If I want to get the house rockin with rock, metal,or jazz.Should I go with something that puts out 140watts to a channel,or will the 105 be sufficent? I am going with the whole surround set up as well.RC-62 and RS-52s.Also will a Velodyne DLS4000R 12" Sub compliment the RF-82s? Any info will be greatly appriciated.
  13. Ok that helps, and well the RF-82 are slightly larger then the 7s right. I really loved the imaging on the speakers, they were about 18ft apart and only the towers were running, the sub was even off,and you could swear the center channel was on.Some of the best imaging I have ever heard, was this due to the speakers,or the high powered reciever? I am almost 100% sure I should go with klipsch. This will be my first home theater system, before this I had a weak yamaha hometheater in a box set up,it was so sad I turned them up and pop pop pop,the left and right channels died it was funny, but hey it was still money, well never again I am going to do home theater right, and these should be great for music to. and thanks to the internet,I found out how bad BOSE speakers really were,I cant believe I almost wanted a lifestyle system bleh.
  14. Well for the whole home theater experience I will have to get the RC-62 Center, and the RS-52 surrounds.I alreadly have what I think is a ok sub 12" Velodyne. It should match well with the 8s in the 82s.Someone told me paradigms were better speakers, and someone even said Polk. Was the best.Should I go and test these other systems out.Or will I find klipsch with the tactrix?horn tweeter. To be a better buy?
  15. Yes they do seem to be very efficient, even at low power the mids and highs were still strong.I am mostly going to be listening to music on them, mostly rock,I just hope they can take it.In the store we cranked them really loud, and there was little to no distortion. But the reciever was Denon not onkyo. Will Denons work better with klipsch, than Onkyo? Being made in China will that dirastically effect sound reproduction? and how many watts should my reciever put to each channel to get a great sound? The one I had in mind was 105watts to 7 channels.
