  1. The shear fact that these "groups" are actually able to destroy and shut down towns, cities and other communities is the most scary of all of this for me. Hey, its a great thing the majority of the US has to get up and go to work.  Think about these events on a 10X and 20X scale, now that's kind of frightening.  I cant help but think of what might be in the cards election night too.

Well, the supply Preppers gained a little respect this year and the ET community were thrown a bone from the Naval video's. We have been introduced to modern day Zombies that are completely consumed with social networking and all that is just dark hate.  They're stealing the comfort of Peace, Freedom and Liberty from us all and its looking like this is exactly what a few large, broke areas of country want.

Maybe all of this needs to happen for us to get where we need to be?

A few years ago, one of the guys who played BBall with us talked about how he'd only get 2-4 hours per night and didn't really feel shorted.

His Heart likely does and now they are starting to link Alzheimers and Dementia from lack of quality rest.

What they are going to say is "What the hell is this S***?" regardless of whether it's an iPod or tape or LP or CD.

But many will be appreciative and find it interesting delving in to your full envelope of musical interests over the years. And who knows, just maybe one of the receiving folk will just be very appreciative to receive something that you enjoyed.

  4. Wow.

Im sure that Ipod stuck in a box in an attic will bring a lot of joy to a grandkid that receives it once they're old enough to appreciate music of the past. Hopefully it will play and not get wet or rust out or the battery die in decades to come.   Nevermind having an album cover to gaze at while holding or the thought of when and where their now gone gramps or grams might have purchased it or where they were in life to find interest in said Artist.   Who else here possibly inherited and old album collection from a friend or loved one that has real meaning?  Digital media, Yay!

Speaking of pepper growers, it's time to let Jimjimbo back in here.  He grows the most unique varieties and I have been able to transform them in the past into some unique and highly popular sauces.

Hmm. I didnt know he had left.

When I sold the K Horns I had all of the parts to build a pair of highly modified K Horns. The reason that I sold them was because I did not want to make that many changes to such rare speakers (I was told by HDBR Builder that maybe 6 pairs were made in Tigerwood). I still have everything. As a matter of fact I am doing some wood work this weekend and will probbaly attach some mahogony to my bass bins to have them complete.

Before I could finish the project I saw an old pair of B&W DM3000's for sale in the newspaper so I went and heard them. I was blown away by them, especially the midrange. I bought them. Less than one week later I drove to Los Angeles with a hangover to pick up a pair of B&W N801's. Earlier this year I sold the N801's and bought a pair of B&W Signature 800's. The N801's and S800's are just amazing. They image like crazy, true 3D deep imaging without a big gap (horseshoe shape) in the middle. They have a coherance that was like a pair of single driver speakers that I had for a short time. Tons of detail. I actually heard noise in my system that I did not hear with 103 db efficient K Horns and changed a bunch of equipment to get rid of it. And when you turn them up they just get louder, the tone does not change, images do not get bigger and they do not get harsh. I'm pretty happy with them and my wife actually likes the way that they look in out living room (they are a special edition finished in grey Tiger's Eye veneer and Black conolly leather, only 1000 pairs were made).

All these years and I just thought you liked Tiger Woods..... No BS

That's a tough call (seriously).  Protecting others vs eating and paying your bills.

It really is.   Its easy for some to say stay home.  It comes down to protecting yourself and not just thinking putting a mask on will save your day.  I just want to know why so many sweaty protesters and all these large gatherings arent getting carted in by the troves.

  8. Talked to a Doctor across the fence last night.  He said many are coming in with allergy like symptoms and testing positive.  He said none in weeks have been serious, just a scratchy throat for a day or two, congestion and they're over it in two or three days.  He also said unfortunately, many are continuing to work.

  9. So it looks like schools will open for a week and then close for 14 days, since literally everyone is already infected.   Then maybe on the 21st day we reopen?   And since this may not work, do we all just put our kids in day care like so many of the other kids that are already there ?

On Wednesday, Texas again set a new high with nearly 10,800 new cases, along with a record 110 deaths.

The rising toll includes 35 deaths that officials on the Texas-Mexico border said happened Wednesday morning alone in Hidalgo County. That was more than twice the number of new deaths reported in Harris County — which has five times the population — and where Texas’ largest school district decided that Houston public schools would not only postpone the first day of class but conduct the first six weeks of learning online.

They are double counting deaths? Double counting current number of people in hospital who are Covid-19+, double counting patients in ICU, on respirators?

Texas is new record deaths the last 5 days in Texas.

Forget the cumulative totals, they mean nothing to you or your family. Look at the numbers, deaths, hospital beds occupied, ICU beds, respirators in use,  in your area on Monday, Tuesday and Wed. The cumulative totals are only fodder for politicians at this point. Over half the deaths are in the last two weeks in Texas. Those deaths are the result of what those people were doing 2 to 4 weeks ago. Children are usually the ones we have a difficult time getting to understand the the long range consequences of behavior today but for some reason it is difficult to get people to understand how this works.

What would they say to the families of 110 people who died yesterday who are positive? "Hey don't worry about your dead mother, father, sister, brother, child, the numbers are all crap, well . . . except maybe in their case, oh well, just like the flu."

What do you say to the 10,000 plus new cases in Texas yesterday? Or is the point that it's probably only 5,000 new cases? Those hospital bed numbers are real numbers, just look at those. What do you say to them? "The good news is that even though you are in the hospital, the numbers are all crap, we just got you in here for the extra $36,000 we make, the bad news is if you have to go on a respirator there is a mortality rate of somewhere between 50 and 75%?"

Texas, like 24 other states only reports "confirmed" deaths, not "probable". There is still a lag, a death today may not get reported for several days to a week. Since Texas only reports "confirmed" deaths, those numbers are very, very, very real. If anything the Texas numbers are under-reporting deaths from Covid-19. So if you died at home you won't be counted. Why? There are not enough tests to go around to test dead people, we need them for living people.

Is your state in a surge? Are your day over day deaths trending up? Texas was at 30 deaths per day on July 4th, now up to 110. Texas. The Governor announced on July 6th when he clamped down again that we should expect to see numbers doubling and continuing to rise through at least the first week of August. It takes a month for a policy change on wearing masks, businesses opening, closing down, whatever, to show an effect. Abbott is now listening to a top epidemiologist out of Baylor. They focus on positivity rate, hospitalizations, beds in use, beds available, ICU beds in use/available.

The question I have is why and how are people being sucked into this double "daily case" red herring? Covid+ beds are not being double counted, neither are deaths. Those daily numbers, since July 6th have not been painting a pretty picture in Texas.

All good points.  Its just frustrating to see data that really isnt usable other than a bed rate or a death rate. Cant really use the numbers on the general population that arent seriously affected by it and hospitalized.  The crap is all around us.  Im headed to hide under a rock on the Bama/  FL line for a week. Y'all wish me luck.

Reference? There’s no medical need to retest someone with covid19 this frequently. If they feel the 1st test may have been errant then maybe. But it’s like being diagnosed with cancer and then getting rediagnosed in 2 weeks time.......   you stilll have the same cancer. No covid19 infection resolves in 10 to 14 days. No need to retest unless they’re in a research protocol.

Well thats kind of why I was bringing it up. Who can trust any of the numbers we are seeing  with multiple counts on an individual?  Many states are doing this now and some are starting to. This process is also been noted in the U.K.  Why isnt anyone saying all the data is crap at this point no matter which way it swings?

  12. Not trying to wash out the seriousness of the virus, but why double count someone if they test positive and then again 10-14 days later? It seems this is the way for many states and others are adopting it too.

  13. I dont know about deterrents, but that foaming killer that shoots 20 feet or so is mean stuff.  You get that on them and they fall and dont move.  Yellow jackets have taking over around here the past few years. Dont even see reds or dirt dobbers any more, just a big wad that looks like the photo on an old box of Remington 22 hollowpoints.

I jerked the back door of my shop (which I rarely use) open the other night to tell my two dogs to pipe down on my last nerve, as I was angled out yelling it felt like an ant was down my shirt unknowing what was going on. And then it hit as I brushed it off my shoulder and then took one in the left butt cheek.  As I was shucking and jiving from the backside of the shop I looked up and there was the nest, not even 10 inches from my head.  Luckily, only had 10 or so on it or I would have been hammered.  I thought about it, and couldnt remember the time I got lit up without knowing it was coming. I cant say if it was better or worse.

What is your opinion on the death rate dropping in the US even though the infection rate is rising?  Better treatments?  More accurate tallying as to what is actually a virus death?  It seems counter intuitive that this is happening.

I read an Italian Doc speculated that it was weakening from the mutation process and would likely disappear before we find a meaningful  vaccine

  15. I have been dealing with it for a year or two now.    Got a couple shots in my heel and that helped a bit, but it always came back.    I have a pretty high arch and the only relief I would get is put supports in my shoes.

These are worth their weight in gold. I buy two pair at a time and a pair last about 6 months for me.

These shoes are killer too.  Lightweight. water friendly and extremely comfortable removable sole insert.

The shoes and inserts are what kept me going and I had to wear them everywhere for about 6 months before I could go back to a Bus Casual loafer.

Gotta wonder how many of you on this forum are actually taking this supposedly wonderful drug, rather than simply slinging the Fox News right wing bullshit rhetoric.  Or are you really just taking your normal Flintstones gummies?

Im drinking more Milk, Spending more time in the Sunshine working my butt off and hoping this Rhetoric hangs around a good bit longer, even as inconvenient it is for some.  When this "Rhetoric" leaves, its going to be up to the "Anti Rhetoric" to bring a big stick to the fight to China and we all know how that will turn out.

  17. I have had a hiatus a time or three over the years on the site here. No matter what hobbies come and go, you cant just put good music and hardware down for good. Heck, I have fired my system up like 3 times in 4 months and that was just for a few min before I was summoned. Seems like all my time is homeschooling or out in my shop hiding from everyone.  Alas, I do have a set of KG4's out there with an old monster Denon receiver.
