  1. Yup. Torx worked great. I wasn't sure if i had to remove all the screws on the outside. Figured it out though. Found about half a bag of chips. Just moved to so they were scattered about the whole cabinet (I put the speakers back into the boxes so that involves turning them upside down).

  2. I have not a clue how it happened, being that I have no children but...somehow I got tortilla chips inside my speaker cabinets. Heard something moving around in there while I was moving them and it turned out to be chips.Anyway, I need to remove the woofers as there are chips stuck between the speaker and bracket.

Can anyone give me an idea on how to do this? I found a guide for rf-7 ii but they are mounted differently then the 83's.

    Thanks,

    Zach

  3. Off Topic:

Is setting a TV on top of the RC-64 or RC-64 II a good idea? I notice you have an LCD and they are a bit lighter then my plasma but I guess I always assumed it might vibrate or something? My center is way to low and setting it under my TV would be much more ideal. Any input on that? notice it move the tv at all?

    BTW I just finished my 5.1 with a normal rc-64, now I want a II. thanks.........ha.

  4. Don't know if it is the same sound or not, I dont rememeber what it sounded like. But the PS3 has a volume setting and if that gets turned up beyond "normal" it creates a hiss/distortion. Kind of a long shot but just double check. It's happened to me without me knowing but I have a lot of drunk friends. While playing music, hit triangle and go to the little speaker logo(i think, pretty sure its "volume or sound settinjgs") and it hit x and it should bring up a little green thing to change the volume. Make sure its on normal.

And if that doesn't help, good luck!

  5. Does anyone have or know where I can download test tones to try "flatten" my sub? I have a parametric EQ and was gonna see if I could try and figure out where my "hump" is. I was thinking maybe like 15hz-80hz in 5hz increments? I have DVE but all they have is a wave and that goes to fast to try to figure out where the "hump" is. I know room plays a big part in this but I dont have much wiggle room on the sub unfortunately.

    Thanks

  6. I rewatched Live Free Die Hard yesterday. I dont know if I heard a difference in DTS-MA, but it still sounded freaking amazing. Really great demo stuff and its visually pleasing too, just dont look for much of a movie(I mean Bruce Willis jumps on a fighter jet, rediculous), haha.

  7. I use my PS3 to stream them and all the tv shows i have through my wireless network. It can be a little bit qwerky at times but it usually works(now that it finally lets you play AVI files over 2 gigs...). You just have to be sure you format it right. it will do just about any audio format I think. AC3 I know, ive never ripped a movie in DTS, mostly because of space and If i wanted to watch it for real I would just pop the DVD in.

  8. Not to change the topic of the thread, cuz i think thats freakin sweet (and admirably rediculous) and i think i could be you SOMEDAY.(as i have an obsession with bass but noone wants to donate to my cause, and college aint cheap) but have you ever considered selling any of your DIY subs? i mean not for like a profit or anything, just ones you dont need to dumb klipsch members like myself who cant build anything and want extreme output.

  9. Yeah i have a ps3 as well. I think once i pay off some other expenses I'm probably gonna get one. Not only does the picture quality look amazing, the tv housing itself is really pretty, haha. I thin kit will definatly be worth it...

  10. is that the XBR4 or XBR5? Either way do you like it? I'm really considering trading my phillips in for the 46 inch model. Best buy has been runnin some killer sales that knock the price down about 2500(which is a difference of about 400 after trading mine in due to flashlighting issues). It looks really good i was just curious about like any issues u had or anything?

  11. Yeah, I should try that I suppose. I would consider the ultra except its about $700 more then the ED A7S ($300 more then the A7)..and a tad bit outta my budget...I really dont care about "looks" so to speak, as I live with just myself and my roomate in a "college house" so to speak and I guess I figured I pay a little for the "nice" look of the SVS sub. (I bought the Piano Gloss just because the flat black was sold out and it had the PeQ, haha which i never used, oddly enough. oh and DIY isn't really an option, as I'm not at all gifted in that respect nor have the tools.

  12. I have that sub now, and im thinkin i might need an upgrade soon here. it shakes the house thats for sure...i just feel like i might need a little more. now im not trying to ADD a sub, being that i dont have a ton of money, but thinkin bout selllin my SVS and buyin somethin a tad bigger. Do you think that maybe replacing it with a ED A7S - 450(with the bigger amp I guess???) would make a whole lot of difference? I think i would get more output, loooking at numbers, but maybe a little less low extension, as i have the SVS set at the 16hz extension mode? Would anyone recommend this? I guess im sorta directing this at TheEAR, as he always recommends the ED subs, and knows everything about subs... What do you think? Or should I just bite the bullet and spend the extra $600 and get the next biggest one??? the A7 - 450? Thanks. (note i have the 12.2 driver now and bout this sub in about September of 07.)
