  1. Thanks for the reply. I am losing my mind trying to figure out what to buy and where to install it. Ceiling mount? Rear wall mount? Side wall mount? OR RP-140sa?? Would they bounce off the ceiling if mounted on top of my rf7's?? I have a $400 budget. This is the room layout behind and above couch
  2. guys, may I get your opinion on rs-3 for the surrounds>??> I can get them to fit, they are small enough. Opinions? thanks!
  3. Futurist, will you please create your own post instead of hijacking mine??? You are confusing people and well , this is my post with my issues., thanks
  4. ok., this is the latest... I got rid of the bi-amp setup and hooked it up the conventional way to my denon. I moved the rf7's a foot off the wall and towed them in.. Sounds ALOT better! Still a tad to harsh but getting there! now..... I picked up a Velodyne F1500 for the orig owner and will refoam it this week, I am going to sell my Polk sub and use the Velodyne. Should hit hard I need sorrounds but the RS7's are way to freaking big. I need something small to hang off the ceiling OR ceiling speakers, PLEASE help me find something that will go well with my rf7's.! Thanks so much guys!! awesome community I attached a pic of what it looks like behind the couch.
  5. Guys. I am going to work on the system tomorrow. I will get the speakers away from the wall a little. What do you mean by toe?? Does that mean turn the speaker towers a little inward towards middle of room?? also the rs7 will be to big to install. I am looking for something smaller. Any ideas?? Possibly ceiling mount
  6. Guys. I will connect klipsch jumper wires back on the speakers and connect it to the Marantz. I have no rear speakers and no decent bluray player. So what would you do?? Say I sell both amps for 500. What is more important? Rear speakers or better center channel and which model will work with my setup.
  7. Agreed. I cant afford to go crazy at the moment.
  8. Ok guys. Dis what you stated. I have a xbox one for now to test sound. Thats the best I can do. Before I had a mortgage I had the money to buy the rf7. Now with a mortgage I dont have tje coin to spend 800 on a center channel. I am on a budget at thd moment. What do you guys think about these amps??? Thanks for the help
  9. Wvu80. I got the amps from my brother for free and I know they are of good quality. Problem is I dont know much about them either took a more detailed pic for you. I will reset EQ to 0db I bi-wired the rf-7's, please look at the amp wiring. Literally I did post to post. BUT reading in back of the amp it looks like I am running at 4 ohms now, not 8 . SO L goes to left RF7, R goes to Right RF7 and C goes to Center channel BTW, I have 2 of these amps and first time I have ever owned home audio amps, lol.
  10. Hello everyone. I did some invesitgation and took pics, so here it goes... 1-) What is a good audio source? I cannot afford high end unless used. I suppose I am looking for a cd player?? Or vinyl? 2-) Direct is on AUTO Audio/Dialog level adj ON/Level 0DB Audio/M-DAX , Mode LOW I do not what in Gods name I am doing with this EQ!! I did not know about Pandora, I know it was compressed and "like" cd quality. please look at the pics and I know the wiring needs work. Thank you again everyone!
  11. Thanka for the replies. Tonight I will check what you guys mentioned. Please keep in mind the marantz is not poweribg them, the denon is. Did I understand one of the replies that the wiring might be wrong from the fac inside the speaker?? I do not have a glass table. This is listening from Pandora. I do not have any other music source at the moment. Will check marantz settings. I do know that the speakers are labeled large and center channel is small.
  12. hello everyone, new guy here. I am hoping you can help me with my RF-7's that I finally hooked up after 8 years! They sat in a temperature controlled room and there is no dry rot or anything but my God do they sound harsh and to high. The center channel speaker (RC-52II) that is made in China sounds better then them I am very new to this and did some research, I have noticed I am not the only one complaining about how harsh they are. I have read up on the crossover mod by a man named Dean Wescott but I cannot find his website or contact info??? The speakers are hooked up to a Denon POA-8300 amp and I use a Marantz SR5011 as a preamp. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I tried messing with the receiver settings but cannot get rid of harshness. Please ignore the wiring mess Was trying all sorts of things thinking it was me.
  13. Old timer, thanks for the reply. I screwed up on the model. I meant to say rcw-5! http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-RCW-5-In-Wall-Speakers-1-or-2-pair-NEW_W0QQitemZ220183530342QQihZ012QQcategoryZ14994QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem what do you think? thanks!
  14. Hey guys, here is a simple question for you. I cant make up my freaking mind here. I have rf-7's in my living room, a sub and I want to add rear speakers in the wall due to space limit. I want them to match the rf7's as much as poss. SO, if you had to choose a inwall speaker and $400 for the pair or less what would you go for? I wass thinking of the rs-62. all comments are appreciated! I have a onkyo pro receiver that will be delievering 110 watts to each. Thanks!!! Ralph
  15. May I ask what the upgraded crossovers do?? Do you buy new crossovers or do you modify your own? thanks!
  16. Hey Arky, I have been readin up on it. They had firmswares to fix the pre-amp issues. I like outlaw as well but no HDMI and I dont want a switch. Is there anything coming in the near future?? I heard Emotiva is on the sunfire platform but made in China. Unf I cant afford hard core U.S or European stuff. I heard many times in the past of the great service from outlaw and Emotiva
  17. Thanks Arky, I appreciate it. I know some people dont care for Denon and some like it. So I guess I didnt word my post right. I dont know if the Emotiva amps would be BETTER or equal to the Denon's. They are offering a killer deal. Have a good one Ralph
  18. Hey guys, here is the deal. I have a pair of Rf-7's and 2 denon POS-8300 amps. I was going to buy a receiver or a preamp and use the amps for the speakers and sorrounds. But then i saw a deal Emotiva was having for $1499 which is this http://www.emotivaaudio.com/sale.html. so would you SELL the denon amps and put money towards the Emotiva set and use that OR would you keep the amps and just by the Emotiva preamp??? I heard great reviews of the amps and preamps. thanks !! Ralph
  19. Thanks guys, will let you know how it goes when everything is installed. Now looking for a receiver and center channel. Ralph
  20. Hey guys, thanks for the help. I dont have the manuals to these amps and cant find much info on them. I took a pic in the back of them and hoping you guys could tell?? there is NO switch of any kind. rob755, i got your pm and will get back to you tonight. thanks guys ralph
  21. rsp1068, what does bridged mean? does it mean connecting both amps , which will double the pwoer to the channels? so instead of 100w x 2 , it will be 200w x 2?? if so does this effect sound or puts stress on the amps? thanks!
  22. Thanks guys, ia ppreciate the help and kindness. I got a good deal on them ($900) new and couldnt pass the deal. talk soon Ralph
  23. Thanks for the replys, yes you can daisey chain them. I am surprised you said the powersupplies look a little weak. They werent cheap at the time./ the reason I am using them is I got them for free and they are pratically new I jsut need to figure out a preamp and i am ready to roll. Worse comes to worse I save up for amps. thanks! Ralph
  24. Hey guys, I got the RF-7's and going to put everything together soon. here is my question. I am going to be getting a preamp for my 2 denon POA-8300's. These amps are pretty much new and I am curious how to hook up the rf7's to 1 channel?? I would think the Denon will be good enough for the rf-7's. here is a pick of the internals. Anyone know anything about these amps?? thanks!
