  1. Anyone have $5k to spare? http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/ele/372360315.html
  2. Guys, I ended this auction to sell to a forum member who then backed out, requiring me to relist the item. I'm not upset about this and I understand the circumstances, but please try to treat others as you would want to be treated. Everyone's time is valuable.
  3. Wow, tough crowd - I have two negative feedback out of 27, one of which is from 9 years ago! You are more than welcome to stop by beforehand and have a look if you're undecided. I'm still on the lookout for a set of Klipschorns - now I'll have the room! can we negotiate something, heck I can pick them up since your location is so close. PM me a phone number and let's talk. I'd definitely prefer a local pickup and it would be nice to sell to a forum member.

  5. Oddly enough, I actually think I like the decorator version more. I like the light colored wood of these as well. I just have to make sure the wife feels the same way. You're right though, Boston is an easy drive as long as you don't leave on Friday afternoon. Thanks for the tip though. I won't be able to get there until this weekend at the earliest so maybe the seller will be more motivated by then. Noah, thanks for the PM. You're welcome to come have a listen. I am tied up with work through Wednesday, but Thursday evening or on the weekend would be fine. I'll PM you more info.
  6. I have a couple photos on this thread (second page). If anyone would like something more detailed, I can email them. I'm in Hoboken, NJ just across the Hudson from NYC. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/2/926254/ShowThread.aspx
  7. Hah! Maybe looking for a push... Come take a look/listen and see what's a fair price. Something in the 5-600 range would probably make me happy. They're not mint, but look pretty darn good from the listening position (ie about 10 feet away).
  8. Someone want to buy my Cornwalls so I can snag these??
  9. Incidentally, 6/32 is the correct pitch - 3/8" seems to work fine for bare wire, but 1/4" would be better for connectors as the 3/8" will not tighten down 100%.
  10. Thanks! They've got a nice sound to them and are dead reliable. Not to mention that I like the look on top of the cabinets
  11. Indy, I re-read my own words and they do sound a bit idiotic. I was trying to summarize two questions in the subject line - first, to ask how to correctly repair the terminals. Then, also to find out what the CWs are worth and whether there was someone with some KHorns looking to downgrade to CWs plus some dough. Or perhaps a straight up sale to buy the KHorns. I have a tolerant wife and (as of yet) no kids so I need to sneak the good toys in now. Bob, I'm going to try to find matching screws here. If I can't, I'll be looking for a set of those terminals. Bill, Still working on the pictures - just got home. Stephen
  12. Bob - Those are an exact match! When I look at the terminals, I think the only part missing from mine are the screws to tighten down the cables. I didn't realize the tips of the mounting screws should be exposed like that. Do you happen to know the specs of the small screws (thread pitch, length)? Bill - I'm located in New Jersey just outside of NYC. The tags read as follows: Klipsch Cornwall Loudspeaker System Type: CWLS Serial: 30X773 / 30X774 The copyright date is 1980 on the tag, so I assume the production date is sometime in the early 80s. I'll take some pictures tonight and post them. Thanks everyone.
  13. Hello Everyone, I recently joined the Klipsch fold by picking up a pair of Cornwalls from a friend moving out of town. They are overall in nice shape and I've been enjoying the sound. Aside from a few dings and scratches, the only real issue is a couple missing screws from the terminal strip, which makes connecting cables a pain. I've cleaned up this pair a bit and they look pretty darn good. I've been trying to decide whether to finish the job by re-doing the terminal strips or sell to upgrade. A pair of K-Horns have been calling to me and I finally have the space. So, a couple questions: 1) How does one remove/replace the terminal strips on Cornwalls? Where could I pick up parts for this that are original or close enough so that it won't spoil the look of the speakers? 2) If I decide to sell, what's the going price for a set of nice sounding and OK-looking Cornwalls? Anyone out there interested in downgrading from Klipschorns to a pair of Cornwalls? Thanks for any help! Steve
