  1. Ken your deffinately NOT shy, LOL me and Cristina was at the table with you . We didnt know how to take it but it was very funny . It was our first time and we really enjoyed it . I know the next year will be easier , now that we know what to exspect. Great people to hang out with . Thanks everyone and Thank you Klipsch

  2. I have the cf3s which are the same other than the woofers ( i think)? The cf4s have 12s and the 3s have 10s. Klipsch has replacemts for my cf3s so i would assume they would have them for your cf4s. As far as the horn , the part # for the cf3s is k-63-kn 2" compression driver kit $304.18 each and they do have them in stock . I hope this helps, go to contact on this forum and they will lead you in the right direction 1-800-274-5547 . Great peolpe to deal with and very fast service . As far as replacing , its simple .6 screws and 2 wires . just pay attention to your positive + and negative - wires , when installing your new driver.. Sorry about you father.

  3. Ive been wondering about upgrading my DenonCd player model # DCD 810. On the front panel it has 2DAC / 4Times over sampling Double Super Linear Converter. I bought this new in 1988 $500.00, its always been a good cd player to me . Since ive really gotten into my music , i used a test cd one night that plays a track for a test of noise i believe. Any way your instructed to turn your volume up as the sound track is going down until you reach max volume . As the sound track is going down almost completely, you can hear a slight distortion in the left side . I have did all my process of eliminations, narrowing it down to the cd player. I used my dvd player from another room and the noise isnt there! So question , is this Denon worth repairing or is it time to move forward? Thanks for any input Chris[*-)]
  4. Well i decided listen to some albums tonight noticed that when you bump the lid ever so lightly you get a light thumpy like sound out of the spkrs , you dont get it with the volume down but it does get louder as the volume goes up. Even at very low listening levels you can get a good thump per say . Its like the lid but not the main body of the turntable is picking up things , can this be?

  5. Well im working on my system as we speak , had to take a break so that i dont lose my mind. Well ive got my spl meter and im still learning this so it may take a bit. As far as the output, ive narrowed things down a bit. I swithched the rca cables never really noticed a difference. But while working on things i found that i have a static sound like a very low distortion issue in my left channel. When you are listening to something and it starts to fade away at the end of the song that is. You can hear a deffinate staic in the left spkr , switch rca cables and it comes from the right spkr . So i switched to my old yamaha to use as a preamp and unhooked everything else . So now im running my Denon Cd player into the Yamaha then to the Phaselinear amp. Staic is still there, like i said earlier its very faint when just listening but if your really listening you can hear it . Question , could the cd player be at fault. It is from the mid 80s. Denon DCD 810

  6. Thanks for the reply, i should be getting a spl meter this week and ill do what you said and go from there. As far as my amp that im using , its a phase linear 400 made in 1977 so thats why i asked if something may be getting week? i thought maybe a tech would have some device he could hook up to the outputs and see? Thanks again

  7. Is there a way to tell if you amplifier is putting equal power into left and right speakers? I know recordings are different, when im listening to my setup it doesnt matter what music or were im at in the room . My attention always goes to the right speaker. Can a amplifier get (weak) on one side ? And if so what kinda test can be done to determine this? I have ruled out speaker wires being out of phase , that is all good . Thanks for any suggestions..... Chris
  8. Thanks , i appreciate that. I did PM you with the addy . Im glad to be apart of this forum, people really seem to help each other and that means alot! If there is anything i can do in return please ask. Thanks again..................Hope to meet ya in Indy Chris

  9. Im sorry , i dont have a options tag to hit . I replied to your last post which is what im on as your reading this. The only thing that even comes close to getting a pic on a reply is the Insert/editimage and content selector . Sure wish there was a way to figure this out .The only place i get the option tag is when im posting a new post. Not when you do the quick reply. Am i missing something here?

  10. Wonder if i should move my rear CF3s up front and stack on top of the other set of CF3s? It would be rather dominating in my living room , but on the other hand it would sound better than having a CF3 at each corner of the room . Ive been listening only to the front set for more of the soundstage and imaging. So the rears are hardly being used now . Also been listening to my music set flat------- no bass no trebble no nothing , and it sounds good. The only issue with the CF3s is that im finding the stage to be low at normal sitting height. It just seems if as everything is about the same height as the horns , so instead of putting stands under the spks i could just stack? The only down side is they are 41" tall each My living room is only 8'

  11. Thanks once again everyone for your input. Well i was hoping to get that SPL meter this week , not going to happen .Other priorits came up, bills bills bills , you know we all got them lol. Any way i will have one soon enough. Just a note , i came across a old IASCA cd, The audiophile reference series( international auto sound competion association)cd . I used to be in car audio years ago and did some judging and competing. This cd helped me find a speaker that was out of Phase, it has a series of audiable test , which really helps out . Is there any other types of these cds that anyone knows of for the home?

  12. The Jubillee`s they look like they would peel the paint off the walls , Mahogany would really look nice. And why , there just isn`t a substitution for cubic inches" I love big sound and lots of it. I havent listened to the Jubes but im sure i would be in heaven.[:D] As far as my CF3`s go , if im on the floor about 7' back dead center these spkrs sound outstanding. With Jubes i think just about anyplace in the room would be outstanding!!

  13. Just returning from town , i did go to radio shack and looked at both analog and digital. The person working today was not to helpful at all. Nor could she find the box or instructions so ill i have is a visual of each. The analog has a sweep type meter that reasd up to a -0-1-2-3-4 +6 db w/ selectable db ranges in 10 db increments. Do you set it to whats closet of your reading , say 90-100-db then use the needle to get as close to the nearest # and thats your reading? Thanks for your replys Chris I see that Parts Express has some really nice ones , but is it worth the $80.00 versus RS $44.99 for analog $49.99 digital
