  1. If not subs then what should I upgrade? Maybe we need some audio in the bedroom. []
  2. I do a lot of multichannel music listening and this addition has improved everything somewhat. I'm satisfied for now, but I've got 3 channels of power left and don't know what to do with them? Thanks for your input guys.
  3. Haha yeah you're right I AM going to add a sub in the kitchen down the road, but I'm not spending 2.5 grand on it...that's insane! I instead bought a Outlaw Audio stereo receiver and a pair of Paradigm Studio 40s which sounds (and looks) SO MUCH better. I'm really happy and now the sound matches the picture. I just stuck the receiver in the cabinet above the microwave and ran the speaker wire to the TV, Set it up, problem solved. []
  4. For those wondering, I ordered this 5ch amp to power each sub individually and build my own subs to save money. http://statement.anthemav.com/HTML/Technology/P_Series/P_Series_Tech.html I'm going to start with just an 18 Q for the center channel in the cabinet right under the TV screen powered by 2 channels of that amp (1 for each VC) for maybe 1700w and see how that does until I save the funds to get some for the surrounds. I can't wait to try it out.
  5. That'd be a hard choice for me as well. []
  6. I myself use an IB for the main LFE in my ht and I HIGHLY recommend it! It's 6 Q18s and 3 EP2500s and I assure you it's way better than any conventional sub I've ever heard! [] I'm sure I'll be upgrading here sometime in the future.
  7. These look promising. http://www.us.martinlogan.com/speaker_intro/depth_i.html
  8. Great! It's too bad I'll have to wait for them to be in stock. [:'(] Another problem. I have a pretty weak audio system for the TV right now. I know it has a aubwoofer output...but that would be pointless to put $2500 of subwoofers on a cheap $100 shelf system... http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Specifications-of-Sharp-Shelf-System-XL-UH240/sem/rpsm/oid/144805/rpem/ccd/productDetailSpecification.do#tabs Do you think I should get a stereo pre-amp, amplifier, and some nice speakers to go along with the SVS?
  9. I looked and could fit just 2 in there with a little wiggle room. That looks like the way to go, but will it go well for music too? [*-)]
  10. Ah, yes. If I wanted to extend each channel to 20hz with musical subs what should I look at? I could budget maybe $1500 a sub for each surround and the center. What are the more musical subs? I do a lot of multichannel music listening and think musical subs are the way to go. [] I also game and watch TV, movies, etc.
  11. Hey I don't want it to sound dull and boring while I'm watching TV (or a movie) while eating!! It's ~20x12x11. I figure I could spend maybe 2.5k? I want to try and fit it in the cabinet under the TV, if possible. Much thanks!
  12. I was wondering if it would be beneficial to use subs on my surrounds and centers? I currently use 4 Paradigm Studio 40s for surrounds and a CC-690 center. Thanks for input.
  13. Hi. I want to add a sub to the mini-system I have in my kitchen. What should I be looking at? What would I need to put ripples in cups of water; in the sink?
