  1. I thought I gave it away when I said the grills were not removed for a good reason. Those are metal grills screwed on the speaker, they can not be removed.
  2. Neither. Come on guys look at them closely
  3. I think Amy got it. The disc as we know it will disappear to be replaced by HD, jump drives and direct downloads to them or some kind of storage unit.
  4. Having both systems (one with towers all around and one with surround speakers) I can tell you if you are listening mainly to music the towers would be your best choice, for HT movie experience go with the WDST type speaker. For what it is worth, the all towers system still does a pretty good job in a Ht set up as well.
  5. The grills were left on for a very good reason, if you find out which one they are you will know why. That is a hint right there. yes they are SB 1 Not yet one more to go Hmmmmm......... should you ???
  6. The hingys are indeed RF 3 II ( LMAO) I know what you mean by RF 52 being RS 52, Ihave been married for long enough to read minds. I just which women came with just one swicth On or Off, That still leaves the white pair. Not RS 7
  7. Yoda says: Wise you are becoming my son but not yet, try again
  8. That i s correct they are RF 3 II You had it right the first time, no SB 2 or 3 I'm wondering if that makes it unique? May be I should not sale it or if do I should ask for a zilllion dollars for it. What do you think Dr colter ?
  9. Welcome to the forum, HDMI should no be a concern with what you are trying to do. The TV does not have the input for it so you won't get a better picture even if the receiver had it. You don't have a 5.1 system or a blu ray player either, It would be useless to spend the money to upgrade to HDMI or SACD for that matter. Using an optical cable will do just fine I do not know the DVD and CD models you mentioned but it might be better to look into a 5 disk charger dvd player. Concerning the sub, it is a hard choice because of the neighbors, the rw 10 might be all you can get without getting everybody mad at you. This is probably true for the speakers as well
  10. That is true and I had the same concern ( we saw what happened with HD DVD) but you would never buy anything with such a logic. I choose the PS3 because it gave me a 4 in1. It is internet capable, a gaming console, a media center and a blu ray player. The sound improvement is noticeable, don't even mention the picture quality, and it is nice to have all my music on it or get it of the computer if I'm to lazy to load on the PS3. That is hard to beat for $ 499.
  11. Darn you were doing so good. Try again
  12. Come on guys you can do it. So far no one got all of them right, all the speaker models have been mentioned but one. Hints : There are no RF 5 in the picture. no SB 3 either So what is missing?
  13. I never had more than 2 systems running at once. All the centers were bought for experimentation purposes ( besides Arky's Rc 7 which was my first step into the 7 serie world). A long time ago I had heard people talking about using center channels as there main speakers as well as surround, I just wanted to try to see how it sounded and may be comply with the WAF. yeah right like that was going to happen
  14. May be you guys really don't want me playing this game, do you? No no no Dr colter I'm just a simple mini colter.
  15. I think they are but my knowledge on heritage speakers is very limited. The tags are long gone, so how do I find out? Sure looks the same to me
  16. I think they are but my knowledge on heritage speakers is very limited. The tags are long gone, so how do I find out?
  17. Yes it was my collection, unfortunately I have to sale most of them. For that matter the RF 3 II, RS 3II , one RC 64 and some of the RC 3 are already gone. I should have the heresy and few others up for sale sometimes today ( I can' t tell which one without revealing all the speaker models [] )
  18. Pretty good but you got 3 of them wrong I'm really impressed by the fact you got the heresy model right, what was the give away on those?
  19. Very impressive but you missed 4 speakers and got 3 pairs wrong. What do you think about the copper RC 3?
  20. link Let see how well you know your klipsch speakers Can you identify all these speakers?
  21. You pretty much answered your own questions. The XPA-5 is a good choice and it will do the job but if you can afford it I would get the XPA-2 for the main front and get the XPA 5 for the rest of the system. All you need to do is to hook up the preamp out to the amplifiers. As stated before with this type of speakers, there is just so much your receiver can do before it falls short, just let the big boys do the job, that why they are there for.
  22. Welcome to the forum. You should PM inventor, he had the exact same problem. He might be able to help you out.
  23. That I can understand if you are setting your X-over on the receiver to something like 80Hz you would want to turn the sub to 120Hz (or highest setting on the knob). His suggestion was to set it to 120Hz in the AVR which I would disagree with. We are talking about two different issues. I don't discuss the fact that you would have the X-over limit set or the number you would chose to set it at on the receiver but the fact that his suggestion regarding on how you should have the sub low pass knob set. It can not be done on that particular model, therefore my previous suggestion was the most appropriate. Regarding the X-cross over setting level, I think the speakers themselves and your hear would guide you to the appropriate setting but I do have mine set at 80 HZ.
